Shocking: Levin Johnston Shopping Tell-All Lie Book About Sarah Palin

Note he previously said, just this past month, he'd lied about her to get attention.

Now he's peddling more lies.

He will of course find an eager publisher.

And of course he should be published. Of course he should be a published author.

After all, he's accomplished so much -- he had unprotected sex with a younger girl, got her knocked up, and then abandoned her. And then, fearing that he soon might have to get a real job, he tricked her into accepting a false marriage proposal so he could sell the story to Us weekly for $100,000 (and also shop a reality show about the sham marriage).

Who wouldn't want to be in the Levi Johnston business?

Imagine if a man-boy had treated Chelsea Clinton in such a vile manner.

Now -- see if you can imagine publishing houses lining up to pay that man-boy a big advance.

Hard to imagine, eh?

So much of the media's behavior is dictated by its partisan sympathies and regard for social standing amongst their own. The Clintons are beloved by most in these institutions, so no editor with any concern for his future career or future standing among his peers would ever take this assignment; no house would sign a check.

But for a woman they hate -- a woman they've dehumanized as The Other -- then a provable scumbag gets signed up to talk his ignorant lies to an also-paid-for ghostwriter.

Remember how quickly the Reverend Wright story faded? ABCNews finally broke the story (after it was available for years, and after Obama had taken care of Hillary Clinton), and was attacked relentlessly by the left. JournoList, for example, schemed about how to punish ABCNews for reporting genuine news. (Belatedly, as hell.)

Those schemes on JournoList were not some aberration -- that was the shared sentiment of the entirety of the corrupt leftist media.

And those at ABC News who'd finally done their jobs felt the heat, felt the not-so-subtle social pressure, got the message from their peers that they were doing a Great Evil by doing their jobs.

And so, when Obama gave his ridiculously self-serving and question-dodging and lie-peddling "Great National Discussion on Race" -- a speech where race was a decidedly secondary topic to the much more important topic of Obama's continuing political viability -- the media fell over itself to declare the controversy "settled" (and settled by a speech worthy of Lincoln, too).

And ABCNews of course dropped the story, as all the media did; a CNN anchor even proudly declared his show a "Wright free zone."

They had never wanted to cover the story, and the moment they saw the opportunity to lie and say all questions had now been forthrightly answered, they declared the controversy settled.

Would the questions raised have been so easily settled by a self-serving speech given by a Republican caught in a similar situation? Of course not. But the herd mentality of the media -- all those dirty looks from peers and frantic calls from friends and colleagues -- worked.

They claim they don't make decisions about the newsworthiness of a story based on politics.

They lie.

50% of your standing in any public business is based on the opinion of your peers and colleagues. The other half is the actual clientele-- but as the media shows on a daily basis, they are less and less concerned about the audience.

Showing off, impressing your colleagues -- that's where the action is.

And whether you are deemed "brave" and "important" by your colleagues, or "pandering" and "frivolous," depends on which stories you cover and, crucially, which stories you don't.

And the media is in lockstep regarding which stories are "important" and which are "distractions."

Jeremiah Wright? Distraction.

But Levi Johnston....? Important.

They lie. That is almost all they do anymore. They lie in their reportage and then they rub salt into those wounds by lying about the reasons for their reporting decisions.

They all lie, and all from the same script of the same lies.

They lie to your goddamn face and then warble about their "integrity" and "professionalism," and how all their "experience" and "schooling" has dictated that only they know which stories are important. (Curiously, a frightening high percentage of "important" stories directly advance the interests of the progressive movement.)

They lie, and they lie, and they lie, and then they demand your respect and appreciation for their lies.

Yes, she's been pretty stupid about the whole thing. BUT . . . she's really young, probably in love (at least at some point), AND she had a kid with this stooge, for God's sake.

Being young and crazy in love is a recipe for stupidity. I'd wager many (if not most) of us have been there.

The fact that her mother is the Great Satan to our leftist media culture just makes it even worse.

22 And it was Sarah Palin, who was perceptive enough to view this recent reconciliation with the skepticism it deserved. And the liberals who are so self-righteously concerned about humanity have no problem whatever with the consequences of this little prick's behavior on his child. Let's face it, he didn't just exploit the baby's mother to get his book deal, he exploited his baby. And low rent crap like Kathy Griffin will get a big kick out of it. It's a shame that that child doesn't have a father who actually gives a rat's ass about his well-being.

