Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | John Oliver, Last Month: Boy, Those Fox Chuckleheads Sure Are Paranoid Ninnies to Think That Terrorists Might Smuggle Themselves Into Europe With the Rufugees!HBO's Progressive Televangelist John Oliver delivered a 17 minute sermon to the faithful last month, telling all the true believers that their enemies were sinful and slothful and that the Kingdom of Heaven of the Strange Gods was at hand. He mocked the idea that terrorists would, or could, infiltrate Europe with Syrian migrants, and invited his flock to laugh at the heathens who thought maybe they could. Well, despite having a 48 hour lead time, John Oliver wasn't quite ready to address the Paris attacks in last night's show. So he just did a two minute segment in which he called the terrorists "f***ing assholes" and praised the French for their pastries. He then said, "If you're picking a Lifestyle and Culture war with the French, good luck!" This incredibly stupid hot wet Chinese Food Fart of reality-dodging sophistry is being praised among the Cult of the Left for its daring. Vox claims it's "exactly the right way" to deal with the terrorists; the Daily Beast moistens its panties to praise John Oliver for breaking out the Big Guns against Terror: routine profanity favored by idiot bloggers who are entirely impotent of power and so who shout Nasty Things at the great big world they can't actually touch in any meaningful way. They don't seem to notice that IS did not mount a "Lifestyle and Culture war" against the French; rather, they have, in a series of attacks over the past year (remember Charlie Hebdo?), launched an actual war, a bullet and bomb war, against France. Yes, John Oliver, the French culture is immensely superior to the joyless death-cult of the Islamists. Well-spotted, as they might say in England (and bien vu as they'd say in France0. But unfortunately, a war is not won when two sides get together on the field of battle and show off to each other who produces the best pastries, the best fashion, the best Progressive Televangelist Rants which "DESTROY" the opponent, nor the best #HashtagMemes. Wars are not won or lost the way gang wars are won or lost in 80s movies, that is to say, with a dance-off. They are won with guns and with men capable of and willing to use those guns. There is in fact a moderate, Western-influenced, relatively secular group of people in Iran. Yet they do not control the country. Why not? Because power is ultimately determined by what the people capable of using violence believe, and in Iran, the people who are good at using violence are Islamist thugs. It's not that the left is so stupid as to be incapable of understanding reality; though that does, of course, play into it. The problem is that they are a Manichean religious cult which has certain extreme religious views, and anyone questioning those views will be deemed heretic and thrown out of the cult and ostracized. So it's more a failure of moral and intellectual courage than of intellectual capacity. They could see the truth, and they could possibly speak the truth, but they are, as C.S. Lewis observed, Men Without Chests. The faux intellectual class is in fact studiously anti-intellectual; they are simply the most degenerate sort of priestly class, the priests who do not actually read or study, but just pass what seems like wisdom from one stupid mouth to one imbecile ear.It is not excess of thought but defect of fertile and generous emotion that marks them out. Their heads are no bigger than the ordinary: it is the atrophy of the chest beneath that makes them seem so.They're not stupid, so much as they are cowards; and the ultimate retreat for the ultimate coward is the full flight from reality, the retreat to the #SafeSpace of fuzzy dreams of the way they wish the world were. You can always tell when Reality is becoming too #Problematic for progressives: the number of blog posts on fucking tv shows skyrockets. The more Reality brutalizes them, the more they lock themselves inside the #SafeSpace of the Eternal Church of the Holy Tele-Vision. Meanwhile, a French outlet had a recent "how silly" article about the possibility of terrorists infiltrating the continent with the refugees. That article has now been slightly revised. (By the way, I think I was the first English speaker to promote that to the English speaking blogosphere.) On this, the left is resorting to its fantasy world again in crowing that the Syrian passport found by one suicide bomber is fake. Okay, it's fake; but he still provably infiltrated Europe disguised as a Syrian refugee. The proof is incontovertible; he was fingerprinted coming into Greece with migrants, and then fingerprinted again in Serbia as he moved up through Europe. So whether the passport was fake or not, it is still a terrorist infiltrating Europe in the guise of a refugee, just as reasonable people warned (and just as the Cult of the Left insisted was borderline impossible). Asylum Skeptics said, "We can't tell terrorists from refugees." Now comes a terrorist passing himself off, successfully, as a refugee, and taking part in the slaughter of 132 human beings, and the left somehow... claims they are vindicated?! But as I keep saying, a coward will flee a fight, but the ultimate in cowardice is a full-speed flight from reality. The ordinary coward flees the fight; the new breed of coward claims there was never a fight in the first place to flee, it was just a #FalseRacistNarrative. And having appalled us all not just with their physical cowardice (which is understandable enough) but their ontological cowardice as well, these simpering assholes then have to pollute the world further with their six billionth treacly, truckling rendition of Imagine. Judging from what I'm seeing on Facebook, a lot of people have this idea that it takes two sides to make a war. Which might be true semantically, but a one-sided war is far more violent and bloody. Posted by: Stephen Price Blair at November 16, 2015 07:36 PM (2lndx) 14
Last month Oliver did a whole 30 min'ish episode taking down the evil, fake televangelists who raise money by promising to pray away the donor's health issues, but he doesn't have the guts to call out the truly evil, dangerous religious nut-jobs by name in his 2 minute spiel.

