I think I found the data in that NBC poll. It was
hidden in the middle of the poll and the results are extremely odd.

From their calculations it appears there was a D45 to R 27 sample, but it is
hard to tell as they break it down in an odd way. They start with strong
Democrat/Republican and go down to Not Very Strong Democrat/Republican and
finish up with lean Democrat/Republican.

However they did it, those are absurd numbers. Even dropping the last
category of Not Very Strong still leaves us with a D32 to R 22
result. No way on earth is hillary going to get those numbers.

3.1 margin of error
Likely voters defined as voted in 2012 or 2014 (problem right there)
22% Hispanic or black
The margin is 5% with all candidates including Johnson
Trump ahead on economic issues by 5. Even on terrorism
47% voted for Obama 33% Romney
Here's the kicker. Between sting democrat and leans democrat the sample is 45%. Republican is 37%. 13% independent

191 And that "test" of polls says just about exactly what I have been saying all along. When you have a poll which assumes a 10% slant to Democrats in a State that had them lose by 1% in the previous election there is some serious crap in that poll. When they don't give the weighting factors at all you know they are so bad they are embarrassed to admit it.

And as I said on the links today, those three polls that Ace referenced yesterday all had good weighting factors.

193 There will be an assassination attempt on Trump if he goes into last two

The Clinton Foundation won't be doing much hiring of unemployed Dems (about their only charity work) so the less well connected would have to go get jobs that pays based on their actual skills. Not a pleasant prospect.

Two things are at work here:

1) Stopping Hillary from being elected.
2) Starting, somehow, the process of stopping the madness and reversing course.

The things I believe in and have always believed about what works and what does not do not change, no matter who the candidate is.

The fact that people will just blindly and automatically attack someone because they legitimately criticize something that goes against principles (i.e. knowledge and experience) that Mr. Trump states or puts forward is sad and frightening.

The straw man is that "you'll help Hillary" is bullshit. If Mr. Trump is elected, please G-d, he'll move forward with agenda items I may not have supported whilst he was a candidate and yet think he has a mandate because no one told him 'no, you're wrong' while he was running.

Right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter who is running. Doesn't mean I want Hillary or a Democrat. It just means I want the person who wants my support (in theory) to listen and understand why his candidacy resonated in the first place. Hint: NOT to do the same things as before that got us where we are now.

Meh. I'm rambling. Genucht.

Like This Guy...

Voting for Trump isn't enough.

You have to be enthusiastic about it.

...You Will Be Made to Care.

And I like NGU. He's a Patriot through-and-through. But #AlwaysTrumpers will make you feel guilty about wanting to see Ted Cruz in that position.

They accuse Liberals of being ignorant and "Of The Cloth", while ignoring their own personal disdain for those who will vote for Trump, yet do so tenuously.

Again... let me re-state that Nevergiveup is a Patriot and he bleeds Red-White-and-Blue. I see it in every post he makes.

While I was being called "butt-hurt" during the Primaries, I was voting for the most Conservative guy, "Who Could Not Win", as many called him.

Now that I am voting for Trump, I get to watch others berate me, as if I am chopped liver.

I am a Wack-O for listening to Glenn Beck, taking and leaving what I will, (because I have a bit of intelligence... not much, but some), and understanding what is at stake. I get it. #NeverHillary.

Ace did, as well.

Understanding that what we are entering into with Trump is not Conservative isn't just some fever-dream that I made-up after eating bad Mexican food.

It is a reality that I'll be pressing a button for a Trump that is in it for Trump.

It is better than the alternative, but I'll not be made to be enthusiastic about "cheering-on" the newest Gay-"Marriage".

...when I compared #AlwaysTrumpers to Liberals that wanted me to be "enthusiastic" for Gay "Marriage", people became unhinged.

Just know that I know what I know and I am certain that I don't know everything, I can tell you that I've put a lot of thought into this.

If you treat me like chemjeff, (who has asked for his little corner), I will shit on you and then pray for you.

...because I'm not an adversarial ignorant for the sake of being such.

I've simply had a turd placed upon my plate and I'll use my butter-knife to slice it.

*nom-nom-nom*

I'm just sick of Patriots being called-out, as if they were Traitors.

Ignorant, Collusive, Statists with "too many feelings" do that shit. Not Us.

We Are The Counter-Culture. We Are The Lawful. We Are Americans.

...and we'll get through this shit together.

237 Ok this may be long but the media is whining about being open and forthcoming with the rioters so I've decided to do just that.

Advanced Rioting Technics:

Brothers you must always be ready with a plan and the plan that I have devised is simple and straight forward.