We have all the options we want to inform ourselves and the traditional news media people are too dim to realize how irrelevant they've become. Time for them to do another Dan Rather and go blubbering to congress about freedom of the press being threatened. Easier than facing up to the fact that they've f__ked up their own credibility.

If Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson were ordinary trailer trash instead of trailer trash associated with Sarah Palin, this would be the non-story of non-stories.

Who hasn't personally known dimwits like them?

But there's one other point to consider: When the lib media pimps this story, they get lots of action from the Divine Sarah's fanboyz, all rushing to condemn and spin in order to protect their goddess. And those people are a bonus on top of regular people who simply think seeing this kind of shit being spread around is dishonest and smarmy.

It's all about reader/viewer action. Plenty of hits. Why else would Tepid Air have a "minimum-of-one-Palin-story-a-day" policy?

45 -->And so, when Obama gave his ridiculously self-serving and
question-dodging and lie-peddling "Great National Discussion on Race" --
a speech where race was a decidedly secondary topic to the much more
important topic of Obama's continuing political viability -- the media
fell over itself to declare the controversy "settled" (and settled by a
speech worthy of Lincoln, too).

Yeah ... that speech was a real classic for the Indonesian Imbecile.

"But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren't simply
controversial. They weren't simply a religious leader's effort to speak
out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly
distorted view of this country - a view that sees white racism as
endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we
know is right with America;"

... to then be followed by the retard, Joseph Lowery, babbling at the inauguration - the friggin' inauguration!! - the prayer:

"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in
the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day [...] when white will embrace what
is right."

And the MFM and the GOP let the Indonesian Imbecile and his gang of race-grievance mongers and general idiots scoot through without bothering to mention this insanity that was now occuring at an official inauguration. They couldn't even find this worthy of a mention when America-hating, race-professional Rev. Lowery was awarded the Precedential Medal of Freedom - LOL.

And I'll just include the end of that paragraph from the race-grievance speech for completeness:

"a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle
East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel,
instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of
radical Islam."

I think one can do nothing, at this point, but giggle at this incredible fraud. America can never, ever, ever say that they didn't know. They knew. Everyone knew.

You're absitively right, of course; but we need not despair quite so much any more. (You're not despairing, but some still cowed by the MFM do - anyhoo, just go with me here.)

The MFM has gone soooo overboard, so ridiculously partisan and hackish - if not ignorant to boot - that the public they ignore is ignoring them right back. Not quite wholesale, but enough to make them hurt. Their integrity is in the toilet floating right beside their balance sheets.

As an institution, it has failed and everyone knows it. JournoList was just the most pronounced proof of the collusion, a continuation that really accelerated and grabbed headlines when Rathergate hit and Iraq war Fauxtography arose. The Right has been validated.

We now relegate the MFM to clown comedy, their pants pulled down so low that they can only mocked for showing so much ass. They've been exposed, their gross malfeasance initiating historic rejection. The public blowback, almost as a direct result of their antagonism to Palin and knob-polishing of Obama, is icing on the cake.

The Clintons are hillbilly criminal trash, though I respect their legitimate accomplishments. I hate how they treated the presidency like a Powerball drawing and the White House like a Motel 6. But they raised their daughter Chelsea to be less gullible and rebellious than Bristol, who got knocked up on the sticky carpet of an actual meth lab. She brought Levi back into the news, and I am sick of the whole soap opera. The comments from an anonymous Palin friend bother me, as well. Yeah, we probably would. But here's the thing--we're talking about the media. I would expect liberal politics to make a big deal out of this, but when you assume the counterpoint to conservative politicians/activists is not just liberal politicians/activists, but the media itself, that proves our whole point.

For that matter, this doesn't have to remain in the realm of the hypothetical. Al Gore's kid was got caught doing drugs; Joe Biden's daughter was caught on camera talking about doing cok; and it didn't make half the splash in the media (again not just liberal politicians) that Jenna Bush made when she was caught trying to buy alcohol underage.

If you want to say this is a hypocrisy thing, that's also just plain bullshit because Gore and his wife (back in the 80s and 90s) were as big a couple of moralists as anybody in Washington.

It proves Ace's whole point.

