Good Morning Morons. Today is Monday, September 14, 2015. On this day in 1814 the poem Defence of Fort McHenry was written by Francis Scott Key. The poem was later used as the lyrics of The Star-Spangled Banner. *Except for the Sidney Blumenthal emails, which he produced under subpoena and she didnt. Also except for the fact she tried to wioe her email server after she herself received subpoenas. Also except for the fact the Justice Department is a branch office of the Democrat Party and cannot be trusted to be honest in anything at all. Other than those things, this report is totally believable.

They bought a Keurig for work.. I simply don't "get" it. The pods only make decent coffee if you choose the smallest cup size. Otherwise, it's weak crappy coffee. So, to make a mug of coffee, it takes two pods and two brews on the smallest cup setting.
The best cup of coffee, for me, comes from using one of those single-cup brewers.. I can make enough for my travel mug.. http://tinyurl.com/8xzejwl Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at September 14, 2015 07:30 AM (UpGcq) 100

There is absolutely no correlation (that I could find) between coffee pod and setting. Is the idea that if you use one pod on the small setting that the coffee is stronger? Do you get more coffee out of the pod if you run more water through it? I have taken to using one pod (because they are so stupid expensive) and run it through on the 'large' setting then re-run it on the 'small' setting. Just finished off a mug of coffee out of my Keurig 2.0.
It makes "carafe" size loads, in addition to the pods. Carafe allows me to fill up my go mug (20 ounces), and have one good size cup in the morn. Single serving pods work fine enough, but the largest setting is 8 ounces. If I use stronger coffee, it makes a decent cup, but it fills only half a mug. So... multiple runs. How is the coffee? Depends on the pod used. I would suggest NOT buying anything with a name like Starbucks or Folgers on it. Different brands, different outcomes. Biggest problem for the carafe settings is the lack of variety. Right now there are few of the carafe pods that are good enough to buy regularly, especially the ones that are branded by Keurig (Green Mountain, Tulley's). All in all, much better than drip brewers. When you brew anything larger than the small cup size, you will notice the brew coming out will be almost clear near the end. You have used up all the coffee can give after the small cup size.. it's simply a limitation of the pod size. If you like a bold cup of coffee, you gotta brew 2 small pods for a mug. We covered that last week. Technically they can not get federal welfare. So what they do is file on behalf of their anchor baby and the baby gets it.
__________________ Technically it's true that illegal aliens are not legally entitled to many federal welfare benefits, but what happens in actual practice, especially since Obama took office, is that the illegal alien simply checks "yes" on the question on the welfare application form that asks "Are you a U.S. citizen or legal resident?" In most instances, nobody requires them to actually prove U.S. citizenship, and they know it. So they lie. Also, the Obama administration has admitted that it knowingly -- knowingly -- pays out billions of dollars every year in food stamps to illegal aliens, even though illegal aliens are not legally eligible to receive them. The Obama administration also spends millions of dollars a year advertising, in Mexico and in Spanish-language ads, that illegal aliens can get food stamps in the U.S. In addition to food stamps, the Obama administration has also admitted that it pays billions of dollars a year in "tax credits" to illegal aliens in the U.S. The administration has also admitted that it pays billions of dollars a year in Medicare Part D prescription drug benefits to illegal aliens in the U.S. If you add up all the known welfare payments to illegal aliens, plus all the legal "refugee" welfare benefits, the amount of U.S. taxpayer dollars being transferred to low-income foreigners in the U.S. every year would be absolutely staggering. The debates are coming up on Wednesday and 14 of the 16 people running want to break out of the pack.
This isn't rocket science. Trump shot to the lead by taking immigration on and saying he'll build a wall. All the others need to do is pick a topic and take a bold stance that will change everyone's life for the better. If someone would grab hold of the Fair Tax Plan, they could ride it into the lead. Free electricity using the 500 nuke plant idea would do it. One way or another, if someone wants to get elected as president they have to capture the imagination of the public. Giving stock answers and playing defense trying not to make a mistake during the debates will keep the weak at 1 or 2 percent. Posted by: jwest at September 14, 2015 09:04 AM (Zs4uk) 245