1. Be prepared BEFORE any criminal of color is shot by a cop.

What I recommend is to have 3 other brothers, all armed with shotguns, plenty of ammo, and a couple of machete's.

2. Location,location,location.
When I say location I do not mean the electronics isle at the local Walmart. I mean the pharmacy at the local Walmart.
When the party starts moving to the Walmart. Grab your buddies and weapons and make a bee line for the pharmacy.
Let the other suckers go after the flat screens. You'll be able to barter one of those off of a brother for a single pill.
The opiates are where its at.

3. Staking out your claim.

Once you and your buddies make your way into the pharmacy to snag all of the opiates. Stake your claim.
Use you machete's to hack a few limbs or necks of any ho's that wander too close or better yet cut up some of those white devil's who love to amble around in the crowd as they try to lay claim to your music and look hard. Cut up a few of those to make kind of a white picket fence outside of the pharmacy isle that lets the other brothers know that your in it to win it.

4. Defensive tactics.
This one is easy and if practiced with the buddies can be very effective. First off watch the old classic, Zulu.
In the movie Zulu, the Zulus had vastly superior numbers but the white devils, aka, Brits, would form 3 lines and fire, those who fired would kneel and reload as another line stepped up and fired. Rinse repeat.
It creates a withering, non stop wall of fire designed to cease large numbers of other rioters converging on your opiate honey hole. So pracitse this tactic with your buddies.

5. Quality food items:

By the time your done snagging all of the opiates the store should be pretty well picked over so you need to know what items are good that may be passed over by other looters.
One item that comes to mind is Jiffy cornbread. It's cheap and it is awesome, the blueberry muffins aren't as good but will do when the pickings get slim so try and do your homework on which food items that are very tasty but so cheap that other rioters will pass them over for something else.

That's about it. Happy rioting and enjoy those happy pills.
Until the next time.

261 Why are people lounging about in the primaries as if it mattered now? I'm at a loss to understand why so many want to go on and on and on and on and on about something that is already past and cannot be changed. Is it to let off steam? Just "I'm upset that happened" type of thing? I really am curious about this since so many want to engage in it.

My mother likes to re-tell stories about the times she was right. She's 95 and has a ton of them. None of them matter because the event, the object, and the person she argued with are long gone.

I suppose that if there weren't a big election coming up we could rehash the past and "learn from it" (I learned that I had been wrong about Cruz), but instead of trashing the person running against Hillary, why not trash Hillary?

There is a huge difference between "enthusiasm" for Trump and "not bashing, whining about, deriding, trolling against" the nominee. A lack of enthusiasm would translate into not really talking about him much at all.

Again... let me re-state that Nevergiveup is a Patriot and he bleeds Red-White-and-Blue. I see it in every post he makes.

While I was being called "butt-hurt" during the Primaries, I was voting for the most Conservative guy, "Who Could Not Win", as many called him.

Posted by: Slapweasel, (Deplorable1), (T) at September 22, 2016 08:44 AM (6gk0M)

--------------

People ask why I post here. Mostly to argue. Part of it, however, is because THE DAY AFTER Trump wins, Conservatives need to attack. They need to treat Trump as a president from a different party. Because on any issue, he will default to the authoritarian, staist solution - we saw it last night with guns.

And people don't want to do this. No matter how much people say they're voting for Trump to stop Clinton, they don't want to think that they are voting for a guy who's to the left of Bill Clinton. It's simply human nature. So they create fake Trumps. They spin in their heads. They berate anyone who points out just how bad Trump is. And - worst of all - they justify really, really liberal policies as being somehow Conservative.

The party must not become Trumpian. We must not become Europe, with two big-government parties that argue over identity politics. That, more than anything else, is what is vital in this election.

Posted by: Nevergiveup

They're the victims of democrat/socialist/communist social policies and prescriptions. They've been told that they are the victims of "white culture" for a hundred years.

In fact, they were doing quite well in becoming part of the traditional american culture until W.E.B. DuBois managed to replace the narrative from people like Booker T. Washington with the socialist Frankfurt School ideas and insist that blacks should not have to adapt to "white" culture--the traditional hard working, personal responsibility, protestant work ethic, etc. There is an entire modernest literary genre dedicated to explaining the value of living "black" as opposed to white and was supposedly symbolized by the Harlem Renaissance.

However, when you reject the sexual ethics, reject the personal responsibility, reject the non-communal nature of traditional western culture, you end up with abject chaos. The philosophical argument is centered around blacks not being forced to "act white" to succeed. However, to succeed the only way is by doing exactly those things they consider white.

