One time I remember we were rebuilding something, I think it was some gearbox, and I spent a lot of time with my hands in gasoline. A lot of time.
That shit will pull all the oils out of your skin quickly. And boy will it hurt when your skin is de-oiled down to the bone. I mean burning and just terrible. My mother said, here idiot, use some of my Neutrogena hand cream/lotion.
That stuff did the trick.

Wasn't till after I'd got out of heavy construction that they published the info that the shit would fvck yer liver.
So, no more Tolulene or Xylne for me. I'm just sticking to bourbon, instead.

It is not a bi-metal switch. At least not the ones that I have looked at. Nor is the one in his diagram.
What I have seen is a stressed diaphragm which is held deformed by a metal strip, when cold. When the strip is heated by current passing through it, the strip expands, allowing the diaphragm to *snap* to it's formed shape, and open a contact.
All of this is to say that it is not reliant upon a bi-metal construction, per se, merely on the spring constant of the diaphragm material, and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the tension band.
Of course, he is on the interwebz, and I am not, so... what he says must be true.

I think you are assuming that BLM is a spontaneous political movement. I believe that it is a get out the vote operation by the Democratic Party who's purpose is to boost black voter turn out in November by inciting racial hate and fear. The riots and killings are an unfortunate side effect of the heightened emotions that are being ginned up to get black voters to the polls but the Democrats are willing to accept this destruction and death because they are so absolutely convinced of the rightness of their cause.

Honey!
Had the same thing on my thumb, and it wouldn't heal for weeks. Found a recommendation online - put honey and bandaid on it at bedtime, re-do it in the morning. Two days later it was healed. Bonus - the sticky honey keeps the bandaid in place.
I've used it several times since then and recommended it to friends. Sounds strange but it really works.

I rented a house there every Summer for about 5 years. Always on the East end of the island, on the beach. Massive housing complex there. West end has whatever commerce in tourism the island does. Usually went back to the mainland to do things like deep sea fishing.

Made me laugh. Tonight the fellow and I went out and decided we would cook burgers at home. My job was to run into the store and get burger and buns. I remembered the buns and for the life of me couldn't remember my other item so I bought tampax and laundry soap because I knew I would use those and didn't want to use my debit card for 78 cents. eman was consistently snarky, and even nasty. Moo moo was half troll/half legit commenter but 95% a shit-stirrer. Both IMO on the whole made this blog a worse place. Sometimes when people have been around for a long time we just get used to them and their behavior when maybe we shouldn't.
Just because a regular commenter doesn't do anything actionable in particular does not mean that they don't have a cumulative corrosive effect on the comments in general. And the damage is often invisible - new readers take a glance at the comments and decide to go somewhere else more pleasant, long-timers either start self-censoring or just quietly move on and stop commenting.
I've been involved with online communities for over 30 years and I've seen pretty much every possible discussion forum scenario play out at some point. A healthy thriving comment section is actually more fragile than you think. It only takes a handful of jerks to completely disrupt the spirit and mood of the comments. If you get a critical mass of them, then it starts to make jerk behavior the new social norm which turns the comments into a toxic place that eventually drives away all the contributing good commenters as well as any possible new ones. If unchecked, this eventually spirals down to a new uglier, nastier equilibrium or simply a dead forum.
So ask yourselves why so many former regular morons and almost none of the Cobs post in the comments anymore. And for every one that you know of there's probably five or more that you don't."

I don't get the appeal either. Lots of traffic, big crowds, light pollution like crazy. I live in a city of about 200k. That's big enough to have everything you want, and not so big that it's a concrete hell.
I always figured that as the economy continued to tank, we might start to see a reverse of the urbanization trend of the last century since the derelict factories don't have good-paying jobs to offer, but no real change yet.

I don't have any experience with them. The single stack .45 seems to fit my hand and my wife's in a way that double stacks don't. That being said, my daily carry is a double stack 9mm but not a 1911.

The RIAs are good, basic, no frills 1911s. Manufactured by people who truly LOVE the 1911. It's one of the cornerstones of Philippine culture. As one Pinoy dude put it on one of the 1911 forums, for thousands of Japanese soldiers during WWII, the last thing they saw in this world as they lay wounded on the ground was a 98 pound, 5'1" Filipino guerrilla pointing a 45 at their face.
Having said that, you DO need to pay attention to the details on them. They're sometimes kind of rough, including areas that cause some reliability problems, but that's mostly in the earlier RIAs.

Yes, it was horrible when it was released due to so much of it being client side verification (which allows hackers easy pickings) plus they had their cheat detection turned off for like 2 months. Result was PC was a den of ugly until they started to ban. (Note, consoles also had client side but PC was easier to hack for free - there were a handful of Xbone hacks too but not on the same scale).

