Good Morning Morons. Today is Monday, February 01, 2016. On this day in 2003 the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated on reentry into the atmosphere when returning from a mission resulting in the deaths of everyone on board.

Iowa meat packing plants have all been repopulated with Hispanics (from Mexico). The question is, how many are illegals? I seem to recall ICE under Bush raiding such a plant several years ago and hundreds of them fleeing out the back doors. The plant owners were fined a few hundred dollars and had their pee pee whacked. Here Obama isn't even doing that. All it would take is fining the crap out of these owners and jailing for multiple offenses and this shit would stop. There is no need to "build a wall".

Rubio as pres, Ryan as speaker. Que bueno! The University of CT is creating a dorm for black males only. How about drinking fountains for black males only? So I'm reading "The Road to Hell" by Michael Maren about how US foreign aid money corrupts everything it touches and I suddenly realize it is not just Somalia.
It is also how politicians in Washington, D.C. buy political power by spreading federal dollars around to favored supporters of said politician. And that it has been going on since the first US Congress appropriated funds for a National Postal Service and the Post Roads which gave Ben Franklin, who lobbied for said Post Office and Post roads, wider distribution of his broadsheets and pamphlets. Just to be fair, the book has received scathing reviews by humanitarians who have made a career out of distributing humanitarian aid to desperate starving people. It is interesting to see the positive reviews about similar muckraking books pointing out the corrupting influence of federal money in the giant military-industrial-aerospace-government complex. I'm beginning to fear the whole Declaration of Independence and the myth of an Ideal Utopia of freedom and liberty was a fraud from the very first rifle shot. "The money would be better channeled through focused charities with smart eyes on their recipients, "
It was the non governmental organizations, the charities who were living fat off the skimming. The idea that catholic charities, or 'save the children' were not susceptible to the corruption is naive and childish. It's those same charitable NOGs, and foundations who are running the refugee relocation programs in the US today, running on government money and drawing fat salaries to move those refugees into your town. Actually there is a law that says the President must spend the money congress appropriates because it was Nixon (I think) who, during a budget battle, said he wouldn't spend the money. So if congress appropriates the money, the president has to spend it on what congress wants the money spent on. Obama has a pen and a phone - he doesn't need any stinking laws. Remember, impeachment is off the table. You people and your laws - makes me want to just reach out and pinch your chubby little cheeks. It was the non governmental organizations, the charities who were living fat off the skimming. The idea that catholic charities, or 'save the children' were not susceptible to the corruption is naive and childish. It's those same charitable NOGs, and foundations who are running the refugee relocation programs in the US today, running on government money and drawing fat salaries to move those refugees into your town. . . .Most Charities morph over time into something their founders would abhor. The latest one is Wounded Warriors. That used to be the go to Charity for myself and the wife along with our VFW. Not any longer as they spend more $$$ on conferences, parties, executive salaries and hotels than they spend on the wounded troops now. It's sad really. A full month since the Christmas affronts, so I had calmed down and called off my war on Christian shitheels.
Last night, I get the news that it would be morally wrong for a purported friend to attend my wedding. This, the woman who had me sing at her wedding last June, cutting four days out of the first vacation I'd had in 10 years (and the last I'll get for the next 5 years). Left my sweetheart behind, paid all my own expenses, rehearsed before dawn, bought a new (suitably modest) dress and wore the incredibly slutty makeup that the occasion demanded, sang songs I did not believe (a heinous sin in my reckoning), helped her mask my infidel status, zipped my lip on all things atheist and lesbian, bought a gift I really couldn't afford, danced with her goofball brothers and distracted the pastor with a lengthy discussion of soteriology when he seemed likely to throw a wet blanket over the reception. (That part might have been a highlight of the event, as doctrine I remembered from when I was 10 seemed to wrap the poor man's brain in knots. He knew I was wrong, but couldn't understand why his kung-fu wasn't laying me out on the floor in tears.) I'm not sure why I imagined I wouldn't get schlonged in the end, but this is definitely the last, last, last, last straw. My only solace is that President Trump will repay the Christians for their endorsements, good and hard. Posted by: Spellcheck at February 01, 2016 08:03 AM (HKBpI) 138

People hide stuff from inquiries when they know inquiries would discover them doing unethical, corrupt, and/or illegal things. The Muldoon Proposal
The 50 states are divided into four groups of 12, randomly or geographically balanced. Presidential primary voting occurs in five waves at, oh say, 3-4 week intervals in Feb-Apr of the election year. All 12 states in each group vote on the same day. Each election cycle the order of voting among the five groups rotates so that every four presidential cycles any given state gets a chance to be "first in the nation" In case you bothered to do the math, the two remaining states, Iowa and New Hampshire get to vote in May, for the next 100 years anyway. While the media and some campaigns are excited about the prospect of a blizzard in Iowa driving down turnout, NOAA and Accuweather as of now forecast a little snow and drizzle starting around 11 pm getting worse overnight. It will be in the 30's with some fog in areas during caucus times. Of course the snow front could speed up but not likely.