Dad can remember the view of our city from the brand-new high level bridge, on wintry mornings in the 30's. There was a solid pall of paper-and-cardboard smoke from homeowners getting their coal furnaces lit. The big malleable-iron factories were the clean spot.
But if you know how to do it, an anthracite furnace fire is about as clean as gas. So it was with percolators. Yes, you can make good coffee in one. But by my early coffee-drinking days, the requisite skills were lost, by most. And like those furnace-tenders who throw mine-run slack and corncobs in with the Phoebe Snow Egg, people boiled the damnedest stuff and bragged how cheap their coffee was. Now that we know where JoeDiMaggio has really gone, you have to admit, Mister Coffee changed things a lot. Invented in Cleveland. Posted by: Stringer Davis at September 14, 2015 09:10 AM (xq1UY) 249

So, any interesting zombie kills last night? Most people seem to be rooting for the walkers tho I do like Rueben Blades b/c he's not afraid to use his shotgun. Not sure staying hold up in those houses are going to help. They wd be better off getting their butts to Catalina or the Channel Islands. Water may be a bitch but there are plenty of fish. While zombies can walk under water, the currents would sweep them away.

Questions we need to ask Presidential candidates:
Describe your vision of America. What part can you bring about ? The courts have said I can have privacy in all matters where I can expect privacy. When can I expect privacy ? Who are the "middle class" ? Be specific Do you have any "executive experience" ? How big was this organization (people/revenues) ? What kind of grades did you get in school for "working well with others" ? As far as I know there is no official definition and I've been told in some languages it is just not defined, so please .. define "fair" Please define "infrastructure" What was the hardest non-governmental job you have ever had ? Are you a "victim" ? Describe all the parts of the "Obama Doctrine" (is this possible ?) Explain how President Obama's "Iran Deal" doesn't undermine the fundamental soundness of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by having the Security Council allow a signing state to ignore it's provisions and continue to enrich. How important are "renewables", such as ethanol and bio-mass, to "sustainability" in your administration's climate policy ? (This is a trick question because most sustainability efforts involve continued use of carbon-based energy whose production and use have an even larger carbon footprint) Explain the difference between Quds and Scuds. (Trump question) Are there any assurances that appear to have been inferred or implied during the campaign that you feel you won't be able to back up with action once in office ? When should you and your staff be held responsible, and what form would "being held responsible" take ? What is your plan to deal with a Higgs Boson disaster ? Trump now says Carson is no deal-maker. I question his assessment. Carson is just the kind of guy who can do "modern" deals, and he's headed quite a few boards and committees tasked with that. The Donald might want to draw in his horns a notch on this one, because a "co-presidency" of his kind and Ben's kind of deal-making Just.Might.Work.
Same as with Cruz, though: it's hard to see Trump as a "co-"anything. Could he take that tide at flood, it would lead on to fortune. His and ours. Posted by: Stringer Davis at September 14, 2015 09:48 AM (xq1UY) 284
Re: Syrian Refugees
There is no conflict between the Christian desire to see good done by the refugees and the American desire not to get all blowed up by terrorists. None. When a famine struck Jerusalem and environs in the 1st C, Christians elsewhere didn't say "Oh, Christians in Jerusalem, migrate en masse into our cities!" They took up donations and sent them to the church in Jerusalem so that people could be fed. Similarly, there is no reason to take in refugees on some mass scale; rather things should be done in their region to make their lives more liveable and secure. If you want to help the refugees in Syria, the best thing to do put pressure on surrounding governments to take them in (yes, temporarily), and for charitable-minded folks in the US to send donations to help those refugee camps. If you don't trust those governments, then, instead, international charitable organizations (Red Cross/Star/Crescent, Healing Hands International, etc.) can open their own refugee camps and charitable-minded folks in the US can fund *them.* Posted by: AllenG (DedicatedTenther) - Fire-hooks and Rock Salt for sale at September 14, 2015 09:48 AM (kff5f) 285

I hereby second JJ Sefton's blessing, too... Meanwhile, re coffee: If you have a GFS market nearby, try their whole bean Italian roast; it's a great dark roast, and at $11.99 for two pounds (not the new 12oz "price point pound" pioneered by Starbucks and the like) and often on sale for $9.99, it's a steal. Grind it very finely; enough beans to cover the blades is enough for a strong pot. Be sure the paper filter is touching the sides of the basket, and if you haven't lately, wash out the basket and be sure the check ball in the bottom of the basket is not clogged. Failure to monitor the check ball and finely-ground coffee will combine to make a hot mess of epic proportions, and while you may find yourself wide awake as you deal with said mess, it isn't nearly as enjoyable as a really strong cup of coffee...
