Well after last night's rather pathetic ONT performance I was tempted to just repost it again and call it a night. But instead I'm just giving you this - which is really more than you deserve.

Why GPS Always Overestimates Distances
Have you had a suspicion that your GPS app is overestimating the distance traveled? It is something that runners and walkers complain about a lot. If so, you are probably correct -- but the reason isn't an algorithmic glitch. The answer lies in the statistics, and it is a strange story. If you make a measurement and it is subject to a random unbiased error, then you generally are safe in assuming that the random component will make the quantity larger as often as it makes it smaller. Researchers at the University of Salzburg (UoS), Salzburg Forschungsgesellchaft (SFG), and the Delft University of Technology have done some fairly simple calculations that prove that this is not the case for GPS distance measurement. Consider the distance between two points - this is along a straight line, and hence it is the shortest distance. Now add some unbiased random noise, and guess what? This tends to increase the distance. So unbiased errors in position give rise to a biased overestimate of the distance. There is an exact formula for the bias and in some cases it can be more than 20%. Is there a solution? Perhaps using velocity measurements and time to work out distance is better - it isn't biased in the same way, but how accurate it could be remains to be seen. So when your fitness band tells you you have run a 4-minute mile - don't believe it.

I know it's 1938. Studebaker made the last Dictator in 1937. It became the Commander in '38, but essentially the same car. And they did sell them in Europe, and around the world.
I have a 12-point driver for those screws, made by Hazet (Germany). Fits a 3/8 ratchet. Insert the bit into the socket, after blowing out any debris lodged there, and give it a good whack straight-on with a hammer. The slight shock is usually enough to make unscrewing it fairly easy. Please don't try to turn those 12-point screws with a 6-point Allen wrench.

True story. About two years ago, I did a 1 mile time trial on a HS track. I had to dodge other (slower) runners, so it's not exact, but my Garmin watch had me finishing the mile about 50m before the finish line.
Not a huge error, but it's the difference in a sub 6 minute mile and a very pedestrian 6:01

Just using on coordinate, say an x-axis, we get some measurement x +/- d, where 'd' is the error, can be positive or negative. Now square that to get: x^2 +/-2xd + d^2.

Well neither one is fat. But based on recent photos I do think Kate's body fat % has slowly been rising. That said she's still hawter than 94% of all women exactly as she is but I do think her optimal look would be 5-10 pounds lighter.

Yes, spherical trig is being used, and it's thus different from a basic planar calculation. Basically, you are doing a 3D position calculation, involving relativistic corrections of timing data. If you apply the heat directly to the stuck bolt, say with a small-tip acetylene torch, the engine case will never even get warm. Having said that, I have dealt with VW CV joint screws many, many times, and using the right tool, they have never given me trouble. In fact, my future agenda includes replacing CV boots on a '90 Jetta for a friend of mine. Impact driver is a fine idea.

Crudely cut the CVs from the trans (Torch saw) and work at dismantling those bolts in the garage. Soaking with penetrating oil and cycling temp some. You can look up the Coefficient of expansion on the magnesium vs the bolt material (if it's magnetic just go with iron). Which will give you which side to apply the heat to to break the bond.

Now, if you do the actual distance calculation, with all three coordinates and look at the error formula, it gets more complicated. It tunrs out to depend on the difference in error between all the coordinates. If the error in each were the same, then the total error would cancel, just like normal.
However, if there is no correlation between errors in each coordinate, then the sum of errors will be biased positive.

Get the right socket and one of the little gray 1/4 inch lithium impact drivers from Harbor Frieght, I use it ALOT in motorcycle salvage yards and lately on a '73 Benz 450SE and its perfect for those small bolts that have been stuck in aluminum or magnesium for a while. item#68568, its a little spendy
but if you are turning wrenches, you'll come up with other uses.

So when I am trying to determine pretty, I think a lot is really more about who I'd like to look like.

A child's copybook was the ruled, blank-page booklet where children
practiced their penmanship back when that mattered in the

Under no circumstances do you give a cat that has Giardia pate. Its room clearing and I mean that very literally.
It starts with gas that is so foul, it is indescribable. Far worse than a gangrenous bowel.
The cat stops and tries to lick it away but its so disgusting it can't put its head down there.
Then, the explosive diarrhea, as the cat tries to run away from a spreading it everywhere.
The poor thing is miserable and terrified as this horrible foul beast comes rolling out of its ass. Made worse as you chase it with a trash basket and kitchen spatula desperately trying to catch the flying proteinaceous Giardia fermenting shitstorm.
Eventually, anyone left in the room, collapses in a gagging pre vomitus state and crawls weekly towards the door. The miserable kitty is too weak to do much and has soiled itself and you in indescribable ways. At the same time, you vomit then depreciate yourself, asking whatever possessed you to try and give pate to kitty as a treat.
You feed kitties some water by and drop her and clean the poor thing up and get it nice and warm and comfy and it pays off to sleep and then you get out your Bissell spot cleaner and realize it's way too small...

Some nights I have to put them out again, it gets so bad in the box, even when I clean it right away. That stench hangs in the air for hours.

I'm so sensitive to it, I'll go nearly crazy at does over 20mg per day. I'll get wired, and after a few days, I can't sleep and I'm so wired I'm climbing the walls.
And it absolutely sets of GERD something awful.
I only use it a little during bad flares of this damn stuff, and no more than 10mg per day at that, and for no more than 3 days. Unless it gets really bad, I'll just deal with the flare rather than mess with prednisone.

Modern technology usually simply ends up with a popped circuit breaker but has been known to start fires in old crappy wiring...

I have to say other than the weight gain and insomnia, I didn't have too many issues. I was on it for a few months both times. And I have taken them for 2 weeks a time or two (for Bells Palsy once and Shingles once)
The second time I was on them I messed up my dosage as I was tapering off and ended up having convulsions all night, which was scary.

At 48, I've already had my right hip replaced, and both knees are candidates for replacement, bone-on-bone. I could pull the trigger and get any one of those replaced, now, but I'll go as long as I can probably.

The latest they think they have something, a "vaccine". Well, you'd call it more immuno-modification I think. Now, it's so costly and time consuming, it can't go into production, but they've figured out a way to take your own immune cells, modify them, and inject back into you and that desensitizes your immune system from attacking your self tissue.
With RA, IIRC, it's some protein that is found in joint tissue. There's some trigger that causes your immune system to react and start trying to fight that self protein.
So, figure out a way to stop the immune system from doing that. And that is very difficult thing to do. The immune system is one complicated beast.

It's actually not that in this instance. There's a guy I regularly go shootin' with on Mondays, and we tried a different range that was a ways distant last Monday.....and, as it turns out, he forgot his jacket there so we did the same range again tonight -- and traffic, it was Teh Suckage!!!!!
We tried a little CZ RAMI that just felt like a cap pistol to me. He got good results from it, but it just felt too small to keep from wandering and my results were ugly. We switched to a CZ 75B and I saw immediate improvement, even when pushing the target to the far end of the range. I still dislike the CZ's "half the trigger travel does nothing" philosophy, however.
