Princeton is now considering changing the name of the Wilson School (which deals with politics and public affairs) because surprise-Wilson was a racist and there's some talk of changing the name of one of the main streets that runs through "Witherspoon Street" to something else because John Witherspoon-who signed the Declaration of Independence and was the college's first President apparently had two slaves in his will. The local rag asks, "Is Princeton worthy of the name of Witherspoon?" At least one professor of history says-in a remarkably logical fashion-Nobody is perfect. Let's try this again -- got willowed on the last thread. In all this streaming stuff, no one mentioned, but I'm pretty sure it would count against one's data plan. Since mine's 5 GB/month, wouldn't it be prohibitively expensive? That's why I almost never watch videos, however interesting they might sound.Posted by: Empire1 at November 27, 2015 02:45 PM (tLHIN)
Two different fish. 1. Fish number one -- internet connection through dedicated wire coming into your home. Said wire hooked up to wifi. You pick megs per second speed you want and pay accordingly. Example: I pay 82.99/month for 25 mgs per second internet. If I were to turn on all four streaming televisions, a couple laptops, a couple smartphones I *might* be using close to that number. I've tried it, no problem. 2. Fish number two -- offered by phone service providers. Prohibitively expensive. There are ways to output from smartphone to television, but you really don't want to use a telecom to do that. So a basic assumption for streaming is you already have a fat cable in your home. By 'fat' I'd say a very minimum 5 mg per second. Posted by: Abdul Miles Standish at November 27, 2015 03:04 PM (7v/r5) 165

@191 That was the collection of Jaques Littlefield, the man who proved that "He who dies with the most toys, wins." He won. He's a god in the MVPA.
He left them a complete restoration and maintenance facility, with a full staff of armorer-artificers, the best in the "hobby." There was also a foundation for funding, but none of his family had an interest in keeping up the greatest private collection in the world. No. Words. They sold off half the collection to fund giving away the rest to the Collins Foundation. Posted by: Stringer Davis at November 27, 2015 03:19 PM (xq1UY) 223

Ace has the value 'one' in the deck of playing cards, and is the lowest card in the pack because there is no 'zero' card.
So who was the genius who took the 'one' card and made it a higher value than 'king'? We start counting at 'two' to 'ten' the jack, queen, king, one. Does that seem right to you? 1:43 p.m. Police say they do not know the connection to Planned Parenthood, but that is where the 911 call came from. Police do not know the number of shooters, the containment of the shooters, or the number of victims. Police are not evacuating neighborhoods to the north of the scene, but they are asking residents to stay inside and to avoid the area. There are still people inside the nearby businesses, and police do not know if there are any hostage situations. Between Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso Sheriff's Office and State Patrol, "we are using all of our resources," said spokeswoman and Lt. Catherine Buckley. Officers do not know the type of weapon involved, except there is a rifle involved. Posted by: Mallflower at November 27, 2015 03:40 PM (qSIlh) 277

Spooky story Mahty. Ghost ships are really creepy for some reason. Just something scary and haunting about a ship full of dead people floating on the ocean for weeks or even years. Posted by: Christopher Taylor at November 27, 2015 02:51 PM (39g3+) Spooky, but not supernatural. I got a chuckle when it the story said something like "conspiracy theorists speculate that they were fishermen". Well, duh. Fishing boats, of a type long obsolete in modern countries, manned by Nork conscripts, and told not to come back without a load of fish, and provided with few or no supplies. Fleet gets caught in a storm, blown out to sea; crew perishes from starvation and/or exposure. The now ghost fleet eventually washes ashore in Japan. No conspiracy required, just circumstances known to exist. They could probably back-track the fleet by satellite imagery, you know.
