Obama made it easier for people to bring in foreigners on a fiance' visa. He also made it easier for foreigners known to have provided material aid to terrorist organizations to get a visa. He also, according to recent testimony by a DHS whistleblower, shut down an investigation into foreign terror orgs bringing people into the U.S. because he didn't want to infringe their non-existent "civil rights."

Like him or not, he refutes a straw-man immediately and/or doesn't allow a slight to just lay there... On NBC and ABC, esp with Stephonologophigus, he laid into their bias and twisting and it was kinda awesome... if only because very few people do it and get to come back on the air with them. It's not quite that clear-cut. One of the villain military officers had a very definite lisp with obvious implications (and gave a long speech), one of the elite stormtroopers was a woman (you could only tell by voice with the armor), and one of their most prominent bridge bunnies in one scene was a black woman. There was plenty of (human only) diversity on their side also.

Donald Trump has been a public figure for so long that everyone knows who he is and knows what he's about, at least to a certain degree. That works in his favor to such a degree that the media's attempts to destroy him have been fighting an uphill battle against decades of entrenched public perception. It's one of the few times an early frontrunner hasn't been successfully torpedoed by the media, and it probably won't happen again.

Lull in the action following the German withdrawal from San Pietro back to the high ground around Monte Cassino. Arty repositioning to keep up with the ground troops.

It has been my impression that the U.S. Field Artillery at this relatively early stage was still gaining experience in the highly mobile form of warfare in WWII (as opposed to static positions in WWI). There was frequent repositioning of artillery batteries to keep up with the ever changing fronts. That was to change when we landed at Anzio. (coming in January).

I think the Trump effect is a game-changer going forward. Anyway, the hardest thing is defeating the GOP-e. If you have a candidate who is conservative ("severely" or otherwise) with no skeletons in the closet and not afraid to open his mouth wide and loud in attacking anyone in his way, then he/she is as close to unbeatable as you can get.

You could be right that only Trump can pull this off, but I think back to Newt and the first 2012 debate in Florida. Had he kept that up. . . well, we'll never know. But for one brief moment, I thought he discovered the key.

Go figure.

He died when I was 14, so I never really got the chance to ask him much about the details.. he was usually pretty quiet about it all except when he had a few beers he would open up a bit.

When I grew up there, there were cows across the street from the Broward Mall, and it was essentially main street America everywhere. Now? It's like going to another country unless you're rich enough to be in one of the gated communities.

My brother thinks I'm mad for moving to a medium-sized city in Texas, but that kind of urban living just ain't for me, and the fact that Leftist social experimentation has "progressed" so far there makes it even less appealing.

I am no fan of Trump. If you have been following my posts this election cycle you would know that none of them are worth the time it would take me to go down and stand in line to vote.
