3 Good Morning Morons. Today is Tuesday, November 03, 2015. On this day in 1911 Chevrolet officially entered the automobile market in competition with Ford. This sparked a rivalry that continues to this day.

5 Black race-baiting professor claims she was hassled by white cops for "walking while black". However, it was fortunate that the police had left the dash cam on and recorded the whole thing. They had stopped her and cautioned her to walk on the side of the road as she had been strolling blithely down the center of the road without a care in the world.

7 Obama really is a stupid SOB:

President Obama mocked Republican presidential candidates for demanding a series of changes to the format of their televised debates, saying they would not be able to deal with Russia or China if they can't handle a bunch of CNBC moderators.

Oh how he would scream if a news organization treated him the way NBC treated the Republicans instead of constantly kissing his ass. And it appears to me that the candidates are able to deal with NBC's crap, they refuse to hold any more debates with them.

12 A leaked Obama document reveals that the corrupt Obama plans on ignoring the court ordered injunction on his illegal amnesty. Recall his lawyers have already been chastised by the judge for continuing to let in illegals after the court order. The problem is that the judge has not thrown any of Obama's senior executives in jail for contempt yet. I think it is past time. Once again imagine the outcry from the MFM if a Republican had flaunted the law like this. The calls for impeachment would be deafening. But for Obama it is "off the table".

30 Liberal sister was watching a documentary recently on PBS (of course) about the Orson Wells radio broadcast of War of the Worlds and the panic it caused. This is the first she has heard about it in her 50+ years on this planet so of course she posts about it on Hatebook about how dangerous media manipulation can be and, of course, how stupid Americans are. Let me emphasize, this is the first she has heard about an event that has been written about, discussed and analyzed endlessly for the past 70 years, she is just hearing about it on PBS which makes her smart as she hints in her post about it and the rest of us are the stupid ones.

F*ing incredible.

''The White House's new plan calls for the US to get better at predicting space weather, shore up our infrastructure against EMPs, and more, the Chronicle reports. It's a plan we may truly need: The Post quotes NASA as stating there's a 12% chance of a giant solar flare in the next 10 years.''

I think their math needs checking, or somebody put the decimal point in the wrong place. I'd estimate odds, based on hundred plus year history at 1.2%. Sure, there could be a giant solar flare, but we're zipping along at about 70, 000 mph, not exactly a sitting duck.

That being said, there could be better overload protection of the grid against the almost inevitable Iranian emp.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of the GOPe "media" to this. Seems quite possible they will pay no attention, being totally focused on the Eeeeeevils Who Must Be Destroyed that are Shrillery and Teh Donald.

Since calling for Choom Boy's impeachment -- IMO, given his felony count, we should skip straight to "arrest" -- would violate the off-the-table pledge taken by members of Conservative Journolist (they know who they are) I expect the loudest noise will be some polite tut-tutting, perhaps accompanied by mild hand-wringing.

39 NASA hasn't been worth a shit in decades. They became a political organization long ago and with a Grade "A" asshole in charge their politics is lacking. We are at the point where we need to eliminate NASA and turn over space stuff to the Air Force where it used to be.

And then fire everybody in NASA.

Lib sister is very successful and hardworking. Easily in the 2% but spews all the
OWS hate about the 1%. Apparently the cutoff point for greed is slightly
more than whatever she is earning. Also Joe six-pack owning a bass boat to go fishing on weekends is a huge waste of energy and resources but flying around the country 10 time a year to hippie music festivals is her just reward for her hard work. Pointing these things out makes me a hater.

Oddly enough, in Eastern MA we are well below-average this year, rainfall-wise. Near-term predictions call for continued dry weather and slightly above-average temps.

It was supposed to lesson wait times by giving free health care to the FSA so they would not use the ER for normal health services. But as we have seen it is only "free" for Obama's chosen people. The rest of the people who don't get it free had their costs increased and have moved back to the ER.

I have had my experience with "wait times" in the ER when I had my heart attack. The ER was full of migrants from South of the border getting free health care.

83 On the average, it takes three years from the time a NextDoor site is
created for a community, and the novelty wears off, and it becomes a
total MoonBat podium for preaching.

We're in our 2nd year now. Already have seen a comment chastising a poster for "offensively" reporting deed restriction violations on a rent house with multi-families living in it. We're deeded strictly for single family housing.

MoonBat Commentater decried the attitude of only wanting single families living in the houses in the neighborhood as not all creative and blended families can afford a house on their own and may need to bunch together to enjoy the suburban lifestyle.