Normal life is not buying a condo twice as big as you need or can afford. She has expensive tastes and indulges in fantasies. She's young, so that's not such a big deal. But looking toward Levi to bail her out and grow up and play house and the world will love them is dangerously immature. It doesn't fit your scenario of just wanting a nice normal life. There are tons of nice normal guys who would take up with her in a heartbeat and treat her and her son well. She seemed ready to clean up her act and pursue that when she was a spokesperson with a job in a medical office. I can tell you there is no reason she should have any affection for Levi after how cruelly he has used her. It doesn't say much for her judgment.

RollInternational-producescrap like Fiji Water, Pom Wonderfulpomegranate juiceand vast quantities of pistachios, cashews almonds. Before that the Resnicks got rich peddling Franklin Mint junk.
Lynda Resnick helped Daniel Ellsburg photocopy the Pentagon Papers and is a massive donor to dem hacks. Like over 1.5 million during the past 10 years.
The Resnicks also control vast amounts of California water and have been involved in many lawsuits. They seem to have a vicious and ruthless legal team to serve as enforcers.
If you drink Fiji water or Pom Juice or buy their nuts you are directly enriching some real hardcore lefties who seem to be using capitalist means to bring about socialist ends.
May 23 Contra Costa Times:
"In the past decade, the Resnicks and their Kern County farming operations gave more than $1.6 million to political campaigns in California, including a whopping $373,000 to former Gov. Gray Davis.
Shortly after he was elected in 1998, Davis appointed Stewart Resnick as co-chairman of his water and agriculture advisory committee with former Rep. Gary Condit, D-Modesto, and Keith Brackpool, a businessman with plans to develop water storage underground in the Mojave Desert."

95 "50% of your standing in any public business is based on the opinion of
your peers and colleagues. The other half is the actual clientele-- but
as the media shows on a daily basis, they are less and less concerned
about the audience."

Actually I think they are quite concerned about the audience. Its just that they don't see the audience as the clientele in a legitimate sense, but in the same sense that Goebbels saw the German people. The media has been corrupted to the point that their very purpose, the way that the define themselves and success in their own field, is by their ability to manipulate the public into accepting lies.

This is why they fear Fox news so much. This is why they fear talk radio. This is why they fear an internet that is not dominated by their own lies. If it were a matter of just caring about what other corrupted journalists thought, then they would simply ignore these.

They are an example of institutional capture. Marxists have succeeded in capturing that institution. But what the strategists who advocated institutional capture never realized is that the power and prestige of an institution is directly tied to its legitimacy. A captured institution has a small window in which to operate before it brand equity is gone.

118 Well, "she is really stupid" is what I'm hearing out there. And apparently "a terrible actress". wonder if Dr. Jill Biden did any better with her television appearance. Anyways, the way he did it is despicable. He capitalized on an obviously strained relationship between Sarah and Bristol and used it to the max to his advantage. He got her to go behind her parents back, essentially lying to them but "not really" since they probably had no idea he was back in the picture for any other reason but custody schedules. He then got Sarah Palin to come out and say that she wasn't going to the wedding and Todd to say that he was. That in and of itself is probably normal as daddy's little girl is daddy's little girl but he MSM and his new book will really spin that one. And, Probably he would have strung her along were it not for the surfacing information about another honey and he child. so now we all know that there is trouble in paradise but trouble in the family and that bristol is living on her own with the baby. If you are honest, this is probably a scenario played out in a lot of American households, hey, this is real life. Problem is, that the MSM and probably the book will play this as abnormal and paint Sarah as the wicked regular mother and Todd as the nice guy. And, what other "stuff" does this guy have that he was saving for his last shot, the tell all book, probably timed just right to knock Sarah Palin and any presidential aspirations right out of the water.
This kid could not possibly have this kind of timing without lots of help from the liberal media and spin masters. Cause you know how those republicans are, they tear apart their own and shred them into oblivion after anything comes out from the liberal media. god forbid the republicans should let anything pass or accept something as "hey that's family life".
The kid is so being played by the liberal media and seems to be their willing tool as long as the money keeps flowing in.
If this can be confirmed maybe Sarah should get herself a good publicist and beat ol levi to the punch. Essentially, neuter the effect of his "juicy tell all tome"....loaded with "facts" about Sarah, heretofore, untold.
Bristol should have her lawyers in their for her son's piece of the profits from that book.
Bristol needs to grow up.....how many times can you get played by the same guy and still go back for more?

