10 If I were that IRS department head, I wouldn't show up either.

Just impeach him and be done with it.

Same with Gitmo, just turn'm all loose, and walk away from the base. Let Castro have it.

This constant trolling is wearisome. Just do it or shut the hell up. We all know Obama is going to do it, and we all know the GOP won't do anything about it, so knock off the drama and do it. Effing bastrids.

Just take the guy's flippancy to be an admission that the whole thing is rotten enough they know they can't fix it.

Humbler people might reflect at that point whether or not federalizing ever more of the medical field is a great idea at that point.

Obama and the mules are never humble despite humiliation.

So, the Farsi's claim they can destroy Israel in 8 minutes.

Part of me wants to compare this claim to the Monty Python "fish slapping" sketch. Michael Palin tauntingly dances around an unmoving John Cleese, slapping him delicately in the face with a couple of small sardines. After a while, Cleese whacks Palin with a giant salmon and sends him hurling off the dock.

I hope this is the case.

22 Effin Congress, way back when, delegated their regulatory duties to the executive branch. Congress establishes a new bureaucracy and then hands a blank check to the president to write the regulations because congress is too lazy to do their job, and because of the struggle for power, congress can't write new regulations. The opposition party tied up the 'process' and nothing could get done, which was the whole point. It was supposed to be difficult to write new law. So congress delegated it to the executive branch.

And now everyone wants to complain about the new regulations Obama has written? Effin bastids.

Burn Washington to the ground. Rewrite the Constitution in plain and simple language so simple that even a 6th grade student can understand it, and start hanging politicians who violate that simple language.

37 Burn first, then Art V convention.

People need to feel the burn of anarchy, and have it pounded into their head that when you ignore the law you get narco-terrorists taking over your medical marijuana dispensary. You get illegal border jumpers ignoring the law, you get crooked politicians, you get crazy bathroom law that grants special favor to .001 percent of the population, you get a 'get out of prison free card' because of the color of your skin or your party membership. You get rotten schools, and apparently these lessons need to be taught every three or four generations.

I would radically change how the federal courts are appointed and their location. Washington DC would have no say on it what-so-ever. It would all be done at the State level.

I would also make paying taxes a condition to vote.

Do you think you'd have the support ?

Not from either party in DC but I think the voting population would support it.

I don't think the States would ratify any amendments like that.

77 Sorry, Ma'am. I know you are a good person, but
children growing up in the depression didn't want to go to bed hungry.
People didn't want to work for pennies either, but their desires didn't
carry and weight. They didn't get to make that choice.

That's true. But I don't think there were people saying at the time that "people need to feel the Depression", or "people need to feel hungry". There's a difference between dealing with circumstances, and saying that people " NEED to feel anarchy".

Perhaps it will come to anarchy. I don't know. What I do know is I don't care for people who seem to gleefully wish it upon their fellow countrymen.

Art V Convention is predicated on the premise that the States are still
conservative, and have not been captured by leftists in the state
capitals. I don't know if that's true.

Indeed. While there is a "silent majority" in body, there is none in will.
Recall that it only took some 30 percent support to break England's hold over the colonies - and that was difficult to arrange.

Of course, when I hear "silent majority" I hear Spiro Agnew...

And, if I remember right, those are supposed to be finalized within 60 days, but there's no mechanism for enforcing that so the chiefs just sit on them hoping you'll lose interest.

But please, correct me if I'm wrong on that 60 day figure, it's been a while.

My impression as an outsider is that the GOPe destroyed its base.

Lindsey Graham seems to be doing fine. McCain survived in a boarder state even though he lied when he said he would build-their-dam-fence. The odds of Lying Ryan being Cantored are small.

Mitt Romney has whipped out his flag. Romney prefers Hillary over Trump. What does that tell you.

Trump is a hand grenade being rolled into DC. We will see if he goes off or is a dud.

Yeah, and you don't *die* if you wait too long for Space Mountain.
Disney also doesn't remove you from the lines without telling you, while faking their park entry and wait time numbers in order to get bonuses.
Also, no one is owed a Disney visit, but vets are owed their care after their service to our country.

250 Some morning reading

https://fee.org/articles/the-founding-father-of-fascism/

"Carlyle was not a socialist in an ideological sense. He cared nothing for the common ownership of the means of production. Creating an ideologically driven social ideal did not interest him at all. His writings appeared and circulated alongside those of Karl Marx and his contemporaries, but he was not drawn to them.

