3 Yeah he tried to correct himself, but it still came out in Kerry's usual brilliant style.

Basically he's saying "well those Hebdo guys kept antagonizing the little brown people, what did they expect! But the Parisians did nothing of the sort!"

Head Diplomat of the United States.

I still think the reason the left is so freaked out is because it was Paris. If the terrorists had hit Lyon or Chartres they would have shrugged.

I'd say that's pretty generous. The population of Syria in total is about 23 million, and they estimate that at least 3 million "refugees" are trying to get to sweet welfare cash. More than 10% of the country is leaving? And most of them military age men?

For that analogy to work he would have to be talking about Syrian CHRISTIAN refugees, who, yes, are being exterminated.
Last I've read the State Dept. was *rejecting* Syrian Christians requesting asylum based on religious persecution.

I knew we were going to start hearing about the St. Louis incident. Surprised it took them this long since it's not as if those dtawing the false equivalence care how insulting it is to the innocent victims. For that matter, they are the ideological heirs of those who turned the Jews away and are more likely to be part of the anti-Israel demographic than otherwise.

Posted by: Polliwog the 'Ette at November 17, 2015 05:22 PM (GDulk)

76 "Sympathizers"?

Kerry and his boss are on the terrorists' side, actively supporting them, not merely sympathizing.

There are days I think this administration is terminally incompetent, and there are days I think this administration is unspeakably evil. Most days, it's both.

Posted by: Qoheleth at November 17, 2015 05:22 PM (iIzG7)

77 The Jews fleeing Hitler analogy would fit better if the "refugees" were families of religious minorities trying to flee an encroaching Islamic State.

Instead, they're mostly young Muslim men who are not fleeing anything. They just heard that if they walk north they'll get a bunch of money to sit around and do nothing all day.

Which -- I mean, fair enough. From their perspective, I get it.

But that's a really unfair analogy for people who are actually persecuted around the world and actually live in fear of being slaughtered in their homes.

111 Regarding the St Louis incident: by the point the ship showed up, the US had let in its maximum quota of people from Europe that year by immigration policy. The hideous yet kindly Eleanor Roosevelt begged and worked to get a bill passed to make an exception but a combination of people who hate Jews and isolationists got the bill killed in congress. Groups of clergy - Christian clergy - worked hard to let the ship put immigrants in the US, but they weren't able to get it done. FDR himself? Its hard to say, but he was worried about reelection and concerned he might up set the less Jew-friendly of his voters at the very least.

The ship then traveled to Canada trying to disembark there, but were refused as well (clergy fought in vain there, too).

I ran a WW2 era Champions game with superheroes and they saved the St Louis and got all the people safely ashore.

112 Moral justifications must be objective, otherwise they are arbitrary and do not need to be stated as moral principles ("I just like this ice cream flavor/culture better").

The left likes to state their positions as if moral principles were involved, but this is almost never the case because they would not apply these principles universally. If a french newspaper taunting Muslims merits their death, then any Muslim committing any microaggression against a non Muslim would merit the Muslim's death. Of course Kerry wouldn't agree to that, so if he were honest he should say, I'm just arbitrarily siding with the Muslims against you. Because it makes feel like an open minded rebel against The Man! Not because I'm actually interested in ethics or anything.

Fuck horseface.

So it turns out that there is still a community of Aramaic speakers. They have a bible called the Peshitta.

Mel Gibson, to his credit (I am first and foremost a linguist), hired a bunch of people to translate his script into Aramaic.

I think it's worse than that. I think that the kind of people that are drawn to jobs like politicians, reporters, govt administrators or judges are just sociopathic shitstains.

They enjoy tyrannizing, controlling, or bamboozling other people, which is why they gravitate to such professions. Perhaps good government was destined to fail for this reason. Decent people want to delegate this responsibility, but only shitheads want the job. Maybe it cannot be delegated.

Besides, those "refugees" from Syria probably reject the whole reality of the holocaust anyway. So they are probably not thrilled to be called Jews.

343 Potential silver lining - please bear with me, it is going to come out disjointed:

The trojan horse debacle is an opportunity. An opportunity for us to insert our own patriots into the bellies of these Pretty & Shiny Compassion Horses. Men and women that will slit the throats of the enemy soldiers well before they pour out. Well before they know there is a true warrior in their cowardly midst.

Numbers vary, but I hear 15-25% of all muslims worldwide are willing to use violence in order to proselytize via radical fundamentalist islamic jihad (or they at least condone it, right).

So, what about the other 75-85%? We get intel from muslims, not sure what percent, but we do. American muslims have put themselves at risk in order to do what they can to protect this nation. Again, not sure how many, but, there it is. They have and they do.

I like to think that our covert warfare organizations could recruit quite a few Syrians. For simple pay back and retribution. They'd be able to show their bona-fides for joining that club.

Hell, we could fake their bona fides for them, if they aren't from The Land of Very Bad Things.

Point is that a certain percentage could very, very easily become double agents as it were. Now, that is. You know, strike while the iron is hot.

I like the imagery of the bloodthirsty cowards entombed in their Pretty Statue with their throats cut.

Better yet, how about the Brazen Bull?

At any rate, use their own G-D weapon against them. You know? The Element of surprise is strong in this strategery.