121 There sure have been a lot of insulting posts regarding Marie Antoinette and Michelle Obama. Morons, that statement refuted to Marie A. about eating cake is a myth so there is not need to insult her by comparing her to the Worf.

What she actually said was in reply to the reports that the markets were all out of the "cheap bread" that the poor normally ate. Her statement was to have the markets sell them the more expensive bread which was referred to in French as a type of "cake" at the same price as the cheap bread and the crown would offset the cost. IOW she wanted to subsidize the bread.

Here we have Worf flying off to Spain literally spending a half a million dollars of tax payer money on "vacation" and that probably doesn't include the damn cost for airplane travel. (probably another 1/2 million).

She is not a damn official of the U.S. government and should be getting a damn dime of tax payer money. For that matter, NOBODY else in America gets their damn vacations paid for by the tax payer so Obama should be getting all these damn vacations and golf trips on the tax payer dime either.

Probably several stories. The conventional route, the one extolled by the MSM, is to end the pregnancy with an abortion.

For the MSM and the Ruling Elite the more abortions, the better: Fewer "Others", less Religion, less accountability, industrial-scale slaughter of human beings, which inures society to "mercy killings" and "death panels".

If Kudlow is only now getting religion when only two weeks ago he still had such confidence about Obama's Marxism and regulatory Czars, then I've given him way more credit than he deserves. He's a macroeconomic, Wall Street shill. His interviews are so narrow, so directed to make his point to the exclusion of others that he seems insulated from processing new data that a guest might offer. His panels are a darting chaos where he goes fishing randomly for the answer he seeks. I quit watching his act about four years ago. Maybe he's improved but I seriously doubt it.

I saw one comment, which you then used to smear all Palin supporters as people who need to lighten up, and then almost immediately played the "I'm being persecuted for criticizing Palin" card. Tedious.
"It's a nature show with the biggest famewhore of them all on it...Kate
whateverhernameis. It ain't Jersey Shore but it's pretty damn close once
you get her on board."

There's a difference between Kate Gosselin's real, apparently awful, persona and her TV persona, which was usually a lot more palatable. "Jon and Kate + 8" wasn't Jersey Shore. It was a cute show about a large family. I'll bet the Kate-throws-a-diva-fit-and-walks-out stuff never even makes it on the air, because they're not making that kind of show here.

Since it's an NBC production, what you describe doesn't surprise me. Now I know CNBC is the least biased of the NBC studios, but that's still a questionable metric given what we know about the network's politics.

Still, if it's true that hosts are that controlled, then what's the point of watching? You're not getting true analysis. It'd be better to put it on mute and just watch the ticker crawl. Or move to FBN and Bloomberg.

When this stuff first came out I posted all the links here. I think dealbreaker brought it out first but things move so fast it's hard to remember. I always had them on mute just to watch the ticker and the crawl. I recently moved to FBN, they at least are interesting and are telling the truth across the board, not when it is expedient to do so.

I am a hard call Gasparino fan. I was a dylan ratigan fan until he made the wrong choice and moved to MSNBC to being making a fool of himself. He has a lot of info he is dying to get out but again, stayed with the NBC crowd so he wont' get it out. But, the dummy left bloomberg to go to CNBC and then to MSNBC so he probably can't fathom how he so screwed himself. If cavuto even gave him a look he would be wise to go back to his bloomberg persona and the real person he is and do anything, shine cavutos shoes for a chance on a real financial network. Cause once they are done with him and that time is fast approaching it could be a total career breaker.

There's a difference between Kate Gosselin's real, apparently awful, persona and her TV persona, which was usually a lot more palatable
Sure, go with that.
This is exactly why I said that the Palin supporters (and okay so there's no temper tantrum here, the diehard supporters, not "all") need to pick their battles better.
On the right, Obama was ridiculed, rightly so, for going on late-night shows, American Idol, GQ, etc. Yet Sarah Palin seems to get a pass from the very same people that were critical of Obama. And I'm not sure why. It seems like a double standard. Just like it's a double standard that Bristol Palin can be mocked relentlessly whilel Ashly Biden does a line of coke and everyone turns a blind eye, so is this.

