They can't use the name YES since Steve Howe and Alan White own the name and are quite happily still using it.

My wife got me a year's membership in Amazon prime for Christmas. So far I have seen nothing worthwhile in it other than free shipping which you can get with any $35 order anyway.

I went through 32 pages of their free streaming movies this morning and found only one which I may want to see if my shitty bandwidth will support it. Relax, Trump was just being polite. Although admittedly, just the thought of it actually happening does give you that "ants under your skin" feeling:

Speaking to a crowd at a Portsmouth, N.H., rally hosted by Scott Brown on Saturday, Donald Trump said the former senator would make a very good vice president. A member of the audience floated the idea of a Trump Brown ticket in 2016.

"Vice president hey, that sounds like it could, hey, hey, very good," Trump responded. "Hey, you know what? And hes central casting. Look at that guy. Central casting," he added. "Hes great. Great guy and a great, beautiful, great wife and family. So important."

That "large profit" crap is just more lies from the unions in their constant fight to unionize Walmart. The only large workforce they have left now is the government and the auto industry restricted to Detroit and the three American companies which is shrinking.

The unions are gradually becoming defunct in the US and the expected ruling that they can not force payments from non-member government workers will further their decline.

Probably 40% of our non-grocery purchases through the year are via E-Commerce, with most of that being Amazon.

Using thee Roku devices, with our 50MBPS Fios, we use Prime video on a fairly regular basis as well.

If I spend time really diligently searching for better bargains then Amazon, can I?

In some cases, yes.

But for $8.00 a month, I find it worth the time and convenience.

Raise the cost much over $100.00 per year though, and I'm done.

Sen. Ted Cruz says as president, he would tear to shreds this catastrophic Iranian nuclear deal, re-impose and strengthen Iran sanctions.

87 Odd thing about B'More murder rate.

With the beginning of 2016, the rate has almost dropped by half.

Shootings are still going on,but the survival rate, or simple extremity wounding is much higher then the fatal headset/center mass multi-hit, style shootings which we were experiencing up to New Years day.

Something really does seem to have been altered in the equation.

And the city police are not talking about it.

Did a key player get taken out/move on/arrested?

Has an alignment of different factions take place?

Who knows.

90 Last month, House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan
successfully pushed through Congress his $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that funds visas for nearly 300,000 temporary and permanent Muslim migrants over the next 12 months.

The omnibus bill also funded sanctuary cities, illegal alien tax credits, and changed federal law to allow for a massive increase in low skilled H 2B workers an immigration expansion opposed by more than nine in ten GOP voters. Yet at the first gathering of all House Republicans since the omnibuss passage, Politico reports that GOP lawmakers gave Ryan a standing ovation at the close of this weeks Republican Congressional retreat.

As to Gorelick and Amazon, unfortunately I am a fan of the company. They provide very good service in my experience.

In a way, it reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend's mother a long time ago. She hated people who bought anything German or Japanese (born in NYC in 1930 for context). I was surprised I had to remind her about people like Henry Ford and products like Pepsi and so forth. So if she was going to boycott on that basis, she'd have very few choices of things to buy!

But, war's over. All friends now, what what.

I don't think so. Why would Trump potentially deliver salvos of destruction to a potential running mate and vice versa?

When one of them wins it all and then picks the other, they are going to have to be dodging a ton of nasty flak instead of beating up on Hilary, Bernie, Choo Choo Bidet, whomever.

I think Trump let it out of the bag at the debate. He admitted that the only reason he was doing it was because Cruz was gaining on him and Ted then was forced to take the gloves off.

Whatever they talked about at that meeting last summer in NY Valuestown, it's now moot.

No.

Sustainable, non logistics support, SHTF type scenario?
Yes, as it is too basic a weapon to fail quickly.

Hunting?
Some people use them for such and enjoy it.

Then consider the Mosin Nagant M-44

Shorter then the more common 91/30.
Still a heavy weapon, but more manageable barrel length.

Probably my favorite for shooting at the range, as they have a propensity to shoot volleyball size fireballs at dusk.

158 Time to make some laundry detergent. We started making our own powdered detergent about a year ago. Clothes come out nice and soft, no fabric softener necessary (we do use dryer sheets in the winter but only for their anti-static properties.)

Here's how to do it:

You need 2 cups Arm & Hammer washing soda, 2 cups 20-Mule Team Borax and about a half a bar of Ivory soap, grated with a cheese grater.

Using a large food processer or mixer and bowl, blend the grated Ivory soap with one of the powders (the washing powder or the borax, doesn't matter which.) When they are well blended, add the other powder and mix well again.

Store in a tightly-lidded container. We just use a wide-mouthed glass jar from the dollar store.

Cheap, easy, and better than any store-bought detergent. It's very concentrated. 2 tablespoons is enough for a large load.

By the end of this week, the wind will shift again and we will see highs in the 50s.

The inconsistency is almost more wearying than the cold itself. I almost just stay in bed for a day or two while the wintry days go by.

Therein lies a story. There was a 93 year-old fellow, Leon, who lived down the street. I only knew him well enough to stop and say 'hello' now and then. His wife had passed away some years ago, and he lived alone.

I did know a little of his history though. Among other things, he was a WWII Naval officer.

Leon decided that he just couldn't take care of himself and the house anymore, and so he moved to assisted living. When he sold the house, he just left. Just packed some clothes and minor stuff, and walked away.

The new owner is a speculator who is going to rip out the inside and and do a re-hab. One day I saw that the de-construction had begun, and so I walked in to take a look. The place was pretty much torn apart, plaster walls and ceilings being pulled down.

There was all kinds of personal stuff among the debris. Pretty depressing. At any rate, as I walked through the house, and there among a desultorily swept pile of plaster dust and bits of board was an Honor Air Cap and badge.

I was pretty pissed off, not that Leon would leave it, but that the assholes working on the house would treat it with such disrespect. I doubt that they even knew what it was for.

I picked it out of the trash pile, and brought it home.

There's more to this story, but that's enough for a Sunday morning.

211 I think some of these mandatory training classes help give the uninformed/inexperienced the idea that after they take these courses, they are qualified to carry and use a gun in a conflict situation.

They're NOT.

The more and more I've been learning (more) the less and less I'm pleased about having to carry one.

And, (if I do say so myself because of experience) I know that I can properly make the decision to fire or not fire because I have. In one case, I chose not to retrieve my weapon even though I was being threatened with bodily harm. But the threat was only words spoken while I was not physically present in front of the guy. I went and made myself scarce until the guy's sister calmed him down. (He was drunk and had some beef with me that I have no idea what it was. And he had broken her door down to get to me.)

I've only reluctantly decided to carry a firearm because of the irresponsible people who are in power in Congress/the White House/Most state governments.

They've consistently been coming down in favor of those who put law abiding citizens at risk.