I am surrounded by French people every day as my daughter attends a French immersion school. Even the French who leaned left have dramatically gone the other way. As to this stupid rant by the comedian, I think the French people that did like it were simply finding some levity a few days after the attacks. They realize it was it was said in jest.
I keep saying it, but when Francoi Hollande vows to pummel ISIS, and then drops bombs on their capital the following day, it shows that even the most liberal there can have a change of heart. I'm glad he finally found his balls - and it puts Obama to shame. Of course, this willl now pave the way for Le Pen in the upcoming elections, but I think France might finally be ready. The Left only has its narrative. It cannot see reality through the fog of this narrative, so they guess at the noises they hear through the fog, of what reality looks like. That's why they're so often wrong, and why they never get it right.

74 The Steelers backup quarterback this week - before starting the game sunday - talked about God and the holy spirit in his life. I read Steelers message boards joking about his stupidity - very much the same way Joke Oliver would. The conversation devolved into how Christians kill just as often if not more than Muslims. To these morons who slurp up the mangrove sprayed by the likes of Stewart and Oliver... The steelers backup quarterback Landry Jones is just as dangerous a human being than the muslim extremist. I checked back to the thread post the terrorist attack - crickets. I wonder if the attack had smartened them up a bit - I doubt it.

"A rocket launcher, flak jackets, several pistols and a Kalashnikov

The police in Bavaria who pulled over another Jihadi Jim en route to France were originally described in English-language news reports as having found 200 pounds of high explosives in the car. That now seems to have been downgraded to a half pound. This may perhaps be the usual idiotic mathematically illiterate journos failing to cope competently with elementary conversions from metric to English units on their iPhones. Hopefully so. 64 I'd like to see John Oliver confront an actual jihadi. He'd shit himself, then sit there frozen while his head was sawed off with a dull knife.
After shitting himself, he'd plead for his life by telling the jihadi that he loves Obama, that he hates Christians too, that he's one of the "good" non-Islamophobic infidels. And the jihadi would still saw off Oliver's head. That's something the Left refuses to believe - that spitting on their own ancestral religions and on their country and its' traditions doesn't make them "better infidels" in the eyes of ISIS. While jihadis might use progtards as useful idiots, they won't hesitate to kill them. I mean, that was made pretty clear on 9/11 when deep blue NYC was hit and yet fools like Oliver are more afraid of Christian conservatives than they are of jihadis. Posted by: Donna&&&&V. I actually taken issue with you on one point. In France, Belgium, Sweden, and Norway, an increasingly most of Europe, the UK and eventually the United States, this isn't a conventional war of the type you described. It is an asymmetrical CIVIL war, fought out of Islamicized suburbs in Paris' northern and eastern suburbs, as one example. Things are about to get very, very nasty when the French police go into those squalid, Muslim-infested shitholes. We really need to be stepping all over our lawmakers' dicks here because, given what I described above, the causus belli is in place to turn off the people conveyor belt from the Middle East to Europe. Well ace of course it all depends on which individual you're talking about. But no, many many of them *are* intellectual inferiors (vastly so), and this *is* the basis of their "beliefs". Cowardice may be an issue, but intellectual incapacity, ignorance, inability to reason logically and rigorously (or refusal to do so, same result) ARE the issue with all of these people. Those who haven't wasted most of their lives living and working amongst the Beltway non-elite elites don't seem to get it. Many of these people *are* as stupid as their views and opinions make them appear. They actually believe the nonsense many here consider just deceptive blather. Try to remember a single instance where a public figure or someone you know has been called on their mindless embrace of the "idiot soup" that constitutes almost all reporting and commentary these days. Now try to recall them being able to "argue their position", actually conduct a substantive discussion, on some topic of consequence. Or even come up with a single valid point. That's right, you can't. There's a reason. Posted by: rhomboid at November 16, 2015 08:40 PM (QDnY+) 277

