Weekend Driving Dangers
This weekend will be especially dangerous for drivers in North Carolina because the state police will be enforcing a few laws. Their crack training and abilities will allow them to suddenly enforce laws regarding littering and seat belts. This is big news this weekend because apparently these laws are not routinely enforced and the police have so much extra time on their hands that they decided to enforce some laws this weekend.
As of yet, there is no official word on how many other laws will be ignored by the police, as happens in the city of Charlotte. In case you're not aware of that situation, try this on for size: Policeman is alerted to a crime in progress. Policeman reports said crime. CRIMINAL complains about being reported for committing a crime. Chief of Police apologizes to CRIMINAL and reprimands policeman for enforcing the law. Charlotte Chief has not said what other laws he has selected to ignore. Nope, there's no sign of the nation of laws that used to exist. We are now a nation of men, subject to the whims of annointed leaders who decide everything and anything.Posted by: Ogre at 03:02 PM | Comments (0) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
NC Zoo Wants Cash, Too
With North Carolina taking more money than they expected from it's hard working taxpayers, everyone and their brother is lining up at the feed trough, demanding "their share" of the spoils. Now even the NC Zoo is asking for a truckload of money.
Sorry, money-grubbing, mooching looters. If you used to donate money to the zoo (as I used to every single year), there's really no reason for you to donate your $10, $50, or even $10,000 -- it's nothing to these greedy bastards who are now getting $6 million from the state -- which YOU already paid to them. Greedy thieves like this will only get less the more they demand and take from me.Posted by: Ogre at 01:07 PM | Comments (0) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Education Problem? Throw Money At It!
Oh, the poor children. It's the end of the world for children because the state is utterly incompetent. Therefore, the state needs to raise taxes and spend more money to hide their inability to educate.
That's the summary of this article that describes a potential plan to pay even more money to teachers in North Carolina -- as much as 57% more. They claim that there is a retention problem with teachers and by spending more money that problem will go away. It hasn't worked in the past, but like every other Democrat program, the solution is always just a little more money. Teachers aren't leaving the industry due to lack of money. They're leaving the public education system because it stinks. They have no control over their classrooms. They're punished if they say the wrong thing at the wrong time. They're not allowed to throw disruptive students out of the classrooms. They're punished if they don't pass enough students. More money isn't going to solve that problem. In addition, in a capitalist system, you earn money for doing one of two things -- doing something no one else can do, or something that no one else wants to do. Programming a computer is something few people can do -- therefore those who CAN do it get more money. Picking up trash is something few people want to do -- so they earn more money. Brain surgery is something that few can do and few WANT to do -- so they earn even more. Teaching is not a difficult thing to do -- and there are currently a lot of people willing to do it -- so it does not command a high salary in a capitalist society. Government is interfering with the supply and demand, so the rules don't completely apply. But throwing more money will simply allow the people who are already doing it to earn more -- but that's not going to solve all the other myriad problems associated with public education. If you don't believe me, compare the attrition rate of government school teachers and private school teachers -- it's not about the money.Posted by: Ogre at 11:03 AM | Comments (0) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

Stop the ACLU
Hat tip: Pretend Pundit Via ACLU Website:

Responding to reports that phone companies are turning over private details about Americans’ telephone calls to the National Security Agency, the American Civil Liberties Union today launched a nationwide initiative to end illegal government spying. ACLU affiliates in 20 states today filed complaints with Public Utility Commissions or sent letters to state Attorneys General and other officials demanding investigations into whether local telecommunications companies allowed the NSA to spy on their customers. “We cannot sit by while the government and the phone companies collude in this massive, illegal and fundamentally unAmerican invasion of our privacy,” said ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero. “And unfortunately, we cannot wait for Congress to act. The ACLU is mobilizing its members and supporters nationwide to demand investigations into this shocking breach of trust. And we are asking the FCC to use its authority to uncover the facts about how far the president's illegal spying has gone. The American people want answers.”

