3 Good Morning Morons. Today is Wednesday, December 16, 2015. On this day in 1773 the Boston Tea Party occurred. Members of the Sons of Liberty disguised as Mohawk Indians dumped hundreds of crates of tea into Boston harbor as a protest against the Tea Act. It was originally called the Destruction of the Tea in Boston by John Adams.

Hey. lets spend our time making another silly decision, while waiting for the Freddie Gray jury.

46 "ut what is the best outcome for the law abiding citizens of Baltimore?"

For the Law abiding citizens?

For the Jury to base their decision on the evidence offered.

For the State, and city to allow law abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment recognized rights.

For the voters of Baltimore to realize the correlation between decades of Democratic rule, and the development of an entitlement attitude amongst the permanently aggrieved contingent of the population.

Just a few, in a long list of things which would be better for the City.

Since the debates are about 50% of the campaign at least, you would think that going through a few mock debates would be the best preparation for the campaign. If it's that important, you really shouldn't be practicing on live tv. Maybe in the future candidates will spend as much time mock debating as they do raising money.

Plus I don't think Obama will get to do anything as there is no way a GCM will convene, conduct a trial and the grant the mandatory appeal of his sentence if convicted, in less than a year.

Willowed from last thread.

Think about all the times though that liberals refer to right wing "extremists", when they are only trying to espouse moral principles that people have always believed. Now thatlliberals are in control, they are becoming more bold, like Sanders, but in the past they have practiced taqiyya.

I used to frequent a conservative Epuscopal blog, and there was this liberal Episcopal priest troll, Thomas B Woodward of Sante Fe, who would argue that the historic Christian church was always pro homosexual marriage, and that only recently had radical conservatives sought to hijack it. I'm not even a believer, so I had no dog in that fight, but I was shocked and disgusted at the man's dishonesty. He was delusional. No one bought what he was spewing, but he kept on and on, like an automaton.

Dr. Mabuse would back me up here.

132 It's too bad Huckabee is light in the loafers because he actually makes a great point from time to time. Responding to someone questioning the legality of surveilling mosques he says (paraphrasing):

"It doesn't violate their rights. You can go into any church in America and listen to the sermon and you might get a blessing, or you might even fall asleep. But the point is is that these are public places and the public is invited to come. So how does it violate their rights if someone wants to come and listen to see if they're saying anything nefarious. Then you take the second step of getting a search warrant and do what you have to do. That's all constitutionally protected.

If Islam is as peaceful as its adherents say, shouldn't they be begging us to all come in to hear these peaceful sermons, so we can all just want to convert to Islam?"

It's too bad he's such a knucklehead because every now and then he nails it.

165 Anyone else sick and tired of the "Republicans are running on FEAR" meme the left is promoting?

Look, because I fasten my seatbelt when I drive, does that mean I'm "living in fear" of other drivers? Does the fact that I wash my hands after handling raw chicken mean that I've "given into fear" of Salmonella? No, it means I am taking common sense measure to protect myself.

Irrational fear would be something like, oh I don't know, suspending Constitutional Rights to deny law-abiding Americans the right to own a gun.

I always make a habit of asking those people why they're silent when it comes to Islam, and when they can't supply an answer, I tell them because it's because they're bullies that only pick on those who don't fight back. I think I figured out what the deal is. Our "enlightened" ruling class has decided that since the unpeople are going to resist their power grabs (such as the NSA metadata program), they're not going to do anything. They're going to let the problem fester until the public outcry builds up to the point where people will accept anything they offered.

And then the tyranny comes good and hard without any lube.

I think hate has been given an undeserved bad name. Hate can be completely justifiable. I hate slavery. I hate tyranny. I hate oppression in all of its forms. I hate fascism, communism, and the many watered down forms of both. I hate dishonesty, I hate lies, and I hate evil.

There is nothing wrong with hate, as long as it is directed against something deserving of it. The Left's recent "hate" campaign is part of their long-running crusade against the concept that there is such a thing as absolute truth. That some things are inherently right and some things are inherently wrong.

Of course, the statement that there is no absolute truth must be taken as one, thus is self-refuting... but they never see that. Nor do they see that rejecting truth automatically rejects everything that flows from truth, and leaves them with only lies, madness, and evil.

The Army is going to replace Humvees with a new vehicle. They decided on 50,000 of the new design at approximately $375,000 each (base model).

We won WWII with Jeeps even though the enemy had landmines and grenade launchers. When we're fighting in an area with a high probability of IEDs, there will still be a need for troops in North Carolina to get to the PX.

Did anyone suggest that they buy 20% of the new vehicle, knowing if there is a need they can send them all to the hot zone? For the rest of the Army in the U.S., Japan, Korea, Germany, etc. etc. etc., give them Escalades at $80,000 each.

Trump doesn't know what a nuclear triad is, which I find spookier than anything he's said or done in his campaign so far Jeb!seemed unsure of himself, nervous and stammering, yet the pundits said he had a great night. Cruz was weasely and obfuscating on some of the more direct questions and continually went over time. Rubio, usually smooth on stage, was off his game. Christie did well, but national defense is his strength. Carly held her own--which isn't good since she's so low in the polls. Rand Paul had an amazing night, but it was too little too late, in my view. John Kasich reminded us that the GOP needs Ohio to win, so I guess he's running for VP. I'm not a geopolitical strategist, either. I'm a commercial artist from Nowhere, Indiana. Maybe I know what a nuclear triad is because I grew up during the Cold War and nukes were at the forefront of the national consciousness--it was a real fear back then. Or maybe I know what a nuclear triad is because I bother to read about current events and national affairs.

In any event, a candidate for President needs to know this stuff. And it wasn't just that Trump didn't know. It's that he tried to bullshit his way throughto offer somesemblance of an answer and as a result came off even worse. 'Nuclear is bad,'Trump said knowingly--and I'm not paraphrasing here. That's what he said. Jeebus.

Gotcha. Saw this excerpt from a review that mirrors that:
For better or worse -- and here's where my hoodie-wearing friend's thought experiment comes in -- The Force Awakens is more like a remake or a mashup of the first two Star Wars
pictures than a sequel. Yes, in technical terms Abrams and co-writers
Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt are picking up the narrative some 30
years after the destruction of the Galactic Empire at the end of Return of the Jedi.
But they barely even pretend to advance the story of the initial
trilogy; they rewind it and repeat it, with new characters substituting
for old ones but many of the same action set-pieces, narrative dilemmas
and hidden connections."

Glad my kid never got into it --- sounds like a big merchandising vehicle.