I looked up Ms. MoonBat. She's the wife of my next door neighbor. He's a good guy but she creatively spelled her first name on NextDoor so I didn't recognize it right off.

Wave and smile.

the court ordered injunction on his illegal amnesty. Recall his lawyers
have already been chastised by the judge for continuing to let in
illegals after the court order. The problem is that the judge has not
thrown any of Obama's senior executives in jail for contempt yet. I
think it is past time. Once again imagine the outcry from the MFM if a

What Vic has said here is actually the key strategy. Yes. Hillary is too big to jail. So is Obama. Since they are untouchable, stop trying to prosecute them for giving illegal orders. Prosecute the people who obey the illegal orders. They are not too big to jail. When federal employees are afraid that they will go to jail or at least be fired and loose their pensions if they follow illegal orders, fewer illegal orders will be issued and obeyed.

In their interviews with the local rag they all talk about how eager they are to get their hands on SPLOST and all the wonderful things they plan to do with SPLOST. After a few nights with hookers and blow you feel really SPLOST and that's where my money goes, to their crony friends to invest in hookers and blow. The local government is corrupt as can be but not a single candidate ever says, "hey, maybe this whole SPLOST tax grab is the reason for the corruption". Their all, "PICK ME! PICK ME! I'N NEXT!".

But I'll vote, write in a few names of people that are decent but were forced out, a few that aren't perfect but better and at the end of the day see that nothing changed.

And he's talking about applicants. Once someone is identified as a candidate, all the background checks will still happen. Nobody gets a federal job, not even the cleaning staff, without providing detailed information about their past, who they know, where they worked before, and yes, their criminal history.

Sidewalks are concrete, which is harder and less forgiving on runners' knees than the asphalt of the roadway.

Posted by: Case, Mors Semper Tyrannis at November 03, 2015 08:03 AM (HSAmh)

155 Let's face it, the worst Star Trek episodes ever were when they took on contemporary social issues. Frank Gorshin made up like a black-and-white cookie to ham-fist the point that "Racism is bad" in the original Star Trek, for example. Or in Star Trek: The Next Generation, when in a tortured analogy to Global Warming, Star Fleet ordered its starships to slow down because Warp Speed was destroying the universe. By the end of Star Trek: Voyager, things had gotten so silly that we were treated to multiple episodes demanding equal rights for holograms; that's akin to saying the characters of 'Hogan's Heroes' and 'The Brady Bunch' should be treated like real people and given voting rights.

156 You are just waking up to this now? Yes. This is in
fact the case. And this is what the American people want. The
realization hit me on November 7, 2012. It is not going to
get better again after Obama is gone. The same people who reelected him
will still be the majority of the population and the millions or
illegally admitted but newly registered voters are even more
enthusiastic to recreate the banana republics they came from. Posted by: Obnoxious A-Hole at November 03, 2015 07:52 AM

I "woke up to this" in 2008. Earlier, actually. I remember the Clinton era. And -- though some staunch Republicans still disagree with me -- the Nixon years. And LBJ.

But Choom Boy has brought the American system to a new low, in which a nation that was founded to live in freedom now willingly accepts rule-by-thug.

One reason for punishment being included in the law codes is to remind those of weak character that crime does not pay. We've turned that notion completely on its head. Too many cheer the most egregious lawbreaker in D.C. while still paying lip service to the idea of America.

Impeachment might not hurt President Historic First as much as I'd like, but it would serve as a wake-up call to those who think of following in his corrupt footsteps.

Sometimes, the social justice episodes were so inept, they ended up making the opposite of the point they intended. The Next Generation's single most boringest episode ever, The Outcast, was an hour-long lecture on LGBT issues, that, oddly enough, ended with the "homosexual" alien being cured through psychological treatment.

Or Voyager's single-payer health care propaganda piece, "Critical Care," in which a state-run medical system gave the rich and elite top-shelf treatment while letting the poor suffer and die. Like, this was supposed to sell us on Hillarycare?

Further thoughts in re ST: I know someone online demolished the whole "the Federation doesn't use money" silliness, but to me, the inherent unreality of the Trek world came to me during The Wrath of Khan. There's a scene near the beginning, just after Saavik has failed the Kobiyashi Maru test, where either she and Spock or Kirk and Spock (I forget) are talking, and in the background is a fellow with a floor buffer cleaning the Academy floors.

I immediately thought, "if there's no money in the Federation, why is this guy doing such a menial job?" It's like the old joke about the worst job on a starship is to be the guy who has to squeegee the holodeck - if the economy runs without money, how do people survive and how do you get people to do the jobs Terrans won't do? Subcontract it all out to the Klingons?

your standard, out of the box fymynyst.