Rather than an early 'leftist," he was a consistent proponent of power and a raving opponent of classical liberalism, particularly of the legacies of Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill. If you have the slightest leanings toward liberty, or affections for the impersonal forces of markets, his writings come across as ludicrous. His interest was in power as the central organizing principle of society. '

Actually, we've had a system of governance come from the states with Obama's election-

Chicagoism.

It's the poison now infecting Washington DC and no shot was fired or needed to be fired.

Chicagoism- is basically extremely large (actually monstrous) misuse of public funds strictly for the benefit of cronies and government officials.

And there is a seat for everyone (in government) at the table as long as they're willing to play along.

Obama broke the system by running up the debt to $20 trillion. He proved that huge amounts of money could and the graft generated would overcome any personal or political morals of the politician/crony class.

This is why the GOPe/GOP cronies have been so insane this go round. They expected a YUUUUGE payday at the taxpayer expense.

This is why they're making insane statements like they have to prove they can govern....while, you know, providing no governance at all.

It's their turn and we're spoiling it for them.

Against that kind of money and corruption, Art V looks silly.

The fight against the left is hard and long. There is no magic bullet.

Yup most socialists are in fact a lot more concerned with "BECAUSE I SAID SO!" than such details as who owns what how...

it is why Orwell came up with his line about a boot stamping a face forever...

Classical Liberalism is predicated on the right of people to say "no" and thus enrages the powerful....forever.

Bad behavior in support of democrats will be rewarded by democrats. He can be fired, but his landing will be very cushy, and his regret will be fleeting. These ghouls who make your blood boil give bureaucrats and their tribe a little thrill. They WILL find great jobs and amazing opportunities in the future.

The price of robbing a bank of $10,000 cannot be a fine of $10,000. And that's what firing the IRS commissioner is. No regrets, no fucks given, and a promise of the same type of behavior from others.

It's not in beltway GOP's nature to be punitive, nor liberty-voters. But they have to do that to hold society together. And to be harder and meaner still than that, to compensate for the cartel behavior of democrats.

Illinois redid their constitution sometime early 70s. The upshot has been a proliferation of incomprehensible 'amendments' that, of course, reinforce the power of lobbying groups. Right now, I think it is as unwieldy as a bunch of Federal regulations. Illinois is also seriously trying to push through a consolidation of taxing districts -- which, miraculously, somehow removes local control. Every time this comes up, I am yelling about how consolidations counterintuitively increases taxes and corruption.

287 We AGW skeptics are fond of saying that we can't predict the weather next week, so how can Al Gore say what's going to happen 100 or 1000 years down the line?

Apply that to predictions in general. We don't even know what's going to happen in the presidential race this year. (Will scankles be the nominee? Or will it be Slow Joe and Pocahontas? Will Bernie stay in or not? If there's a terrorist attack how will that effect the race? Who knows?) People are predicting how the world is going to be 80 years from now?

Well, I do it too. But did anybody at Versailles in 1779 predict what was going to happen 10 years later? George Washington was a proud British subject in 1766. In the year of my birth, 1959, was anybody predicting Woodstock and the '68 DC convention? And in 1964, the year conservativism looked totally crushed for good, did anybody predict the Reagan presidency? Or even the Nixon one?

You think you know. You don't know.

They have gotten whole nations of people to completely ignore the lessons of history, of human nature, and of basic science and biology-

to completely abandon their own welfare and safety and most astonishingly of all, the welfare and safety of their children and grandchildren-

for a pat on the head from "Their Betters".

The entire Left and Zuckerberg/Soros/Davos crew is to be commended on a well-executed plan as the world plunges into general war, civil war, chaos, and barbarism-

330 Here is a story being ignored by the media that should probably get more play, and it concerns Mrs. Wrecks. She is a speech language pathologist at a number of elementary schools. Yesterday one of her schools got a bomb threat. This was different from your usual didn't-do-homework for several reasons. It was technologically sophisticated. An artificial electronic voice made the phone threat and it was made to appear to be coming from inside the building. It wasn't coming from inside the building because coordinated calls were made across the country and even in England. The language was especially vicious speaking of children's body parts being blown all over the neighborhood etc.

Here is a story about it (although not about my wife's school).

http://tinyurl.com/hgcfb6m

So coordinated threats against innocent elementary students across the US and into Europe. To me, that spells Islam.

The thing is: those vast sums of money won't be worth much if the whole world is in chaos. And what will they be able to buy with it, if the world reverts to barbarism? There were aristocrats in the European Dark Ages - and the level of comfort they enjoyed was far inferior to the level of comfort enjoyed by a upper class Roman at the time of Christ.