I suspect that he's smart enough to know that if show's up in just about any bar he'll be asked to leave before a brawl breaks out (regardless of whether he has a bodyguard they'd get pummelled as well), he won't be able to get any kind of job, he has few friends left (only his new lefty friends are there and only while they squeeze the last of his propagada use) and his future is as bleak as a Charles Dickens novel. Really, this guys life is effectively over before it's begun because of his weak character, greed, bad upbringing and manipulation by the left who don't care who they destroy in order to further their cause. Sarah Palin is now in a position where whatever this guys says will not effect her as he has been proven to be a scoundrel and a liar.

I think that if Bristol finally smartens up she will decline any support payments from this fool and at the same time ensure a judge blocks any visitation to the child. In this case growing up without a dad is probably the best (I suspect that she meet someone else soon enough).

240 The one things that bothers me most about this post -- like the zillion-comment Palin threads at Tepid Air -- is that there is apparently no one in the Palin camp willing to advise her when she she does things that could screw up any future career in electoral politics, or help her understand (which she doesn't seem able to do on her own) that her "brand" is damaged by many of the choices she has made and is making.

Kate Gosselin on the Palin "Alaska" show? What dimwit came up with that one? Agreeing to shill for the RNC? Does that mean she's buying into the establishment fatcat royalty that make up the Republican crowd in D.C.?

This is like her resignation from the Alaska governorship. Yes, she may have had good reasons, but what her opponents will say is "she's a quitter." Count on it.

Palin's most ardent supporters are her worst enemies. They'll rationalize anything, and end up making themselves and Palin look like fools. "So what if she did x? Obama did y..." is an excuse, not an explanation. We're supposed to be looking for someone who can undo what the Traitor-in-Chief has done, someone who is better. Instead, she is being praised for being different.

I've seen the same thing when I suggest that Palin needs to run for an office, win it, and take an active part in the legislative process. People respond by saying "well, Obama came out of nowhere, and she's been a mayor and governor (for a partial term)..." and that doesn't suggest she is better. It suggests she, too, has nimbly avoided being in the trenches.

From what I've read, I'm sure Palin has the right ideas. But it can be logically argued that she is a blogger/speechmaker, not an executive.

I'm not talking about what her daughter does. That is irrelevant to Palin's political career.

But before I willingly support her in '12 (or whenever) I want to see what she thinks translated into what she does. Or, at a minimum, what she makes an effort to do.

I will vote for Homer J. Simpson if he runs against Osama Obama. But what I want most is to vote FOR and not AGAINST. Palin could merit that, if she transitions from good words into good deeds.

Sarah's doing plenty of "dem damage" by just doing what she is doing now.

More to the point, she needs to help her daughter realize that this guy is totally using her and their baby for his own gain. Family law is more seat of the pants than any other law, hope the judge sees this new baby mama thing for what it is and let's bristol have sole custody and responsibility for the baby. Jeez, Vic. That's not what I wrote, and it'd take quite a stretch to read that in my post.

The idea of putting some "in-her-15-minutes" dingaling in a show with a (perhaps) future president blows Nixon's Laugh-In performance right out of the water for absurdity. It rivals Osama Obama on the View. It's pandering, and I would think Palin had the right to accept/reject "guests" in her contract.

The "quitter" reference spoke to Palin's truncated term in the AK governorship. It will be prominent if she puts herself up for election to anything else. 261 I don't think Chelsea wants to be president. Maybe she had marriage counseling cause she had a pushy set of parents and an out of control over the top wedding that she was losing control of and embarrassed by. If she runs it will be because she was pushed and pushed.

Liz Cheney wants to be president. However I won't vote for a Cheney any more than I would vote for a Clinton or a Bush or a Reagan or a Carter....I don't want the proginy to be president. Smacks too much of a political aristocracy similar to the crown. No thanks...I want new faces, new people, with new hearts.

I like Liz but she is too much of a hawk on afghanistan. We aren't there to win if we were we would have 500,000 troops there rolling over the country and killing the bad guys. Petreaus even tightened the rules of engagement more than McChrystal did. Before long they will be taking away the rifles and issuing night sticks.
It's time to hang it up like we should have done in 2005. If we need to go back and destroy the training camps we will. This endless war isn't getting us anywhere.

