Maybe the plan all along has been to string Hillary along as far as possible, allow her to expend as much time, effort and money as possible toward gaining the presidency, then cut her off at the knees at the last possible moment. .You are missing the end of the FBI investigation. It isn't over until the fat lady sings, and the FBI can still recommend charges for pretty much anything it finds evidence for. Obstruction of Justice can be one of those recommendations.
Not saying that the DOJ will actually convene a Grand Jury to indict her though, just that the FBI can recommend charges.

The person who is in actual danger of having a sudden change to their standard of living is Chelsea--she has proven to be completely useless as a adult and her husband only earns money because of his in-laws. Crime Family did not expect Trump to be the man. They thought Trump
would defuse certain popular notions, enough for this year's patsy (I
suspect Rubio) to take the nom and then take the fall. Easy peasy.
Except...well, except they'd moved too fast, hadn't covered all bases,
and Trump took off like a manhole on an underground nuke test. (Actual
incident. Look it up.) So instead of dealing with this at leisure with
the thing in the bag, suddenly they have to scramble and have to do
things less than optimally.

As Trump has started making this race competitive (and now winning) the FBI will get more courage and I think recommend indictment.
If you were seeing Hillary winning this race by say 15 points across different polls, she would be completely bulletproof and the FBI would punt it.