I might stop by over there, but my first stop is the tire store cause I need new ones. Taking vacation up north in a week and don't want to drive on nearly bald tires. (Going through Cumberland gap stop in Middlesboro to try and find records of family (great granddad's wife was from there), up past Indy to James Dean museum (for the wife) over to Air Force Museum (for me) stop by Waynesville OH cause I grew up in Waynesville NC and it's I think the only other town with that name, then down to Kings Island (for the youngun) then back home.

Tip for AZ CCW:
At night turn on the interior dome light. Place both hands on top of the steering wheel and interlace them. Be polite and friendly and tell the officer you are carrying concealed and ask what they want you to do. Comply with what they say.
I have gotten out of tickets over half the time by doing this.
The only ones who seem not care is DPS as 90% of the time they gave me tickets.

I grew up in the city.. no one had guns.. (except shotguns for hunting in the country) they were so foreign to us.. I did not shoot a hand gun until i was 64 yrs old last year.. a father's day present from my kids.. an afternoon at the range with some instruction, etc.. it was fun... But I was still.. not comfortable..
I will never own a gun unless things go south.. I am not comfortable having one in the house.. it is really all about how you have grown up and your familiarization with guns, I believe.
So.. I would defend the right to own and keep guns.. I just choose not to have them myself.

In Texas the police now have all that information available when they run your plates. They get the registration information and status of the vehicle and your insurance information. Also, if the vehicle is registered to you, they get the information that you have a concealed handgun license before they get out of their car to walk up to you.
I always make it a point to keep both my hands on the steering wheel when stopped by the police.

He went full Rain Man on open borders, and there was no way to argue against it because he would never ever concede on any point and would keep arguing on into eternity.
I've seen others like that on other blogs and quickly learned to ignore them, because arguing with them was a complete waste of time. Because they would never. ever. stop.

The more I read about them and what a bonanza this charge has become for too many cities, the more depressing it gets.
And, let's assume you're stone cold sober and get pulled over for suspicion of DUI. *Everything* I've read says, *don't* take the breathalyzer test (those machines are notorious for being ridiculously inaccurate and uncalibrated); demand a *blood test.* The problem of course, is that by doing so you're going to piss off the officer to no end, so he's going to arrest you on the spot and drag you to jail for a while. (On top of which, blood tests can't be done properly in the field, and most officers aren't trained to do them.)
And then on top of ALL THAT? You've got to remember not to answer *any* questions the officer has for you, and you're most likely going to need an attorney for something when everything is said and done. Just a massive headache from moment one, even if again, you're stone cold sober.

My scary traffic stop story:
On a major highway in the Chicago burbs doing 75 in a 55.. getting over to the right lane for an exit.. state cop's lights go on..
Pulled over just before the exit, but I hit a car's drive shaft lying on the edge of the road.. I was so much more concerned with my car, that I jumped out of the car and checked on what I hit and if it had done any damage.
I must have really spooked the cop.. He ordered me back into the car with his loudspeaker.. then he approached and took all my info.. I explained my actions.. but he looked shaken.. he let me off.. but told me never ever to exit the car when stopped!

We snuck in there at a good time -- but then we did a sub-vacation to Bryce Canyon. One really funny bit -- I got a phone call from the car rental place.....but they wouldn't admit that GPS had tracked us into Utah and they were worried. Hobs get some sorcery bloodlines, the Hobs are the organized bad guys.
Humans casters are limited to priests and very low level wizards. Who are taught by dragons and reviled. Only priests who get spells above 3rd level are Christian (to include Dwarves who revere their Creator - Moradin.) Working on how to handle druids and witches/alchemy.
Goal was to reduce complexity. Just edited down the SRD.

Listen, some of these polls are absolute garbage, and I'm as far from a Trump fan as you will find. When you look at the internals, that's where they go off the rails. For example, one of them had Cankles leading by 11. In it, Trump got 80% of the GOP vote, 8% of the Dem vote. Cankles got 79% of the Dem vote, 8% of the GOP vote. Trump led Independents 40 to 35. On the morning it was to be returned I had to put it through the car wash three times and still ask the guy to use the high pressure hose to get the mud out of the inside of the front bumper. The drive tot he site wasn't especially rough for a vehicle like that but the dust got into everything and turned to mud during the wash rather than running out.
I was pretty nervous when I took it back but the guy looked at it for a couple minutes and said I was good. I got out of there fast.

The hard part will be pulling the joints tight. I will use some tricky inlaid mechanical unions at the joints. But if I get the compound cuts wrong I am sure you will hear me swearing at your house.

Neither universe is believable, Star Wars because it was fantasy from the get go, and Star Trek because it was a stand-in for the Cold War era. Everything needed to be analogous to things the audience understood. As real life overran the imaginations of the original writers, the universe became less and less believable. Too many far future developments have already appeared in our lifetime and much of the promised tech remains fantasy ans will likely always be that way.
Get over it and move on. They were never the future.