So let me retract the above damn straight to ward off a future attack from the left and say. Ace you are fricking RIGHT ON!
To start my morning off, I wentfrom channel 70 to ESPN at 15 and had to pass MSNBC at 43 and see the utter bull shit Chris Matthews "special" concerning the "hate" on the right surrounding Obamacare.
There was the obligatory day after monologue snippet of Rush saying, "we have to defeat these bastards" and then of course the, "and Sarah Palin's Facebook page even showed a map using "Cross hairs" symbols on States whose reps. voted for Obamacare." All hyped up by Matthews with some eerie back ground music.
No mention in the Matthews special was the fact Obamacare was foisted on the people, was totally non-transparent,fiscally dishonestand against the will of the peopleand rammed through congressbycontraveninglong standing senate rules- kinda important FACTS that supporta narrative of tyranny.

Ask anyone in West Hollywood -- or almost anywhere else in the country, come to think of it -- what "camping" means to them, and I'm betting images of RuPaul, Perez Hilton and the cast of La Cage Aux Folles will pop up as readily as tents and Coleman stoves.

Or outdoor terlets.

Gosselin is human garbage and a worthless attention whore, and her inclusion in this reinforces the media lies that Sarah's show is a reality show and not a documentary. Also, it would be a lot better if it (SP's Alaska) aired on Discovery, which actually has interesting stuff, and not TLC, which is mostly banal, vacuous crap like the exploits of Gosselin and her spawn and the nonstop house-flipping idiocy that contributed to the economic collapse.

He has been through immigration, too, and knows sometimes you're lucky to even get a number. Meanwhile, government employees are getting raises while more and more services are cut. Long story short, I told him how Nixon used to slip away from secret service and take Jackie Gleason to visit aliens. He laughed and I told him I believe in lizard people, too. Divorced, former B-movie actor, gay lefty loon for a son, and a porn actress skank for a daughter. That's baggage. I'm more worried about some of the stuff happening now, like the Gosselin thing. She's creating unnecessary future baggage for herself with stupid stunts like this, and I don't understand why. 311 Here is all I can find on the new rules for now; not much:

On August 6, the Republican National Committee
changed the partys bylaws on presidential primaries. The author of the
plan had worked with Democratic Party officials, so that the two major
parties now agree on the timing of presidential primaries and
caucuses. This makes it very likely that state legislatures next year
will pass bills, making the changes desired by both major parties.
Both parties agree that four particular states, Iowa, New Hampshire,
Nevada, and South Carolina, are the only ones that can hold caucuses or
primaries earlier than March 1. State parties that break the rules will
lose half their convention delegates and also lose other privileges.
It is now likely that the legislatures of Florida and Michigan will
repeal state election laws setting the presidential primaries in
January.
The Republican National Committee also voted to hold the 2012
convention in Tampa. This is the first time any presidential national
convention has been held in Florida, other than in Miami, where the
Republicans met in 1968 and 1972.
Republicans also passed a rule that only affects the Republican
Party. States that hold caucuses or presidential primaries in March
must assign use proportional representation to allocate delegates.
Thus, if a presidential candidate polls 22% of the vote cast in a March
presidential primary, he or she will be awarded 22% of the states
delegates.
The RNC Home site doesn't even have anything.

Hmm, other than the fact this makse no sense, let's break it down.....
Her *mistakes*, as I see them have nothing to do with having her child-even as a teenage mother. Children are a blessing; they're not mistakes.
Her mistakes (plural) seem to be that she wants her face in the press. Be it People, US Weekly, reality shows--the girl is an attention-groupie. She's not doing herself any favors. And she's certainly not acting like a mother to that child.
And Liz Cheney didn't have a 'bulldyke' daughter you nincompoop.

That could be the point of this camping trip with Kate Gosselin. Palin perhaps wants to be seen as a team player and expand her base. Maybe she'll take over for Steele after the midterms.

So, if she can earn the money, why not?
I'm sure she is a good mom, I don't think any of us can or have the right to judge whether or not she is or isn't a good mom, the courts will decide that. Just hope she has good lawyers.

320 Well I like the convention site. But I already knew that.I guess proportional is pretty big. Can't deliver a knock out blow early. Takes more long term planning and stategery.
Starting later doesn't really reduce the influence two small states have on the process though.

So this is why the republicans are having such a tough time getting people to even consider running against the machine.

