It Gets Worse: GOP's Spanish Language SOTU Rebuttal Doesn't Even Mention the Barebones Nods to Border Security that Nikki Haley Did; Instead Promises to Find Way to Legalize Those in the "Shadows"

Oh yeah, totally, let me get on board with this corrupt, corporate anti-American organization.

Haley's version, for English speakers:

At the same time, that does not mean we just flat out open our borders. We can’t do that. We cannot continue to allow immigrants to come here illegally. And in this age of terrorism, we must not let in refugees whose intentions cannot be determined.

Mario Diaz-Balert's version, for Spanish speakers:

It's essential that we find a legislative solution to protect our nation, defend our borders, offer a permanent and humane solution to those who live in the shadows, respect the rule of law, modernize the visa system and push the economy forward.

Thanks to the Warden.

NPR's Article: They noticed it too.

Oddly enough, it is leftwing outlets telling us this.

I guess the rightwing outlets didn't notice, for some reason.

Are they correct?

Will you let them get away with this one more time?

Don't think about how your guy is okay and vote him back in. That's the problem we keep voting in "our guy" and they keep letting the GOPe shit all over us.

Vote for the libertarian, the independent write a candidate in.

If enough people did that, the results would be shocking.

At least vote for a Republican for President so as to keep any potential Democrat Congress from going crazy.

And that's what is at risk of course and they know it.

Well we need to stop being afraid of a Democrat Controlled Congress. Remember LIB? That's what will happen if they get control of Congress again.

Let the LIV's finally learn what happens when the people who do the work, stop.

It gets worse:

"a permanent and humane solution to those who live in the shadows,

So they want a permanent "solution" to people who are
- rule respecting
- economy pushing

Illegal aliens don't do either, since they abuse welfare and violate this country's laws. That leaves the law-abiding citizens, who are overshadowed by illegals, yet follow the law and do the work that keeps the economy going.

We'll just seize all that money and give it to the vets and the families of the killed service members and the families of people killed by illegals.

It's because you squatted here and enjoyed the protection they provided to you. It's also a tax for all the misery you've caused. And now that you've paid it, leave.

Those of us that aren't the far left see only two totalitarian Big Government parties. Isn't this America? Shouldn't we have a choice in how our government is run?

Actually, I believe the money is there but the Traitor In Chief won't make it a priority so it's not getting done.

I think he's not quite got the same outlet as the GOPe does about the illegal alien problem.

It's a problem for the country both politically and economically and we can't exist much longer as the US without securing out borders.

That the GOPe is willing to ignore that just for the possibility that they might garner a few more votes is treasonous on their part.

323 There are serious logistical issues with deporting 11 million (the number they're giving us, but it is much higher) illegal aliens. However, strictly applying the laws already on the books would help. Start by defunding sanctuary cities, put employers who knowingly hire illegals in jail and levy huge fines, stop paying government benefits to illegals (including schooling their kids for free and free medical care) and some of this might start working out. Find all the illegal visa overstays and deport them. No hearing, just put them on a plane and send them home with no reentry for 10 years.

Try not allowing employers who have employees that don't have matching SSN/Name/DOB to deduct employee wages from their business taxes?

There would be nothing like getting a letter from the tax man saying your three cheap-as-dirt employees' wages are as deductable as the Camaro you bought for your daughter with the company credit card to reconsider the quality of employee you would like to hire.

1) stop the in flow of invaders. Without that, any other actions taken will be a waste of time and money.

2) tighten up visa rules and track in and out by electronic chip on a card.

3) raid businesses known to hire illegals and round up any illegals. Fine the businesses and close them for repeat offense.

4) stop catering to non english speakers.

5) tax/fine/fee for money being sent out of the country to the major locations of the homes of the invaders. Reduce the advantage to coming here.

6) offer a sign up for any who can prove (via income tax returns on a legal SS number or tax number) that they have been productive residents for over 10 years. They will be on the track for citizenship in another 5 years.

7) anyone else found gets the boot.

most of my neighbors in this upscale part of Lost Angles have them, and the market would dry up if they suddenly had to pay withholding taxes, w*rkman's comp, file I-9s, etc.

374 Dack, the man who murdered Kate Steinle in SF had been deported five times. Said that the reason he was in SF was because it was a sanctuary city.

