2 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, July 10, 2016. On this day in 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee, the so-called "Monkey Trial" of John T. Scopes, a young high school science teacher accused of teaching evolution in violation of the Butler Act. There was an interesting article in The Smithsonian magazine about this infamous trial. Nearly everything put out by the MFM about this trial is BS, and that includes the crappy movie.

Janesville is kind of a tossup town. It's close enough to Madison and Milwaukee to be infected yet far enough away to have a sizable normal populace who are feeling the effects of Democrat compassion (T.M). Besides, Ryan originally ran as a Tea Party outsider so his performance since then has been seen as a complete betrayal.

We'll see what happens. His opponent is running a very visible and seemingly effective campaign.

This "narrative" created by H.L. Mencken is one of the most pervasive lies created by the "media" in a century. I have no recollection of purchasing an AR and/or what happened to it and/or any other firearm that I may or may not have purchased.

I don't know how it is now, but originally the Mini-14 was about half the cost of the AR-15 and just as effective. When I got my Mini-14 the .223 was the only version available. If the 44 mag had been available then I would have got that. Those rounds are much easier to reload than that small bottleneck .223 round. (which was why I eventually sold the Mini-14.)

My point was, and is, that if ISIS were truly a problem that 60 nations thought was necessary to combat, the ISIS wouldn't exist. Sixty nations, including the largest military in the world, and ISIS has continued to be the reason for the deaths of at least a half a million people and the displacement of millions of others and this vaunted 60 nation coalition is made to look impotent?

I had the great misfortune to be immediately to the right of an AR-10 at the range when I was sighting the scope of my Rem 700 in .308. (I was there first!)

Damned 10 was almost blowing my hat off on each shot. I was expecting to get bonked in the head by hot x51 brass at any moment. I had to stop shooting, I was flinching so bad!

But, yeah, I may build one for myself.

Generally no issues mixing uppers and lowers. Some really cheap lower brands sometimes have quality control issues so test after assembly, like the 39 dollar Andersens. That said, I got my hands on Taran Butler's rifle at NRA, and the lower is a shitty old Eagle Arms EA15 with a hot rod new BCM upper on it.

Uppers. Colt, BCM, Archer, Daniel Defense, Sionics, LMT. Larue has been shipping some with gas ports oversized, which is fine if you want to run a suppressor can but just beats up the internals over time if not.

Sons of Liberty Gun Works have been doing some good stuff. The guys from Primary and Secondary have been going for a 10,000 round torture test.

There are a couple good small batch shops, but those are out of the purview of most newcomers.

Anyway, you probably don't need a rifle that fires off large quantities of low-power ammunition which will be hard to come by if SHTF.