It's a socialist ruse to get a permanent underclass and it worked perfectly.

The problem is, when Trump is elected - and I think he will be - I don't believe a lot of the "Conservatives" who have been supporting him will snap into an opposition posture. I think they will try to justify his policies.

I ask again - If both Trump and Clinton propose single payer, which gets more congressional votes? Which gets more public support? Do all those Trump voters really become opponents?

310 >>Plus these assholes want to tax us for how much we drive and keep track of where we go. No thanks and fU.

Not just keep track of - control. Driverless means there's at least one central system that is coordinating your path w/numerous others, and likely factoring in things like current traffic, road closures, etc. So...how hard would it be to update the system to stop travel to X? I would assume that's actually a selling point of this - you can stop a car if it's fleeing a crime scene, or stop all cars from entering the highway at point X-Y in a snowstorm. But....yeah, something like this is naturally open for abuse.

316 Oh, and by-the-way...

The "N"-Word is becoming fashionable again. Because there is a difference between folks like you and me and "N"-Words.

I never thought I'd say this, even though I worked behind a bar and knew that most Black Folks "didn't believe-in tips".

Those are still creations of a Democrat-Created Culture.

I've worked with Black Folks and I still call them for advice to this day.

I've also worked with "N"-Bombs and I can say without hesitation that they scared me, even as I was a part of semi-organized crime.

Don't get me wrong. I beat them down, but the repercussion wasn't something you looked forward to. --Quite the opposite.

(I was never "connected", but it was pretty close. I had "back-up", but It was never close-by.)

The only thing we knew was that the Blacks didn't have a close network.

I've "done things" that I am not proud of. I've never killed anyone, but I've "done things".

...My Cousin got killed "doing things", so I now cling to Jesus Christ and hide in the suburbs.

As God is my witness, there is a difference between Black Folks and "N"-Words. But "N"-Words exist and are real. They are always "turning their lives around" as they murder a cop.

Like terrorists, they speak little English and have twisted views about "freedom".

They know math intimately...lol. Grams, ounces, lb's...etc.

So here's your endgame:

Letting them take over the streets is wrong as well ... there were not that many ... start arresting them ... instead of turning it into a block party for cop haters.

If you take up with the concern troll, perhaps. Cruz has been fairly good, although not perfect on policy. His mistake was attempting to turn himself into an icon rather than help defeat Hillary.

I had a brother-in-law (I still think he's gay) who would not take a job when he was unemployed because it wasn't proper one, would not eat with an improper utensil, would not use an improper tool, would be late so that he could OCD put everything away 'properly', while the world fell apart around him. All of them.

A single decision on one aspect of polling isn't, by itself, the way to look at a poll. It's A way to look at it, but not by any means the single most important point. Then he closes by making that key point directly: "You can see why we say it's best to average polls, and to stop fretting so much about single polls."

Look at Europe, where the police are not protecting citizens from refugees - skinheads in Germany, Soldiers of Odin in many countries (they even have chapters in the US). Not good.

Actually, I'm okay with Cruz not endorsing Trump, especially after the rancor of the primary. But Cruz fucked up by accepting a speaking role at the convention after the nomination and then pointedly not endorsing the nominee.

The proper thing to do would have been to be up front and cancel out. He'd get a few weeks of criticism, but it would have blown over by this point. Now, Cruz is going to have to drag that ball and chain around with him for the rest of his political career.

Yup, the GOPe is the worst thing that is or ever can be. It can't get worse.

The GOPe voted uniformly to block Obamacare. They tried various avenues - not enough, but several, to stop it. And given the chance to kill it as it failed, the primary voters choose a candidate who supported government run healthcare.

The situation may be more complex then just GOPe=the whole problem.

537 529 The GOPe voted uniformly to block Obamacare.

LOL, they really pulled out all the stops, didn't they?

If they hated Obamacare as much as they loved export/ import bank, they would've attached it to a budget bill.

Mitch McConnell loves Obamacare. It's why he's majority leader.

538 I am so tired of listening to people claim they are oppressed. They don't know oppressed if they are under the age of 45. And they are so narcissistic! As if what ever less than happy feeling they have is all cuz of the MAN and nobody but them ever had it bad. Good gawd. Quit getting pregnant at 11! Quit beating on each other, doing drugs and getting caught burgling the neighbor! Why are all these factors ignored and the sole problem is millions of cops locked and loaded with guns firing nonstop at the innocent!

In my awesome opinion, the possibility of trumpiosification trumps what you peasants have been witnessing every frickin' day.

So shut up and vote the GOPe way.

