I'll echo that in general. I would load the trunk up with firewood, go find a part of the beach outside City Limits, bring your favorite beverage, and enjoy. Posted by: Tim in Illinois. Triage: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is shifting focus, cancelling planned speeches next week in Michigan and California to increase campaigning in Iowa and South Carolina. Dropping to just 3% in recent Iowa polls, Walker canceled an upcoming keynote address at the California Republican Party's fall convention. Walker also scrapped expected remarks at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference. Mildly interesting." On the South Trail. Used to be "The Inferno", 1/2 club and 1/2 titty bar. I never went to the club. Donald Trump has vaulted to the top of the Republican race for president among California voters, a new USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll has found. Trump won the support of 24% of California Republicans surveyed, while Ben Carson was backed by 18%. Jeb Bush was in a tie for a distant third place with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, each getting 6% support. http://tinyurl.com/p7kqjmq Late primary, winner takes all and gets about 20% of the delegates you need to win the nomination. Just saying. Actual downtown Orlando? What, are you staying at the Grand Bohemian or something?
Beth's Burgers is a good burger joint. The Harp and Celt is also very good - cottage pie! Once you get a little out from downtown itself (a couple of miles): The best sandwiches in town are at Beefy King, over on Bumby. Not open on Sundays, though. Tijuana Flats is Tex-Mex, with a top-notch selection of hot sauces. Same general neighborhood as Beefy King. Posted by: cirby at September 13, 2015 07:02 AM (3FrFL) 33

The way the RNC set up the primary and delegate distribution this year favors a brokered convention.
All the primaries between March 1st and March 15th assign delegates proportionally. And that includes Super Tuesday. If Trump can't get enough Winner-Take-All before and/or after that, it will be a free for all in Cleveland! Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at September 13, 2015 07:04 AM (UpGcq) 36

Orlando was a magnificent town to an 18-20 year old me back in the late 80's, but I doubt a grown man would want to do all of that, too many opportunities for arrest. Thank god back in those days when you showed the police your green active duty ID they'd generally ride you to the base gate, drop you off and say "don't do that shit again."
The Orange Blossom Trail was a no go area, so of course we frequented it. I just googled my favorite show show place and of course all the news stories were exactly as you'd expect from a respectable strip joint. The low light was seeing a guy jump in front of a train, that's very messy. Posted by: traye at September 13, 2015 07:18 AM (JJby+) 45

Posted by: Vic-we have no party at September 13, 2015 06:31 AM (t2KH5) ____________________ Yep, you'd think the Europeans would have more sense. Look at Sweden's experience with welcoming in Muslim "refugees." Half of them still have no jobs and are living on welfare, years after arriving. 58% of all of Sweden's welfare payments go to "immigrants." The U.S. numbers are even worse. The U.S. has taken in hundreds of thousands of middle-east immigrants and "refugees" over the past decade. Over 90% of them are still on food stamps; over 75% of them get all their medical care thru taxpayer-funded Medicaid; over 70% get other forms of welfare payments such as AFDC, SSI, etc. Even aside from the fact that this new wave of "refugees" is over 70% male, and therefore represents a significant threat of importing future (or present) Islamo-terrorists, the economics of continuing to import large numbers of chronically-unemployable, chronically-welfare dependent foreigners makes absolutely no sense at all. But don't dare point that out, or you'll be branded a raaaaacist and an Islamophobe and a h8ter! Posted by: TrivialPursuer at September 13, 2015 07:32 AM (a31sM) 60

I have very mixed feelings about Europe as an American and as a Jew. We protected their sorry asses and allowed them to waste whatever money they had thanks to our rebuilding their economies after liberating them from the Nazi's, and they have shit on us politically and culturally ever since. As a Jew and a child of a survivor, the wanted a Jew-free Europe and pretty much got it. Let's see how they like what they have in its place. That is the "replacements" let them stay, let alone live. On the other side of that coin, Europe going Islam is not good for our security. That is if we can get rid of the traitors in our own midst before we go under from within. Posted by: J.J. Why didn't anyone else think of that? If only that cop thought faster on his feet! Problem solved! Arrest the guy! Carson's an idiot savant. It seems like the owner/donor class lets these candidates know they get no money if the candidate pushes real border control, less immigration, and absolutely no citizenship for the current 30 million "invaders". And the anchor baby thing is pushed hard as requiring a change in the amendment, when it seems clear congress could change it.
Carly is closest on that, as even Trump has a great big beautiful door for new immigration and bringing back all the good ones, apparently as citizens to vote Democrat. The owner/donors and the commie left REALLY want to break down traditional constitutional America into upper class and an obedient servant class, with massive welfare dependence. The wealth would redistributed among the servant class, but the owners/commies will rule from the boardroom and nutty academia. Posted by: Illiniwek at September 13, 2015 09:08 AM (6zZ5y) 139

The donor class loves border control, they can't rig a corrupt immigration system that allows cheap labor to flow through without it, take away their control of the border and you take away their cheap labor. Posted by: All Teh Meh at September 13, 2015 09:35 AM (VviqM) 141
