I think google already sorts results (or is talking about doing so) based on "truth" or "truthiness"

28 We simply cannot have a president who just throws out crazy ideological ideas and then antagonizes congress into doing things his way. It's not who we are.

Christian terrorism is just as bad as islamic terrorism, it just takes a different form. Christianity uses something I like to call "systemic terrorism" where they warp the courts, government, and police into instruments of oppression. Every police killing is an act of Christian terrorism. And that's not who we are.

My dad was a gentleman farmer after he left the military- owned a small apple orchard. The only time in my life (I'm not exaggerating) that I ever heard him use a swear word was one day out in the orchard he pulled an apple off a tree, brushed some bird droppings off and said,

"Birds crap on the apples, make them taste like shit."

36 But most Muslims are peaceful ...

It occurred to me that in the middle of WW2, most Americans were peaceful. Only a small percent were military. And of the military even, most were peaceful, just providing food and building bridges, for the front lines. And even the front lines were "mostly peaceful", except when they were actually pulling the trigger.

So most of Islam is likewise mostly peaceful, but is a structure that sustains jihad by a few. And we have trouble discerning which allegedly westernized Muslims really have allegiance to America first. Some that were tortured in Iran indeed do, but others like some of the Farook family provide a support system for the trigger pullers.

A moratorium on Muslims ... ask them if they are Muslim and then follow them, or be more diligent about their country of origin, or profile them in other non PC ways. Can we put American Muslims through sensitivity training like our colleges do to conservatives? heh

48 Watching the second order echo effects from the National Front's big victories in the French regional elections the other day.

The political and media elites on both sides of the Channel are absolutely crapping their pants in panic over this. They have no idea what to do now other than to clumsily attempt to smear the Le Pens as fascists.

The rhetoric in the op-ed pieces is pure distilled hysterical shrieking. I particularly liked the one by a finger-wagging female bien-pensant which scolded the French electorate for engaging in what she called a "Dance of Death".

95 Also in recent news that got drowned out, the Roberts SCOTUS declined to hear a case challenging one Illinois city's ban on evil scary "assault rifles".

Justices Scalia and Thomas vocally and accurately complained that the case was meritorious and required a hearing in full.

I'd say that we should eliminate all immigration from everywhere until we have a government that treats it responsibly. This would include (1) having reasonable, well-considered laws, that (2) generally reflected the concerns and opportunities of a thoughtful public, that (3) were faithfully executed by a lawful executive. The default state should be "OFF", and I'm seeing that we're zero for three to turn it "ON".

They do, but they can't admit it.

Further, Trump weakens his point by suggesting Muslim citizens should not be readmitted if they travel overseas.

Like I said earlier, someone needs to play good-cop with a little better framing.

a) Severely restrict immigration from majority-Muslim states with preference for racial/religious minorities

b) Extensively screen Muslim immigrants for their past actions, writings, and participations.

c) Drench white phosphorus down the neckbeards of any Westerner who travels to fight with a terrorist organization so that if they come home it's as croutons.

Then something happened. It's not a mistake. We weren't wrong about him. He changed. I will stay with my assumption until proven otherwise: Somebody paid him off with lots of cash, or they have something really bad to blackmail him with. Either/or. I am sure of it.

367 Trump getting the Sarah treatment surprises me. He is much more moderate than she is. You would think that this past positions would be a plus to the RINOs. Instead the clowns are so tone deaf that their line of attack is to scream "He's not a real conservative!!!!!!"

368 And then another time I did one of those fake-out links to a pic of Lena Dunham (dressed, but still scary). There was banning talk.

The jury is still out on that one

They're so stupid, they'll never learn, ever notice how 98% of the time the dems don't bash their own, at least publicly

Yeah, doesn't matter how outrageous, offensive, shocking, or horrible a Democrat is, or what they say, its the wall of support and denial. So Joe Biden basically called all black people except Obama mush mouthed filthy people, shut up. So what if Hillary Clinton called Obama a "boy" in a national ad, shut up. So Bernie Sanders said all women fantasize about being raped, shut up.

The idea behind it is simple enough: they want to push people away from finding comfort in prayer and into taking action against guns. If you send prayers and comfort and thoughts, that feels like you've actually done something to help, which is enough for most people. The left wants that to stop because they need people get all wound up and angry about guns to implement their policies.

I'll tell you what is disrespectful MHP: turning a terrorist loose on the world. The family is complicit, to the extant they knew she was capable of these murders and did nothing to stop them. We call those people "accessories", and they are fully and completely liable for the damage done by their progeny, if they knew and did nothing.

So murderers they likely are, and the "respect" they probably deserve most is a quick execution.

I've been sucked in as well, I know it didn't happen but I like the what-if too, but mostly just the history that surrounds most of what they do\show.

Not a phobia when the fear arises *after* multiple large-scale attacks.

What the Uniparty doesn't seem to get is that a lot of people out in the Provinces don't care if Trump acts like a Visigoth, Vandal, or Ostragoth -- so long as he leads to the Sack of Rome DC. We have a Federal government that is wildly out-of-control, actively working against the interests of its citizens.

presidential front-runner's latest controversial statement, calling it

So ... they're upset because of something someone here said. We're upset because of something someone here did, viz., murdered 14 people. But the "citizens, politicians, and refugee officials" aren't too fussed about that, nor apparently is WaPo. "Hate speech" and "Islamophobia" >> mass murder of Americans.

And we're not "rattled." We're enraged.

Whenever I try to tell people this stuff, they act like I just made it up, like that sort of thing never happens, ever.

How many movies and tv shows have we seen where this happens? Did Hollywood make it up? Does it never happen in the real world? Which is more logical, that a politician who suddenly reverses course was gotten to, or that a grown man suddenly changes his mind after he gets elected?

462 Thing is? Trump's comments were going to be said eventually, by someone.

The Anger has been there since 9/11, and continues to grow as Islam wages war upon us...

Our Government and media have done a fine job of trying to tell us that anger is NOT OK by calling anyone angry a Racist of Bigot... and thus it has continued to silently build...

Democracies ALWAYS over react once the lid comes off... and the Racist/Bigot card has been so overplayed that it has lost its power over a large portion of the Citizenry...

The US is due to have a temper tantrum.... its inevitable at this point.

Posted by: Lauren at December 08, 2015 01:13 PM (Z/8dZ)

Most muslims did not freely choose to become muslim. They were born into it. If they exercise their natural-born free choice to leave, their religion prescribes that they be killed. And that does happen from time to time. Enough that few muslims voluntarily leave the ummah.

Few muslims have the guts to leave. And few are crazy enough, or devout enough, to take up arms and start killing us, as the religion also prescribes. But the vast majority of muslims are also pretty reticent about condemning the jihadis, because the it's the nail that sticks up that gets hammered.

I'll give him a minus for poor team communication, but it was his spokesman that said that is would apply to everyone.

And it still not a crazy idea to refuse entry to Muslim citizens (or perhaps any citizen) who travel to terror problem areas.

And so far I haven't heard any of the whiners come up with a plan* to deal with the problem. Apparently everything is A-OK.

*Trump's plan is more like a timeout to review our current system and to give us time develop something that works in response to the problems we face. But that's just crazy talk.

479 Very silly painting, but it is clear who influenced the artist.

The grapes alone are lit by a double light source --- a technique poignantly mastered by Caravaggio, who by romanticizing grapes in oil paint, probably influenced the graphic design of labels, if not the love and sales of wine, into civilized society for 600 years --- and the other items of the Harnett painting are characterized by flat shadows with no reflected light.