I think enthusiasm for her dropped after that. Mine certainly did.

Conservatives would love a Margaret Thatcher of our own in the White House,

but a whyny fymynyst?

Nope.

While she made some CEO calls that are controversial for some, I don't hold that against her.

What I want to know, clearly spoken - is where she stands on H1B visas, illegal aliens, and border security.

Where does she stand on the hoax of AGW?

I haven't heard anything about those yet,

and the current

Pie Fight Among Clowns format of the "debates"

hasn't informed me of anything useful.

I think the City of Houston proper is addressing that with their tranny open bathroom access ordinance.
$24M for Animal Shelters. As one MoonBat neighbor on NextDoor commented:
"Saying that 24M is too much to be spent on animals, so we better use it on people to me is insulting." and "I think 24M is NOT enough. I think Houston needs to turn a moral,
ethical and social corner in how the disadvantaged are treated!! Number 1
in sex trafficking and animal abuse! There is a DIRECT connection
between animal abuse and abuse of people, we can all work together.

I say spend 50M, build the best shelter, refuge, animal and care centers in the country!"

Why, aren't you the noble and generous one with my money! So caring with your feelz! Bless your bleeding heart!

225 One interesting theory about the crash is metal fatigue. The plane sat around on some 180 degree runway for too long, then shot up into below freezing temperatures too quickly. Now they had to climb fast to cruising altitude quickly to get out of range of terrorist missiles. Being the mideast and all.

It's going to be an interesting investigation. Something caused that tail section to come off far away from the wreckage. Metal fatigue seems plausible, a terrorist getting a bomb into that area, not so much.

249 CBS News' national security correspondent David Martin reports a U.S. infrared satellite detected a heat flash over the Sinai at the time the Russian plane went down. The data is still being analyzed in an effort to determine what caused the flash. One possibility is a bomb, but an explosion in a fuel tank or engine as the result of a mechanical failure is also possible.

Some aviation experts raised the possibility that a bomb on board the Metrojet Airbus A321-200 brought it down, while others cited an incident in 2001 when the aircraft grazed the runway with its tail while landing.

260 JAL Flt 123, after 22 minutes in the air, crashed into a ridgeline near Mt. Fuji.

Some 12,000 flights prior it had suffered a tail strike on landing that damaged the aft pressure bulkhead. The repair carried out by Boeing was done incorrectly, the patch panels were only riveted using a single line of rivets instead of the required two lines. So as the 747 climbed to altitude the aft pressure bulkhead finally failed. The sudden decompression blew almost the whole vertical stabilizer off and destroyed all the flight control hydraulics.

Amazingly when rescuers finally arrived, there were still four people alive out of the 500 or so on board.

Not sure, but I would imagine a missile would leave a heat trail that a satellite should be able to pick up. Nobody's sayin' nothin' 'bout that.

On the contrary, I think the existence of insurance actually drives up the price of care.

My primary care physician charges $800 for annual physical. That consists of one minute of auscultation, and nine minutes of typing (actually copying-and-pasting) sh!t on a computer. That kind of price-gouging is the norm, and it is the very root of the problem.

I retired 3 years ago and I did a 45 minute exam for an annual and billed $150. I don't know who the fuck you are going to but you need to switch doctors.

297 Does aussie still come around? Two Australia-related things showed up in my Inbox this morning. One, the new season of "Dreamland", on Netflix. It's an Office-type parody of an NGO that mocks bureaucracy and Govt. programs, not as funny as it could be, but pretty good. The other is that I am tentatively scheduled to call a game for the Australian Men's team in Greensboro next month. It's all coming up koalas this morning.

And, by the way, the Chinese and Russians aren't too worried about you.

303 Just spitballing here, but when a candidate for local judge brags about his endorsements from various police unions, the county sheriff, etc., does anybody else thing it's entirely inappropriate for said candidate for the judiciary to appear heavily, politically beholden to the armed wing of the executive branch?

Third World problem. Can't happen here in the United States. We have laws.

305 Ugh. What a morning. Power goes out at the house until 10 minutes after I leave for work, then I have to spend time figure out WTH the big-ass spider was I saw outside one of the front windows. (Garden spider. Big, not an issue for humans, not a concern. Except for my lizard friends out front.)

When you spend the morning doing the Internet equivalent of a police lineup using pictures of spiders, well, this arachnophobe will be drinking heavily this evening.

307 Anonymous says they released some phone numbers and email addresses, but no names yet. (There's apparently a second, fake list, with the names of senators and mayors, which is disinformation spread by some anti-Anonymous hacktavist called Amped.)

