Norwegian Woman Claims to be Trans-Species, a Cat Trapped In a Human Body

From @rdbrewer, meow-she says meow-she is the victim of a "genetic defect" which makes meow-her a transcat.

The more civilized a society is -- or the more decadent; I am beginning to wonder if Conan of Cimmeria wasn't right that they're essentially the same -- the more time and space people have to indulge in play and fantasy.

Of course, this is, in the main, a good thing. Having to find food and water for oneself every single day might have the admirable effect of focusing one's mind on practical, tangible reality, but daydreaming, play, fantasy, storytelling, art and oral sex are nice luxuries to be able to indulge in.

Decadence is wonderful, really -- for as long you can afford it.

But, of course, when a society becomes so insulated from reality -- due to its wealth and domination over the environment -- it might lose itself dreaming.

The thing is, this can only go on for a short period, because reality will, ultimately, reimpose itself. A society that begins forgetting about the exacting rules of reality will soon lose its wealth and its soft cushions against the fundamental hardness of the world.

It is a strange thing indeed that in objectively bad economic times -- these are hard times, hustling times, scarce times -- we are simultaneously cursed with the strange dreamings of excessive wealth. I don't think that many people believed, during the Great Depression, that they were cats trapped in the bodies of humans.

I think they were more practical minded. Which is what then permitted them to rebuild and become prosperous again. And ultimately begin lapsing into dreamworlds in the seventies.

Yet here we are in objectively hard times, which should, if we are to ever scramble out of our predicament, produce hard thinking, yet we continue on this descent into indulgence and decadence.

These are hard times, but they do not produce hard thinking. They don't even produce soft thinking. They produce non-thinking. They produce psychosis.

They produce waking dreams, and not even dreams of the more interesting sort.

Where are the piles of gold we ought to be sleeping upon, if we are to dream so indulgently? We have our decadence, but where is our opulence to prop it up?

Strange days, and bad ones.

This girl is not some unique weirdo. here is an entire massive subculture of people who consider themselves "otherkin" -- people who are other species trapped in human bodies.

Apparently 13 of Tumblr is teenage girls claiming to be cats and dragons and elves and wolves.

This girl is actually a run-of-the-mill otherkin.

The old fogeys writing the article about her are apparently unaware that she is one of a million similar girls. it's a fas sweeping the younger set.

I often wonder whether they've since attempted to retroactively implement the Holdren plan, and made a cackhanded mess of things as usual, and accidentally introduced huge doses of LSD instead. Because it surely does seem that people are flat-out tripping balls all over the place.

People are more upset when they kill animals in movies/tv than when they kill people so it follows that's the next logical step for the progtards, becoming a whole other species since they loathe the culture, species, (sex) and race they are born into. Since cats can't legally vote (yet, or so far only in Dem states along with the dead) I'm all for it.

It's also been a sci-fi standard that at some point humans will gain the technological ability to morph themselves into shapes they find more pleasing.

I will look good on the tombstone of Western Civ.

Sums up a concept I've been noodling over for some years now; that we can have all this bizzarro-world non-thought because it is an affordable overhead cost carried by the productivity of society generally. Except that the annual increase in overhead is threatening the whole structure now.
Well, and that the overhead is now widely viewed as the whole object of the thing.

"Otherkin Are People Too; They Just Identify as Nonhuman

Otherkin are people who identify as partially or entirely nonhuman. A dragon, a lion, a fox—you name it—there is probably someone out there who feels like they are more these things than they are human. The otherkin community can be found lurking on Reddit, Tumblr, TV Tropes, and other online forums.

The popularity of the otherkin phenomena seems to have been steadily increasing—particularly on Tumblr—since 2012. But what does it mean to truly believe you're nonhuman? Do people genuinely wake up one day and think that they are a fox or is this just a bizarre form of escapism? Is it body dysmorphia or fantasy?

I spoke to John on Reddit, a 19-year-old from Knoxville, USA, known on the web as Noslavic. He introduced himself: "I am a red fox-kin who was, as we call, awakened about a year ago." "

...etc.

But he would usually say "Cimmerian." Saying he's a barbarian is like saying he's "from Europe" -- there are a lot of barbarian tribes.

Nowadays our problems are spiritual and psychological in nature. There's no problem with having enough food or staying warm or otherwise physically comfortable, but fewer people have strong relationships so they are always on the edge of what is basically exile even though they don't go anywhere.