383 Palin isn't running for president, and if she does she won't win. She's better off being the king maker. In that light, she's being very smart. She does need to get out in front of this, but perhaps not by much -- Levi is a piece of shit; most people could care less about him.
As for Bristol -- she is a perfect example of why (to quote my dad) "men should be allowed to slap their daughters". She's either an ignorant twit or a stupid twat. Sarah Palin was right in the decision to not honor the wedding...I'm beginning to think Todd Palin is either a bit of an idiot or a puss.
I mean really...what father would grace that wedding? Wouldn't it be better to say: "don't be a stupid, silly bitch...marry him and I disown you"? I mean, damn look at who it was? I don't care if he's the sperm donor...she's young and can marry someone else (or attend to raising her child -- which she's done a crappy job of protecting, like she's done a crappy job of respecting her parents).
And she is not a kid!
Neither is freaking Levi -- whoever stated above that we need to crack down on our daughters but we also need to crack down on our sons was right. There will always be a bit of a double standard, but it used to be if you got the girl you were doing preggers (especially if you made her a woman on top of it) you married and provided for the kid -- your feelings, age, and "journey of self discovery" be fucking damned. Now everyone is like "ooooh, they're just kids; girls that age are naive; boys will be boys" -- horseshit! Enablers!

Not necessarily. Keep in mind that Landdeal has Las Vegas, home of dispossessed CA liberals and the unions so she was never going to have an easy shot.

She made some gaffs going in but now she has a new team and she is hitting back squarely in the chops. In the past few weeks she has closed the gap and I expect her to go ahead.

But I would have never expected her or ANY republican to run away with NV in today's environment, even with Reid's bad numbers.

447 Just finished eating supper and watching Fox news. Two things that struck me:

They are reporting that that bill the Senate just voted on with the 26.1B for union funding is now getting proposals from Dems in the House to add border security to it. Border security from Dems means amnesty.

The other thing was about Clinton going down to campaign for Meeks in FL. This was one of those fair balanced debates between a Republican and a Commie, both now out of office. The commie kept praising Clinton with all his successes in welfare reform and balancing the budget. Ya'll know, the standard Dem/MFM myth that has been promulgated.

I waited for the Republican to come back and unload but he politely mentioned the balanced budget was the work of the Gingrich House, didn't mention the phony Clinton gov shutdown or the Clinton vetoes of welfare reform.

Damn Republicans are just too damn polite.

Also, now that we KNOW and HAVE PROOF that they collude and lie as a matter of POLICY, what do we do about it?

They are losing money/subscribers/advertisers because it's a poor business model to insult your customers and deliver a fake product but it's going too slowly for me.

Like a mortally wounded water buffalo, they are bleeding but are still dangerous. They still have the power to influence too many. They have put the country at risk by their manipulations and should be called to account for it.

Problem is it must be done within the proscriptions of the First Amendment. This means no 'Authority' can intervene without dire consequences for future true journalists.

Breitbart has the right idea but more needs to be done.

I'm not trying to make it sound like said parents should get a free pass, but speaking from experience, those parents are spending the bulk of their time getting information and trying to do what they can for a helpless baby - they like to think that they have done a "good enough" job with their teenagers that something like an unplanned pregnancy isn't something that they have to worry about.

I don't recall a specific part to shut down all private hospitals. But what I do remember was that they were going to make the private companies so expensive to operate that they would all eventually go under and it would be a complete government run industry within a a decade.

477 thanks curious ... there do seem to be a lot of similarities.

The rabid relatives I have really get off on trashing Palin ... as instructed of course. This is cult like behavior ... and they are vicious.

A full comparison of the radical left and radical Islam would be interesting ... both want control to some old "religion" through devious means.

The left's ideals are pretty old ... man controlling his fellow man by force and subterfuge. Nothing new here ... control the message, sabotage the "unbelievers".

I have no great love for the Palins. I view her as a momentary blip on the political radar, and also an indicator as to how debased our political culture has become. In a time of serious minded people, would *anyone* be discussing Palin? This is not to say that I believe she is some dumb hick - I do not. That is a fantasy the left whispers in its own ear because they feel threatened by what she represents. It *is* only to say that if this is the best we have today, I fear for the Republic.

That said, I find myself bothered by the media, in general. Its complete lack of moral restraint is irksome, as is the fact that they long ago left behind the notion of fair play. What a concept: treat people, especially your readers, who pay your bills, fairly. How do you do this?