The Ukrainian criminals that were caught on our ranch had served time in US jail and then been deported. They came back through Mexico.

Tell that to Israel. and Hungary. And (I think ) Croatia.

Walls work.

Build the wall first as it sends the message that we're serious and it slows the inflow to a trickle that can be dealt with.

Then work on the inner stuff. the incentives and the violators who allow illegals to work. And the visa stayers.

It's not rocket science. It's just icky and there's going to be sob stories up the ying yang.

Tough. Suck it up and go back home. make YOUR home a better place. Here we'll give you money to do so. GO. HOME.

Sure.

I have no reason to believe that any of them, including Trump, will do it.

I don't follow Trump closely, but I haven't yet seen any indication he knows what's involved.

thanks, I may be completely wrong, and would be happy to be proven so, but my BS meter pegs on this thing.

378 Trump hasn't even been to the border except for that Laredo photo-op. I don't expect him to give me blueprints--just some little sign that he knows the issues.

Posted by: stace at January 14, 2016 08:47 PM (CoX6k)

Doesn't work that way with Trump. He's like Henry Ford sending his engineers back to their drawing boards when they told him a V-8 motor was impossible. He just said, "build it anyway".

No man can achieve a detailed grasp on all the issues that face a President, especially at this point in a campaign.

For Presidents, it's about who they put on their team, who they listen to, being shrewd and using common sense. They need a lot of luck too.

You bet. All I ask for is a sign, just some tiny little signal that he's not just spewing BS.

Haven't seen that. Maybe I missed it though.

382 "My position for years is that if a politician tells you he's going to 'build the Wall", he's lying. So far, I'm right."

A politician? Sure, I wholeheartedly agree. Trump is a businessman, builder, real estate developer who is running for office for the first and last time in his life. He's not a politician.

"Trump hasn't even been to the border except for that Laredo photo-op. I don't expect him to give me blueprints--just some little sign that he knows the issues."

Building a wall is the simplest of projects. Seriously, I don't think it gets any easier.

"just some little sign that he knows the issues."

Uh, that's his life's work. He knows the issues.

"If you don't take away the incentives, a barrier is worth nothing."

It's not worth nothing. It's an integral piece, a major component. Walls work.

OK, that's a trust thing, and I get that. Everyone decides that in their own way.

385 "You bet. All I ask for is a sign, just some tiny little signal that he's not just spewing BS."

What do you expect him to do. Start hiring the laborers before he's elected? Seriously, he's not going to the moon. It's a stupid wall not a space program.

See, this is the trust problem I have. To build less than a hundred of mile of border fence in Texas, the gov had to sue 400 landowners. The fence in Tx has to be built a 1/2 mile to a mile north of the border, mostly on private land.

Can it be done? Of course!

But when I hear folks say it's the simplest pf projects, that sets the BS meter on fire.

387 "See, this is the trust problem I have"

"But when I hear folks say it's the simplest pf projects, that sets the BS meter on fire."

What does this have to do with trusting Trump? You are all over the map.

You first call out Trump as a politician who is lying then you transfer the issue to the Texas government having problems.

How do you get to stretch somebody else's history and project it on Trump?

Trump is not the Texas government. A president and the Federal government is a whole different ballgame especially since like 65-70% of the population wants the wall.

Will there be legal hurdles and obstacles? Sure, there are with every big project.

388 Late to the party, as usual, but people who don't think there is a GOPe media are kidding themselves. They cater to the McConnells and Ryans of the world, not to their readers/listeners.

Posted by: Wyatt Earp at January 14, 2016 09:50 PM (tCjRC)

389 Here's another thing, the Uniparty DOESN'T WANT a wall that's why they lie. That's why it never gets built.

Trump WANTS a wall. He's said so for years and years, and years.

It will get built if Trump is president.

Posted by: Misfortune & Pestilence at January 14, 2016 09:52 PM (yox0K)

390 Maybe the right-wing outlets DID notice, and they have just decided to withhold information from their readers/listeners, in an attempt to advance the cause.

I call that the "Ace of Spades" model of journalism.

Oh, sorry, did you forget that you admitted lying to all of us? And now you're complaining about someone else doing the same? Well, I guess it's only okay if it's you, huh?

Pot, meet Kettle.
