12 Three black teen girls were killed by drowning while 15 feet in the water in a stolen car after losing control and landing in a pond in FL. Of course the families have lawyered up and are making accusations that the police "debated" whether to save them or not. Police say those charges are BS, but little do they know that where the SJWs are involved now and the hint of a quick cash killing, reality and truth are the first casualty. These teen girls already had a long record and trouble with police.

He is a Carter appointee most likely chosen after much Judge shopping and probably OK'd by every Republican in the Senate. This supposed torture did not even occur in any US possession so why in the hell did this court even have jurisdiction, much less these asshole terrorist lawyers have standing?

How/why? Because the law and the Constitution have zero weight on liberal judges. Our justice system is severely broken.

Interesting how that works. The leftist mobies and trolls very seldom come to sites like this (other than the occasional bombing runs), as they know they would by logically and factually crushed.

On the other hand, we avoid the leftist sites because anything we post at such places would be deleted almost at once (if there is one thing lefties can't abide is truth, reality, and the like) and our user accounts promptly banned.

As I said, interesting how that works...

Heh, Mr. Black felt nostalgic last night and put in the DVD of Purple Rain. We hadn't watched it in years. I'm a Prince fan, so it was fun to watch again, but lordy, it's a bad movie. Some of the worst acting since The Beast of Yucca Flats. Nonetheless, I really like the music, if not for any reason but to transport me back to another time when we weren't...here.

103 A handy little link to use the next time someone tries making that ludicrous claim that there were no WMDs there.

Oh yes, something else that is interesting. We find poison gas shells and rockets all over the place, over 500 metric tons of yellowcake, the only use for which is processing into weapons grade uranium. And oh yes, for the six months our guys sat in the Iraqi border waiting for everyone's permission to go in there, an endless stream of trucks shuttles back and forth between Iraq and Syria.

And in less than a year, guess what? Assad has himself a new nuclear facility, freshly built in the Bekaa Valley. Of course, one thing about Assad is that he can't scratch his ass without the Israelis knowing about it, and they promptly blow the place to kingdom come.

Oh yes, Saddam didn't have any WMDs. Because shut up. Yeah...

Not to my knowledge. He regularly attended unit reunions for years, but as fare as I know that was always stateside. Only trip to Europe that he ever took to my knowledge was to England, Scotland, maybe Germany.

He makes spotty references to weather and stuff like sitting in the sunshine, seeing flowers bloom, watching the swallows return to town. Never seemed to comment much on the scenery or architecture. He was ultimately a pragmatist more than a poet.

One thing I heard over and over was that most of the WW II guys were not inclined to discuss the war much. My father was in the South Pacific back then (Navy), and he didn't even get shot at that much. But even so he never talked about it until very late in his life, and there were some things, of a, shall we say, a more gruesome nature, that he never told me. (He did tell my older sister though.) It was a nasty business all the way around, and most of those who went through it were not overly eager to share their experiences with their kids...

Can't wait to see the recording and learn what new insults he has for republicans who live outside of New York. Maher just loves it when Cooke uses his British accent to say just how stupid conservatives are.

One thing is sure, Cooke has embraced the formula used by many others to fame and fortune - be a "conservative" pundit who has no problem insulting the republican base. Liberal media can't get enough of this type of entertainment.

133 So yesterday I told the Horde that my phone had woken up identifying as a brick and I got various bits of good advice about what to do.

I transferred enough money from savings to checking that it hurt and set off for resolution.

I thought it was dead battery dead because the screen was black, but it made a couple of e-mail noises and then when I hit things it made the camera noise. So when I was in the car I got it to make a bluetooth call.

Verizon was predictably useless.

The Cellairis kiosk was unattended and didn't look promising. They seemed to have a lot of replacement housings, but not much in the way of tech. I hung out a while and a guy came back to the kiosk while conducting some urgent business on the phone.

When he's finished with that I tell him what's up. He says oh this will be fast. Takes off the back, pokes something with a stick, and boom the screen comes on and the phone boots up.

I had resigned myself to spending several hundred dollars that I can't afford and he wouldn't even accept any payment.

So, mad props to the Cellairis kiosk guy. Really saved me.

My dad was in the Army Corps of Engineers in the CBI theater and flew the hump. I'm lucky to have a few mementos: the big leather patch from the back of his jacket with ROC/US flags and, in Chinese, a plea for assistance; lots and lots of pictures of he and his pals in Burma; and my favorite, a shot of him on the Ledo Road. He had a letter from Stilwell but I'm not sure what happened to it.

He mostly told me funny stories about his time in the service, but occasionally he'd hint at some very, very gruesome stuff he encountered.

173 Hi guys!

I'm seeing my folks and then going out to spray lead all over my cousin's range. He built a set of moving targets and bought a clay thrower.

Could be fun.

S'true. He was twenty-two years older than me. Caught the last six months of the war.
He said he once lined his C-47 up with the runway on the deck of an aircraft carrier in Naples Harbor. Said sailors scattered like flies before he broke off the approach.
Nobody tells better stories than pilots.

There should be a trigger warning if you're going to talk about chalk!

180 The longer Ted Cruz stays in the race despite being eliminated from 1st ballot voting the more damage his does to his political career. Sure he can win reelection to the Senate but he'd be just as marginalized and then if he decided to run for POTUS again he'd be Rick Santorum, a niche candidate.

Time to unite.