So much corn farmer hate. Illinois is $120B in debt because Chicago runs the state and they bought votes and gave away the store to public unions (which illegally went unfunded, to hide their giveaway). Farmers get no pensions or health care and die on the job at 50% higher rates than cops. Farmers have always had various supports but never unions. Because a safe, dependable, cheap food supply is perhaps the biggest of national defense issues. We are best in the world at that.
And all the bankers and hedge fund players that got gigantic bailouts and leveraging 300:1, and now are propped up with ZIRP and QE costing savers trillions? No big deal, hate for the farm policy dominates. We will gladly sell out farm support and the rural communities today (because we are in the cities) if you maybe one day will cut back on the public union support? Pretty please? And farmers that add on horticultural products (my degree is horticulture) have to compete with illegal alien labor, and "free trade" foreign products where there is even less oversight over production and labor. But sure, farmers should work at the same rate as Chileans, but under the tax regime and hiring controls of the US. Farmers are getting much older on average, because it's hard work, long hours for most, with no guarantees or pensions at 55. The AVERAGE farmer is now 58. Go to the cities instead, where the big money really lives. National Review says ethanol should be the litmus test, not illegal immigration, or TPP, or eagerness for war, of course. Even Cruz says he'd phase it out over a decade, but the idea is to have much better production by then. But never mind that, ethanol (a small issue really) has become HUUUGE as the litmus test. Not trade or immigration which are the killers, but even here with allegedly smart people, Ethanol Hate consumes people. Stopping and reversing the flow of the third world labor (and its socialist and criminal side effects) is the real priority. The TPP bad deals rank right up there, where sovereign control is lost and we will only get a vote among partner nations, and more power is transferred to global authority. But sure, prove how pure a conservative you are by ranting about ethanol and those damn farmers. The 10% ethanol system is established, they should just keep it at that, make non-ethanol more available at a little premium for small engines. But while ethanol has lobbyists, the real undue influence comes from the big cities and the corrupt in NYC/DC, not from the red rural parts of the big red/blue map. http://tinyurl.com/jsdb4se (that's on farmers getting MUCH older) Posted by: Illiniwek at February 01, 2016 08:30 AM (5Gpe2) 195

The annual budget request the Pentagon sends to Congress next week will include a 1.6 percent pay raise for troops in 2017, a historically small bump aimed at reducing military personnel costs, according to defense officials.
The 1.6 percent pay raise will fall below the projected increase in private-sector wages, which is likely to be 3.2 percent in 2017, according to Congressional Budget Office estimates. If approved by Congress, the modest pay increase would mark the fourth consecutive year that military basic pay has not kept pace with the growth in most civilian wages, reversing a trend during the post-2001 war years when military pay rose substantially. Given his gloriously beautiful illustrations for The Bible, Dante's Infernoand Milton's Paradise Lost, I'm inclined to agree. iforgot: I've spent years trying to defend Christian shitheels, mainly because of their many good works.
Occasionally lapsing into silence when they lose track of Ephesians 2:8 and especially 2:9: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. But at some point the smug self-righteousness becomes too much to bear. No more defending, no more excusing. I take them at face value now. There are certainly issues with the ethanol mandate, but grain exports help the trade deficit a lot, made huge by all the crap we buy from China, as policy supports their military via trade with a slave labor partner.
There are more democratic nations we should be trading with first. But the Clintons and Democrats seem to love Mao and communism, and their bribes. But Americans may be tapped out, and the mythical China capitalist buyer has not magically congealed out of all the globalist hyperbole. doom doom doom ... slow train out. I honestly haven't read any Blake biographies because I was afraid knowing his life story would color my take on his work. For example, I can't stand the art of Marcel Duchamps any more after I found out he was a genuinely awful human being. Posted by: troyriser at February 01, 2016 09:18 AM (UWlp+) 280
Blake wasn't awful although he tended to get into arguments with some of his friends. He was just eccentric. I think Peter Ackroyd does a well balances view of Blake while having a great deal of affection for him. I like Blake's works and it didn't put me off.

Trump says we must help the guy dying on the street, as a response to claims he wants single payer. He also says no, repeal and replace. Of course we already take care of the homeless and put too many on Medicaid. But the bigger issue first, is not putting half of the third world on our Medicaid and other entitlements. @277 they mentioned "lesbian". I suspect this person is conflating the Christian belief that homosexuality is immoral, with thinking that these Christians must believe in works righteous.
In other words, this person comforts herself over her butthurt by imputing base motives to Christians, without proof. The kind of homosexual bitterness that would prefer to see western civilization destroyed than to be free to live how she wants alongside people who disagree with her.