I watched a short documentary about them - the only animal in the world (apparently) to have evolved the hunting technique of "move so slowly they prey does not even realize you are slowly capturing them." Every other animal is either "pounce/grab as fast as possible" or "hunt to exhaustion" or "blindside the prey" or the other hunting techniques. Slow Lorises instead move one millimeter per minute until, without the prey (usually a bug or whatever) even noticing that the environment is changing -- until it is in the slow loris's paw, and it's too late.

I like slow.

Pointing and laughing IS a treatment for her mental illness.

It's called "public ridicule" and "shaming."

It works rather well actually, if applied consistently.

The optional application of "Wow, dude, that's seriously fucked up" is also a treatment option.

That's the "lie in wait and then suddenly pounce" technique, which several predators have. Slow Lorises are unique in that they never pounce or move quickly at the conclusion of the slow stalking. It's just slow, slow, slow, almost invisibly moving, until the thing is eventually in your paw.

After getting people to pay him for having my Grandfather do odd jobs (at the age of 12 or 13), it became too much for him.

My Grandfather ran off in fear. When he came back he found his father dead.

If there were any, they were locked up in insane asylums... we're too enlightened to do that today, of course...

I agree with your overall point tho and was actually thinking along these same lines today... the human race has really regressed and I don't see how much longer we can survive. We have ISIS barbarians on one side and crazy people like CatLady, on the other. In the middle we have Europe happily handing their countries over to ISIS and America. Stuck in the middle. We are slouching to extinction. We have just about run our course. America must save itself first. A weak America leads to all kinds of trouble.

Trump 2016. My favorite part of his "Make America Great Again" slogan is the "Again" part. "Again" conjures up happy memories of America during Reagan or heck, even just seven years ago. Before all this gay agenda victories. Before CatLadies. Before "cis gender". Before ISIS. "Again" sounds good right about now. The past was a good place in many ways. I remember during '12 Dems said the "R" stood for "Reverse" and I said, "GOOD!" I like reverse. I like the past far more than the terrifying future Dems have planned. Reverse course is a good thing. 347 Depression suicides: A neighbor family here had a story. Let's see, "Mr. Bill" the grandfather that I knew, was WWII generation, sailor in the Pacific Theater, and died, oh, over 10 years ago.

He told the story of his father during the Depression. He was a local banker, and the family was relatively well to do. One night, dear old Dad went up in his study on the second floor and blew his brains out. He was ruined. In the fireplace, they found all the notes and mortgage papers his bank was holding burning the fireplace.

He actually let those people off the hook, burning the documents. But he was ruined and his bank was ruined, depositors wiped out and all that. He just blew his brains out.

That left young Mr. Bill and his mother in dire straits. Ol' Bill, even those many years later, still hated his father for that. You could see the pain and rage in his eyes.

437 When science explained away much that was supernatural, people tended to move away from fearing things like demons or vampires, and gravitated more towards alien abductions.

The problem here is, we still don't have a good handle on what consciousness actually is, so people can say things like, "I was a cat in my former life, but my soul attached itself to a human body by mistake", and you can't refute them directly.

If we ever solve the hard problem of consciousness, this particular form of nuttiness will become as unthinkable as the idea that Thor causes thunder storms. Of course tben it may just adopt another form.

You never change your socks

And the little streams of alcohol

Come trickling through the rocks

And the railroad bulls are blind

There's a lake of stew

And of whiskey too

You can paddle all around them in a big canoe

I wish Zombie was joking. This stuff is what the transgender bullshit is opening the door for. Many years ago, I had a girlfriend who decided she was one, then decided she was actually a vampire and joined a cult. It's an absolutely dangerous form of mental rot that basically replaces somebody's reality with a fantasy impenetrable to reason, and they see everything through the lens of it.

The transgenders push the idea that a soul can be born into the wrong body, and the otherkin are what happens when people who want to be the most special of the special snowflakes get a hold of it. They're like "well, why limit it to the human range? I'm a dragon!"

Because species is just a social construct, or something. And this is what happened because our ancestors didn't let the stupid people get eaten by leopards.

564 The Horde seems to be slipping a bit. Over 560 comments, and no one mentioned the most important part: she's a ginger. No soul, and all that.

Just leave me one arm with which to work the remote control, play Candy Crush on my "smart" phone, shovel highly processed poison in the form of junk food into my face, and pull the lever for Democrats!

571 Cultural Conservatives tried to warn the libertines that acceptance of homosexuality would lead to this avalanche of debauchery. You can't say you weren't warned, Ace.