Yeah, because I totally supported the GOPe in the primary - or now, when they're threatening people who don't support Trump.

Your trying to contort reality to fit your silly, self-aggrandizing story and it doesn't work. The GOPe is going to be just fine, and you helped.

543 Mitch McConnell loves Obamacare. It's why he's majority leader.

Obamacare will never be repealed.

Republicans will whittle around the edges a little bit, shave off some of the more onerous parts, but the substance of it... the administration of health care under the Department of HHS with subsidies for people who can afford high-end phones and athletic shoes but not co-pays... is not going to change.

At least not until the whole system goes bankrupt.

The only one here defending the GOPe is you.

The only one whining about "scary" is you.

Trumpiosification is your boogeyman.

We're shitting on the GOPe. We're not aggrandizing anything. Amy it and trump coopt one another? Perhaps. Would that be any differen than anyone else that went and became part of the beltway? No.

That certainly explains why the Tea Party endorsed him.

Yeah, you're totally fighting them. Supporting the guy that Boehner wanted over Cruz - so tough.

You're enthusiastically supporting someone to the left of the GOPe. They don't have to coopt Trump - he'll be more than happy to work with them, just like he'll happily work with Pelosi.

You've crafted a comfortable little fantasy, and you're going to stay nestled in it even as Trump pushes a host of leftist policies. And that's the problem.

This line of shit is as truthful as the GOPe opposing obamacare.

Cruz chose to ride the clown car. he did better than the fron runners, and the GOPe hated him. it's why they are drooling over mcmuffin, and the Beast.

The only fantasy is you being scared over trumpiosification.

In the 2014 budget deal, the GOP went to the wall against Democrat opposition to help megabanks gamble in the derivatives market with taxpayer-backed money.

In the 2015 budget deal, the GOP went to the wall against Democrat opposition to make it legal for Big Oil companies to export oil from the USA.

What GOP believes in and will fight for is whatever the Donor Class wants.

Thank God the NRA is a wealthy and powerful member in good standing of the Donor Class.

Really? Because a lot of folks here have demonstrated a real willingness to delude themselves to make the world conform to a certain narrative.

And there will be another election in 2020 - won't opposing Trump just empower the Dem in that election?

Yup. The GOPe believes in whatever big transnational businesses want. So naturally, the way to oppose them is to elect an unscrupulous transnational businessman who is renowned for single-mindedly pursuing his own self-interest at the expense of everything else.

One of the tragedies of this election is that the GOP needed reform - it needed to break from the grip of the donor class, to rethink the role of megabusinesses and focus on competition and small and medium sized businesses. And nominee Trump has set all that back.

It is touching that you believe that. Like any GOP candidate other than Trump was even addressing this?

Posted by: Curmudgeon at September 22, 2016 11:14 AM (ujg0T)

561 It really boils down to whether one believes a beast presidency is an existential threat.

I believe it is despite the fact that I've always argued against the "vote conservative in primary/ republican in the general philosophy."

A strange election to put it mildly.

I believe the Republic is more than strong enough to survive either Trump or Clinton. (Yes, I know the Supreme Court - but the Court is gone either way. Trump will not appoint someone who opposes his statist policies.)

People said 2012 was the last election. They said it in 2008. They will say it in 2020 and 2024 and on and on.

So yes, this is at the core of the debate.

So letting Shrillary win by default out of petulance is your solution?

It is amusing that you are so upset about what Trump *might* do while ignoring what the Obamunists have done and are doing, some siccing the IRS on Tea Party patriots to inciting race riots with "hands up, don't shoot" lies.

Posted by: Curmudgeon at September 22, 2016 11:24 AM (ujg0T)

565 from siccing that is. Bleah autocorrect.

Anyway, Trump was not my choice, Cruz was. But Trump hit on the immigration problem *first*, and Cruz ultimately committed political seppuku by his petulant ending to an otherwise great speech at the GOP convention.

Posted by: Curmudgeon at September 22, 2016 11:28 AM (ujg0T)

566 Cruz was smarmy, but I was willing to accept him until he melted down. He never impressed me with these top of the world champion debate skills he was supposed to possess. Especially since his face could not hide when he was in discomfort when being attacked.

All the never trump fools who think they are standing on principle are laughable. To do so means you still believe there is a candidate in American Politics, or that there ever was a candidate, who will be ideal and do all the conservative things you want. Truth is, the Seizure Queen has a proven track record of failure and even destruction. So I will take a Trump who may do something right whilst at the same time giving us four years to reconstruct a party that went from a great one to an arm of the DNC.