On the first supposedly-real Anonymous list (which is apparently only emails and phone numbers at this point), the FIRST item is: "invisibleempireofalabama@gmail.com"

This is news.

The guy using "invisibleempireofalabama@gmail.com" is, get this, a Klansman.

You hear that, everybody? The owner of "invisibleempireofalabama@gmail.com" is in the Klan.

Whoopdie-fucking-do.

309 Drudge Headline---

"Climate Change" kills mood: Economists warn of less sex on warmer planet.

So funny, i don't know where to start. Maybe the joke about how much sex economists get in an ideal climate.
How about pointing out what the birth rates are in the warmer climates of the world compared to those less warm.....
Doesn't really seem like the tropical turd-worlders are having a tough time keeping their numbers up.

Warmists really are at the "say anything' point to sell their issue I guess.

310 I confess to the guilty pleasure of watching the imitation-TOS series Star Trek Continues. Mostly, it's fun to see James Doohan's son playing Scotty.

The fourth episode (I think) starts off with Kirk getting a brain disease and being cured of it (instant cures a specialty!) using an experimental non-approved drug. (Take THAT, FDA!) Kirk then remembers a gal that Spock had mind-melded him to "forget... forget...."

So instead of watching the Continues episode, we hauled out the original - "Requiem for Methuselah." I thought I had all the old ones memorized, from back in the college days when we got them from three different TV stations. But apparently I had blocked this one out, alllll out.

Boy, was it bad! Kirk falls in love with an android within about five minutes. I mean love, not his usual lust. Then he and the Lazarus Long character - the andorid gal's "father/lover" (!!) physically wrestle over her and she dies because love.

Made me not want to watch the follow-up Continues episode now.

Did they ever do a real "wagon train to the stars" episode (as Roddenberry sold it to the network)? I can't think of one. Those old half-hour westerns used to have some great tales. The lost art of TV drama.

311 >>>>My Obamacare policy is going up from $77/month to $165/month next year.
(Having said that, I must note that it will still be better and less
expensive insurance than what I had before Obamacare.) Healthcare
prices are just insanely out of control, and I doubt that any insurance
regime can help control them. On the contrary, I think the existence of
insurance actually drives up the price of care.

My primary care physician charges $800 for annual physical. That
consists of one minute of auscultation, and nine minutes of typing
(actually copying-and-pasting) sh!t on a computer. That kind of
price-gouging is the norm, and it is the very root of the problem.
.
.
.I get my Nexium through Kroger using TRICARE from my Retired Navy and I just got a "statement" from them.

Kroger charges $800 for a 90 day supply of Nexium and TRICARE actually paid them $600 of that, they pay Kroger $2,400 a year just for my Nexium. That is criminally insane. I can go to COSTCO or Sam's Club and get the very same thing for $48 for 90 pills.

The whole thing is a huge scheme and everybody from the Federal Government on down through the Insurance Companies and drug makers are in on it.

312 FenelonSpoke, if you're still around:

I was just kinda joking about getting depressed. I highly value Vic's news. And views. The cynics and curmudgeons don't bother me - and often they have some great points to make behind the cloud of Doom.

I also greatly appreciate your upbeat stuff, and just because it may not get the same response as downbeat news, don't think you aren't read and appreciated. Sometimes there's just less to be said to the good things. Tolkien had a line about that, sorta.

In any case, sounds a little like you're letting the snark and grump get you down. That's worrisome, since you are the official beacon of light around here. Have a chocolate chip cookie, ponder Jesus saying what does it matter to a believer if the whole world should pass away (where is that, I want to find the verse), smile a big smile, then plow on through the mud like it's fun.

And I'll try to take my own advice on that.

319 Has anyone else noticed that the more local spending on "public works" the more hideous "to code" things get built? LED/super bright traffic lights, needless warning lights around turns, extra/stupid signs for every church and every residence of a deaf or retarded kid, zebra sidewalk stripes, extra-ugly new bright yellow lines on any road over 20 mph, bumpy "weatherproof" ramps on every sidewalk?

Its not just that they "waste" money, but the money they spend makes things actively worse --because all the "standards" and "codes" are written by do-nothing, teat sucking bureaucrats with "mo safety" in mind, who care nothing about the look and feel of a city.

Happy election day!

320 What's this crap about no money in ST?

"The Trouble With Tribbles": "The price is 20 credits."

I read that to mean that all exchanges on major Federation world's and bases are done electronically, with a credit card. Just like most transactions today. Maybe the more primitive world's used items as a medium of exchange.
