When asked about exercising by physician, tell him/her that you've stopped because over the counter pain medications don't ease the muscle tension afterwards, and you want to spare your liver from the abuse of taking too many.

53 Our 104 year old farmhouse has a 45 degree roof - you can't walk on it, it will take your shoes off if you try - needed only half of the roof replaced since the other half was done after a tree fell through it a few years ago. In October we hired the best local company who charged us a tidy sum of $5K. They never fixed an 18" hole in the fascia, tore off the lightning protection and threw it over the peak where it's still laying on the other side of the roof, and after two weeks some of the shingles blew off. Apparently they hadn't been nailed. We're still waiting for someone to come to do the repairs and expecting the first real snow this coming weekend. Looks like our attorney is going to make some money.

After they did the estimate and the contract was signed, the worker bees discovered there were 4 - yes, 4 - layers of shingles. Apparently they went all the way back to the original construction of the house. Those guys cussed they whole time they were here - said in 35 years of roofing, it was one of the top 3 worst jobs they'd had.

57 Last week grocery shopping the older women bagging groceries was talking to women who was working the register about a roofing problem. I started asking her questions about it. She had one side done by a contractor who by the way was only working half days and didn't get back to do the second side. She got another to do it but didn't use tar paper at all. Original contractor said it w lead to problems. I explained why tar paper is needed as a extra barrier for incidental moisture protection. And getting someone else to finish while needed isn't a good idea.

Ol' Sylvester has that good reliable "black Democratium" (along with a bit of the "ghey" as well, although he's still technically "in the closet", since a lot of the Houston black power structure still does not go along with that so much) going for him, and has since he was my senior class president back in my high school days. It's just the way Houston politics "works" these days, and has for quite some time. 77 You folks talking about the steepness of your roofs should keep in mind one major thing. You will find that the houses up North typically have steeper roofs than the ones in the South. That is because over the years builders have adopted to snow. If you build flatter roofs up North the roof will become overloaded with snow and ice. Don't have that problem in the South.

79 Quick lesson, a 12/12 roof is 45 degree but in roofing terms is 12" of rise that is a line straight up from roof to a 12" run line back to roof. My house has a 4/12 so a 4" rise up from roof will get you on a level line 12" back to roof.So a 4/12 is not as steep. A roof can be virtually anything. I've framed steeples 24/12.

I admit that I have gotten heartily tired of the Republican propensity to place such a high value on talk while Democrats seem to get action. I would prefer to hear speeches or read learned dissertations only when they lead to something getting done, but that's hardly the whole story.

I really have not seen Cruz accomplish anything that has improved the lot of American citizens. I've heard him talk; but hell, I've heard Jonah Goldberg and Push Limbaugh talk, too, and I wouldn't vote for either, no matter how adept at verbalizing concepts they might be.

I'd like to know what I've missed here. Presidential elections ain't beanbag, you know.

His mail kept getting stolen out of his mailbox. He subscribed to hunting magazines. Eventually his home was broken into and his rifles stolen. Nothing else taken.

Correct. Some years ago when I first went to work for Halliburton at their facility on the west side of Houston, I was working the night shift at first. When I'd be outside grabbing a smoke at 2am I'd frequently hear the local black and hispanic gang bangers going at each other nearby.

The basic problem is that these moronic lowlifes can't shoot for shit. Invariably when they would cut loose at each other (you could tell from the sound that their weapon of choice was a 9mm handgun of some sort, no doubt stolen), it was always BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM, classic "spray and pray". As someone who has owned his share of semi-auto handguns, I can tell you that firing like that you could not hit the side of a damned barn, not unless you are within ten feet of your target, and these punks don't have the balls for that.

120 I've run thousands upon thousands of round of Freedom 9mm, .40, and .45 with no real problems.

There have been a couple of weak rounds and a couple with some setback, and maybe one dud primer (I don't remember if it was one of theirs or not).

But you can have those problems with anyone's ammo. The only thing I'll say is I prefer their new at this point. $20 more per thousand is worth it to me.

132 Roofing at a 45 degree angle? Are you just dumbing it down for the masses? I threw plywood for 20+ years and what you got there is called a 12/12 (12" up every 12" horz). Here in FL we mostly had to deal with 6/12-7/12 on nice houses, 4-5/12 on tract homes. The old 60s-70s Florida homes had 2/12 roofs because they didnt have to shed snow, but it didn't look very good aesthetically, plus you had no attic, so eventually they were all at least 4/12s. Try walking on a 7/12 roof with a full sheet of plywood in a stiff wind (and usually 90+ degree heat with no shade). Then repeat 200x. That's one house (a few days work, usually). Fun fun!