First, act like fucking responsible adults. You know, the kind that understand the true role of the press, which is to a check on the power of the three branches of government. This would be refreshing, because, you wouldn't know that our press was *not* state controlled by looking at it today. It's really rather disheartening - we, the people, are left to defend ourselves from government overreach because the watchdog, the modern press, has abdicated that responsibility.

Doesn't that make anyone else mad as hell? We talk much about returning the levers of power to the hands of the *ruled* class (us), which is all well and good. But, the fourth estate is also an institution that should be governed by the people. Somehow, we've been conditioned to simply accept what we are given, even if we do complain about it incessantly on our little blogs and in the comfort of our living rooms. Why do we accept this?

Certainly, the media complex is, for the most part, corporate in nature. As such, they have a right to do as they wish. However, they also serve a vital public role, or, used to serve a vital public role. And yet, they do not. In fact, from empirical observation, I would say that their new role is to simply spout government propaganda.

As such, why do we put up with this, when we have it in our power to effect change. And I do not mean simply voting with our pocketbooks, because that does not appear likely to work in the long run. How will it, when the very government the "watchdogs" are charged with overseeing are glad handing for public money bailouts, thus short circuiting the protections inherent in the free market system?

No, I say no. No more of this. We protest on the mall, and we protest on Capitol Hill. And we protest in capitol cities across the nation. But we do not protest where such protests might do the most good: say, at the offices of the NYT. If the major newspapers refuse to give the largest grass roots conservative movement to ever spring up in America, then we bring the movement to them. We bring it right to their front door.

If the press is now an arm of government, why are we not bringing pressure to bear on the press, just as we would the government? They are one and the same, indistinguishable. From Krugman at the Times to any number of "journalists" at the Post - they should all get to see the importance and earnestness of the the Grand New Party up close and personal. And they shouldn't have to leave the comfort of their air conditioned newsrooms to do it.

There is a fight for the soul of the American body politic underway, and those who would attempt to influence the outcome of that fight, rather than report on it in a fair minded, sober manner, should feel the heat. And, just in case, wear a helmet in case Spenser Ackerman shows up to slam your head through a plate glass window.

Oofta, too many grammatical mistakes in the post above to correct. I hope that I may be forgiven, as anger and bone weary exhaustion have taken their toll.

498 meh. coming from a family with much more "interesting" screwups, I don't much care one way or another. I've dealt with pathological/serial liars, and they start to become boring after a certain point.

As for Bristol? Maybe she's learned something. She's still young and stupid. Plenty of grown women believed less-believable liars. "Oh honey, of course I love you... oh that chick? She means nothing to me...."

Let Levi try to peddle his book. I don't see people reading it much.

And for all the people who say "Oh, well those Palins are nothing but trailer trash below what belongs in DC"... 1. slap yourself 2. look what's been going on in DC for decades 3. slap yourself again. 4. Get a grip on reality.

502 It's exactly what feminism is. Women who are part of "us" are protected by feminism, while the women part of the "other" is openly degraded without the slightest sense of irony or intellectual dissonance.

Then again, feminists are the one kind of women who probably have manifestly inferior brains.

503 Someday, probably many years in the future, if he's lucky, and after Palin has served two full terms as POTUS and restored the country to its original promise, we will read something like the following in the only surviving newspaper in the country:

==
A rescue team was able to reach the general area where Levi Johnston was reported still alive after a plane crash but they were too late.

"Sadly, the wolves and bears got to him before we did. It's a real tragedy," said a spokesman for the team who asked not to be identified.

Johnston was reportedly alive shortly after the plane in which he was a passenger went down in this remote area of Alaska.

Levi Johnston was the former boyfriend of Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol and father of her first child. He achieved some measure of fame after the two broke up and Mr. Johnston went to the press with lurid family tales.

Survivors of Mr. Johnston refused permission to identify them, some threatening to sue if we did so.

Still, controversy simply won't let Mr. Johnston go even in death. "The oddest thing," said the team spokesman. "We did not find any other bodies from the crash. Perhaps the wolves got to them first ... but we may never know."

The Palins were in Anchorage to dedicate the Sarah Palin Presidential Library and were unavailable for comment.

And you think people who shoot, butcher and eat moose are going to forget and just let it slide? What part of gun-toting and clingy don't you get?