The dachas of the ruling Soviets were modest by Western standards and their luxury goods were all Western goods sold in the special shops reserved for them. When the west has gone third world where will they get those luxuries?

Nah, if it comes to that, they won't be living all that well. I now understand what Lenin meant when he said that capitalists will sell commies the ropes that will be used to hang them.

This seems to be another instance of Obama creating a problem to use it as justification for something he wants (Fast and furious for gun control): open the borders, stop screening immigrants for infectious diseases like TB, AIDS, and insist unaccompanied illegal minors get in public schools despite no vaccinations and all kinds of icky diseases. No, it won't happen.

It did in Russia, in Beslan, for those who want to look it up, and here, int West, we lamented the 'heavy hand' of Russian Interior Ministry troops, who stormed the building in part to keep the locals - many armed with Kalshnikovs (funny, isn't? Russian civvies can own that kind of firepower, but the people of Chicago shall not be trusted with so much as a .22....) - from going in and taking care of it themselves.

No, there won't be a backlash here, not for a VERY long time; Lord help us all if and when it doess come...

Farming is hard dangerous work. Takes skill and ability to make a good living at it. WW2 killed any agrarian movement.

How do you get them back on the farm after they have seen gay Paree?

367 That was about two weeks ago. At the McD's my kids and I go to most. Seems weird that the guy tried to hold up a car in a crowded area in broad daylight but apparently there was some sort of festival in the park near by that had brought in a lot of strangers.

Happy stories don't have an expiration date

My takeaway is ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings and situation. 2pm broad daylight and crowded. Yikes.

368 360 ... MP4, I think you've got it backwards.

Muzzies hit a school in Rural America, and the natives go off. Feds try to tamp it down and get overwhelmed. Things spin out of control, nationally, pretty quickly.

Feds hit Sidwell School, the Elites demand action ... and in the current political climate, Rural America yawns. Maybe a small giggle.

It's also dependent on the weather. A couple of years of droughts can kill your business.

My dad was raised on a farm. He was not sentimental about it at all. He said once you've worked on a farm, nothing else seems like work.

372 "Secret to success is sincerity.

Warning.
May be corrosive to your soul.
May lead to unhappiness later in life.

(Will get you more pussy than you know what to do with. That can really be a problem if you have a soul.)

My grampa was raised on a CO farm in the dustbowl. My theory is that the ones who survived were *tough* naturally with an acceptance of pain or discomfort levels I as "gen-X" find nearly unfathomable.

377 By the way ... East Scrotum, Indiana used to be a nice town. Pretty courthouse right in the middle, with a roundabout like you see in the part of the country. Started going to shit once the mill shut down. Bad meth problem now.

Obama is a Crony Communist Muslim.
He want to overrun the US with muslim scum.
Cloward Piven.

They don't know where food come from.
They think Federal Reserve notes are wealth.

Similar to what the Spanish thought about gold and silver.
But I will say gold and silver are prettier than Federal Reserve notes and can be made into jewelry and pretty eggs. (yesterday thread reference)

The writer Jim Goad - he of the late, great ANSWER Me! magazine and of The Redneck Manifesto - used to own a Mossberg pump-action he called "The Reverend."

When I played golf, I had an oversized driver I called "The Judge." I'd use that name if I ever bought a shotgun.

Well, they haven't thought that far ahead.

Or if they have, they think that the mere destruction of capitalism, Christianity, Western culture, etc-

will lead to a glorious new world with them still on top.

I suppose India is the model-

vastly wealthy upper rust upper class, who literally live like kings.

Everyone else poor as dirt and struggling to hold on to what little they have, esp. if they make it to the teeny-tiny middle class-

so they don't make trouble and are grateful for the largesse of the uppers.

What they forget is this is when Vic's 300 gun owners come into play,

middle class virtues and behavior only work as long as they are rewarded.

The remarkable wealth and stability of the US is due to this,

take that away and it's every man for himself.

They always think they can control chaos.

And they are always wrong.

Thus "liberal fascism"

I once did a bit of work for some folks who ran automobile fan websites - the big news was that many commenters turned out to be hardcore supporters of electric cars, wind power, full gov. ownership of automakers, communal car ownership, etc - all with the understanding that they would be the ones able to play with their cars once the roads were clear.

The term is "useful idiots". See SA/Brownshirts for how that worked out.
