4 Well, I didn't. It probably sounds like a horrible thing to say, but I think the tears were faked. He's rubbing under his lower eyes before the crying even starts. All you need is some vicks-vaporub on your finger nail, put it by your eye- and poof-you get waterworks. Unless the parents were telling him their stories before the press conference I find it hard to believe that four years after Newtown-when he didn't actually know any of the victims-he's crying. Do I think some one might get choked up who didn't actually know anyone there? Yes, but no tears coursing down their face.

None of the gun law changes Barky has proposed would have prevented any of the mass shootings. But you know what would have prevented some of them? Stricter immigration laws (assuming the laws were actually enforced, which this administration would never do).

For example, if the U.S. had not allowed the Palestinian parents of Maj. Hasan to immigrate here, we wouldn't have had the Ft. Hood shootings. If Obama hadn't made it easier for foreign fiancee's to get visas, we wouldn't have had the San Bernardino shootings. And of course, although it didn't involve guns, if we hadn't allowed Chechnyan muslims to immigrate here, we wouldn't have had the Boston Marathon bombings, and if the U.S. had maintained better oversight and control of its student visa program, we wouldn't have had the thousands of dead Americans killed on 9/11.

It's not gun laws we need to change.

The election on November 5, 1968, proved to be extremely close, and it was not until the following morning that the television news networks were able to call Nixon the winner.

The key states proved to be California, Ohio, and Illinois, all of which Nixon won by three percentage points or less. Had Humphrey carried all three of these states, he would have won the election. Had Humphrey carried any two of them, or California alone, George Wallace would have succeeded in his aim of preventing an electoral college majority for any candidate, and the decision would have been given to the House of Representatives, at the time controlled by the Democratic Party.
