Two Inspector Generals Urge Criminal Probe In Hillary Clinton's Use of Emails

Yeah I'm sure Obama will get right on top of appointing a special prosecutor.

Criminal Inquiry Sought in Hillary Clinton's Use of Email

WASHINGTON -- Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday.

The request follows an assessment in a June 29 memo by the inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence agencies that Mrs. Clinton's private account contained "hundreds of potentially classified emails." The memo was written to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management.

...

The Justice Department has not decided if it will open an investigation, senior officials said. A spokesman for Mrs. Clinton’s campaign declined to comment.

...

On Monday, a federal judge sharply questioned State Department lawyers at a hearing in Washington about why they had not responded to Freedom of Information Act requests from The Associated Press, some of which were four years old.

"I want to find out what’s been going on over there -- I should say, what’s not been going on over there," said Judge Richard J. Leon of United States District Court, according to a transcript obtained by Politico. The judge said that "for reasons known only to itself," the State Department "has been, to say the least, recalcitrant in responding."

Oh, and you should also know: Hillary Clinton called the New York Times to complain about the headline and the story, and, get this, the New York Times changed the story to be more agreeable to Her Awfulness.

This might be one of those cases where the media does something they know is wrong so they run to Politico to spin it -- because, of course, Politico has that story.

The New York Times made small but significant changes to an exclusive report about a potential criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's State Department email account late Thursday night, but provided no notification of or explanation for of the changes.

The paper initially reported that two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation "into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state."

That clause, which cast Clinton as the target of the potential criminal probe, was later changed: the inspectors general now were asking for an inquiry "into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state."

The Times also changed the headline of the story, from "Criminal Inquiry Sought in Hillary Clinton’s Use of Email" to "Criminal Inquiry Is Sought in Clinton Email Account," reflecting a similar recasting of Clinton's possible role. The article's URL was also changed to reflect the new headline.

Yeah. What wacko-birds, huh?

34 One thing I hope Hilery does when she's installed in office is give the rest of us some sort of way to tell the good guys from the bad guys.

Something like, if you are one of Hilary's people, you can wear armbands, with a sharp looking HH on it, to symbolize members of the inner henchmen circle. The rest of her people, some sort of patch, with interlocking, right-angled lines.

Then everyone else could war sewn on... I don't know, yellow stars... or I suppose other colored stars to designate how you are different (maybe red for rednecks, brown for Tea Party types, orange for hunters).

We can work on this. Some order needs to be maintained.

Clearly.

And yes, we should totally be taking economic cues from Communist China, who has been cooking their books for decades.

Im-Ex is essentially a too big to fail bailout package waiting to happen for some of our larger exporters.

If Boeing and Caterpillar can't export without it, maybe they should just stop exporting all together. but something tells me they'd be able to get along just fine without uncle sams help.

It also makes us internationally uncompetitive. Europeans get pissed because they say the US govt subsidizes Boeing more than their govts subsidize Airbus, which is, er, sort of true.

So they don't by Boeings out of a European pride thing. Maybe we'd be able to sell more Boeings to Europe and the Middle East and compete better against Airbus if Boeing wasn't seen around the world as an arm of the US government.

132 That Sargent thread is amazing.

Reading top to bottom he starts off saying basically "I don't know why the NYT changed the story, and neither do you, it could be they got something wrong". At the bottom he's dead certain, "They changed the story because they were wrong."

What information did he get in the interim? Nothing. I say that because he offers zero proof, and you know if he had proof he'd be linking everyone to it while screaming, "I have proof you were wrong!!"

It's fascinating to me because it's a window into the mind of a hack. He starts off with a somewhat reasonable doubt, "I don't know why this happened, here's a generous, possible explanation". Then that doubt becomes cemented "fact" in his mind and he starts sneering at anyone who disagrees with what initially was just a generous possibility.

I think her private email server move was as much to hide emails from Obama and team as it was to hide them from the mean Republicans.

Because if you recall, Dems ran both houses when Hillary became SoS. So she wasn't worried about Congress.

-----

What do you want him to do? Senators don't really have much of a record without other senators.

If Cruz needs an accomplishment, I would say it is the 2014 midterms. I have no way to know for sure that his shutdown gambit helped, but it didn't hurt. So I'll just say it helped.

I'm just not sure what people are really expecting from him? Personally I like him right where he is. The libs had the liberal lion - why can't we conservatives have the conservative tiger? Of course, he would have to stay there for 30 years.

208 @164 - it wasn't just that the Dems had both houses, it's that they had both houses AND the Presidency AND assumed that the Permanent Democrat Majority would keep it that was for at least six years and probably longer.

This administration came into office assuming it could get away with anything, Constitution be damned, law be damned, regulation be damned, tradition be damned.

The 2010 election slowed that for a while, but once it became clear to Obama's crew that the GOP leadership would be able to suppress or coopt its activists it was once again business as usual, if just a little more quietly so and Obama's reelection etched that in stone.

2014 was no more than a hiccup for the Chicago Fascist agenda because it was now clear that the GOP leadership was willing to be buggered five times a week and twice on Sunday to avoid any appearance of discord or any offense to their Chamber of Commerce puppetmasters.

So, the Democrats may be losing the statehouses, but they've got the national GOP leadership by the balls.

If you ever had a leadership willing seriously to look at the behavior of Obama's Cabinet in the first term, particularly, you'd need to build more jails.

Gotta with polygamy. Too soon for the inter-species marriage push. That comes after the pedophile marriage and incestuous marriage push.

I've got this, Clark. I've got the experience and seniority.

259 and incestuous marriage push.

The old, "If they're not good enough for our family, how can they be good enough for yours?" angle?

261 The thing is, O's people HATE the Clintons. I could see them wanting to damage Hillary!, even if it means she loses. Fundamental transformation requires widespread failure and while O has created the conditions, it's best to have a feckless, statist fake conservative (Jeb!) to blame when the failure occurs.

Bingo. My thoughts exactly.

I think we're being played.

It just seems like the GOPe and the whole DC establishment wants to
give us an illusion of choice, but it's really... not there.

And I think that's why people like Trump. Because it's clear he is not run or in cahoots with your betters in DC.

But the GOPe gives us "centrist" Jeb, "young insurgent" Rubio,
"conservative stalwart" Cruz, and "wacko bird" Paul and says -- "pick
one. Well, no not that one. Noo... how about... okay, okay... yeah,
that's a good one! Good choice! Isn't a representative republic
great?!?"Posted by: mynewhandle at July 24, 2015 01:01 PM (AkOaV)<<<

264 What possible reason would Obama have to protect Clinton unless he knows that she has opposition research goods on him from 2008 or exposure of her emails would expose him or his minions as well.

I don't see him willingly trying to protect her.

Alliance of political convenience, big money leftists (i.e. $oro$) forcing them to play nice and the fact that each camp has enough dirt on the other to create a Mutually Assured Destruction scenario if they go to war. This is how leftists have always worked. We'll funnel you crap-tons of money and let you indulge your personal vices but step out of line and we'll destroy you utterly.

267 DOJ says that they have not been asked by the IGs for any investigation. Please note that no IGs were actually named as sources. This looks to me to be another Underage Dominican Hookers story.