Counter-terror, as opposed to counter-terrorism, can also be quite effective. >>But I guarantee you there would be lawsuits claiming discrimination based on refugee status, if the feds wanted to push it
Obama is a bully and he uses the full force of the federal govt to intimidate people/entities into not even fighting (see Dept of Ed's boot on neck treatment of that HS re: boy in girl's locker room). Yes, he can and will likely get Loretta Lynch involved to apply pressure, but in this particular scenario there's a good chance at least one of the refugees *will* do something --- ISIS has been promising just this for months. That will make any thug tactics against governors resisting to protect their people look bad. Really bad. Maybe he can cover it up like he's done w/criminal illegals, but I'm thinking he might not have the MSM on his side if it's a big terror attack. It bears repeating and fits neatly in-line with the post, Evan Sayet's Heritage speeches.
One quote: "What happens is, they are indoctrinated into what I call a "cult of indiscriminateness." The way the elite does this is by teaching our children, starting with the very young, that rational and moral thought is an act of bigotry; that no matter how sincerely you may seek to gather the facts, no matter how earnestly you may look at the evidence, no matter how disciplined you may try to be in your reasoning, your conclusion is going to be so tainted by your personal bigotries, by your upbringing, by your religion, by the color of your skin, by the nation of your great-great-great-great-great grandfather's birth; that no matter what your conclusion, it is useless. It is nothing other than the reflection of your bigotries, and the only way to eliminate bigotry is to eliminate rational thought. ... But indiscriminateness of thought does not lead to indiscriminateness of policy. Indiscriminateness of thought invariably leads the Modern Liberal to side with evil over good, wrong over right, and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. Why? Because in a world where you are indiscriminate, where no behavior is to be deemed better or worse than any other, your expectation is that all behavior should lead to equally good outcomes. When, in the real world, different behaviors lead to different outcomes, you and I know why - because we think." Posted by: weft cut-loop at November 16, 2015 10:02 PM (ysFo+) 508

The Anka family patriarch lynched an unpunished child rapist, then fled to the US. It's the vilest of sins, being judgmental is the worst thing you can be to them, it's bigotry, and automatically sexist, racist, etc. Posted by: Cato the Rebel Without a Party at November 16, 2015 10:12 PM (HalrA) 521
The Governors of the states refusing to accept these 'refugees', upon their arrival, need to just go ahead and give each one of them a one-way, direct flight ticket to DC or NY or LA or Chicago or Seattle or Wherever. Throw in $500 bucks apiece for food, etc. Probably a hell of a lot cheaper and defiantly a hell of a lot safer and politically advantageous than keeping them around.
If those at the destination cities complain, then accuse them of bigotry. Posted by: davidt at November 16, 2015 10:12 PM (SyqyH) 522

Somewhere in America an older worker, a quite person, you know the one I'm talking about, the one that keeps their head down and just does a good job every day and tries not to hurt anyone or rock the boat or change the world. Well, this evening they have had enough, a change of heart, a realization that nobody gives a shit really about the good job they do, or the honesty and loyalty, and so they are slipping out of their shoes and throwing them into the machinery, even as I speak. I can see them from up here on the catwalk where I am supposed to be painting these pipes. I hope that all of your cereal boxes are nice and full out there in your cupboards.

Move the refugees to Alaska. Polar Bears gotta eat. The male refugees survivors can get a good cardio workout, and the bears get a good source of protein. Win, win. Another idea. Have the refugees on a tropical island, one with plenty of sharks. Put the food on the next island over. Let the refugees swim for food. The survivors will be very fit. Sharks for the win. "You can always tell when Reality is becoming too #Problematic for progressives: the number of blog posts on fucking tv shows skyrockets. The more Reality brutalizes them, the more they lock themselves inside the #SafeSpace of the Eternal Church of the Holy Tele-Vision."
I see your point, but I admit I consciously do it. I learned from the master. My mom used to get overwhelmed with current events and hole herself up in her room with old black and white movies, I Love Lucy, The Rockford Files. To this day, if my siblings and I get too involved in a political conversation or discuss "Big Scary Things" (ISIS, etc.) she'll jokingly plug up her ears, chant "Lalalalaaa I can't hear you!" and retreat to her room. It's infuriating. I mean, it's not that she doesn't agree, she simply can't handle it past a certain point. But I do THE SAME THING, to a lesser degree. It isn't easy to be "awake" all the time. It's difficult to see this shit day in and out, and not get completely demoralized, to deal with the sheer enormity of stupid on twitter, the wasteland of higher education, this criminal administration, deceptive mainstream media, etc. I don't see how you (or other writers) perform daily without being utterly depressed. So, from time to time, I check out. I get into stupid shows like The Leftovers, True Detective, Game of Thrones, The Affair, Homeland, TV cooking shows, whatever. And I kind of like that there are people from all walks of life and political views getting into it. For a moment, no one is bitching at each other or calling people racists, and that's refreshing. It's not that I am burying my head in the sand or unprepared to fight literally or figuratively. I am/do. But escapism, at least momentarily, isn't always a bad thing---some might argue it's essential. We've always had entertainment. While too much can make a person soft (as we are culturally), a little break from the madness is important. So, I can't entirely blame idiot liberals for doing this (although I agree with your overall point of their cowardly, dangerous passivity). It's pretty damn human to do so. Sorry for the novel, I'm probably just being defensive because I'm obsessing a little over The Walking Dead right now. Posted by: Bee at November 17, 2015 06:24 AM (w2wkZ) 584

By writing incredibly stupid shit like this you are only encouraging ISIL. They want you to treat the Syrian refugees badly, they want you to send your children over to fight them in-person, on the ground as opposed to jets, drones and helicopters. They want you to categorize them as "Islamic" because it reinforces their propaganda. They want a religious war. So I'm glad President Obama calls them "violent extremists" instead of "Islamic/ Muslim extremists" or even "religious extremists." He refuses to play into ISIL's propaganda and it has the added benefit of pissing off you morons.

This article, by contrast, offers no ideas and no solutions other than to just criticize a comedian for the "ontological cowardice" of his humor. If you're so brave that you get to be the judge of who's an intellectual coward, by all means enlighten us. Tell us, great philosopher, the simple commonsense solution you have, that we just can't comprehend because we are so blinded by our liberal "reality-dodging sophistry", that would tell us how to balance the needs for security and liberty in an inevitably integrating world, that includes some people who would kill to avoid integrating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuZ-VxhZrCA How easy was that... Of course the problem is that by actually seeing and hearing what JO said shows the everything this 'ace' person wrote was simply wrong. Untrue. Pure fiction. And it shows again how FOX lies to it's viewers by claiming a new video.... which actually a video from 5 years ago that had nothing to do with ISIS or Syria. So does this 'ace' person deliberately lie to those people who read his obscure blog, or does he not know the truth himself?