ACLU Censors Own Board
The ACLU is telling it's own board members that they are simply not permitted to disagree with the stated official (communist) positions of the ACLU. Well, at least they're staying true to their roots of communism -- you weren't allowed to critique the communist government, either.
No Free Speech for the ACLU -- and they really don't see that as hypocrisy.Posted by: Ogre at 03:06 PM | Comments (0) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

Moonbat Bush Hatred Continues
The moonbats continue their unabashed hatred of President Bush. A "group" has been pushing the Durham City Council to support a resolution that asks U.S. House members to impeach Bush. They also want the North Carolina Legislature to formally ask the U.S. House to impeach Bush. What are the charges?
Both resolutions allege that Bush made "false and misleading statements" to justify the war in Iraq, violated laws regulating domestic surveillance and violated a treaty barring the use of torture.
I'm willing to bet these exact same people opposed Clinton being impeached for lying because it's okay to lie about sex but not about war. And no, the resolutions do not list what statements were made that were lies. And for the loons who attempt to back this, keep in mind hindsight is 20/20 -- if I say something I believe is true and it turns out to be wrong, that's not a lie, that's just being wrong. Well, it's better to have Democrats and lunatics yelling and whining about not being in power than having them in power.

NC Poll Results
A recent poll says that 56% of the people of North Carolina are not happy with Bush these days. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the president of an invading country (Mexico) taking a tour of his conquered lands (Mexifornia) that used to be under control of Bush.
44 and 45% of North Carolina residents (actually voters because these polls only poll likely voters) think the NC Legislature is doing a bad job and that North Carolina is headed in the wrong direction. That has nothing to do with the fact that criminal charges have been brought against nearly everyone involved with starting up the state lottery, I'm sure. Finally, EIGHTY PERCENT want the overpayment of taxes refunded to them. So what's the legislature to do? LIE. Claim you're giving tax cuts and reductions when you're not. It's simple because the press will print whatever lies the Democrats tell them to. One day maybe the people will wake up and realize they're being blatantly lied to. Maybe not.Posted by: Ogre at 11:04 AM | Comments (1) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

BlogExplosion
It's been quite awhile since I mentioned anything about these blog services, so I thought I'd take a moment and describe one. BlogExplosion is a, well, I'm not exactly sure what it is -- it's a web site that lets people browse blogs. If you're looking for completely random blogs, it's a good place to start out exploring. And, since they need blogs to display, you can display your own blog.
So you head over there and you "surf" various blogs at random. You find new ones, you comment, find new layouts, whatever. As you're surfing, you gain credits. Those credits are then used to display your blog to others who are surfing, too. It's a neat way to find new blogs and a neat way to get your blog some more exposure. So, if you've never tried one of these things out or seen it, why not take a peek at BlogExplosion -- it's worked pretty good for me.

Criminal Invasion Threats Continue
Go ahead and read this story about a recent contact with criminal alien invaders in CHICAGO. Oh, and before you read it, realize that the author is a relatively small-framed female, riding a bus alone. She tells about a ride on a bus.
Now just imagine the story if the writer were a black person and the harassers were white. You'd have every race huckster in the world running to Chicago and searching for news cameras. But since the attackers are supporting criminal invaders and illegal aliens and the victim is white, there's nothing wrong. How much longer before the race war escalates into armed conflict?Posted by: Ogre at 05:03 PM | Comments (2) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Fair Tax?
This week we're fortunate enough to have a professional video produced by the folks at Americans for Fair Taxation. It gives a good overview of taxation in America, grassroots movements (and the FairTax initiative is definitely a grassroots issue!), and some good information about the FairTax and how it works. If you have a friend or family member who is not familiar with the FairTax, just have them watch this video. It's less than 20 minutes long, and definitely worth your time!

Congress Above the Law?
As is being reported everywhere, members of Congress are annoyed that the FBI dared to search a sitting Congressman's office. They are complaining that it's a constitutional violation and that the Executive Branch "crossed a line that separates Congress from the executive branch."
One problem -- the executive branch didn't do this -- both the judicial branch AND the executive branch agreed that there was evidence of a crime that had been committed -- a felony -- and that a sitting Congressman had committed the crime. It's called checks and balances and it appeared to work just right so far. If this search is ruled invalid, then Congress will be utterly, completely, above the law. If a Congressman commits a murder in his offices, are the police allowed to investigate? Those who oppose this search are saying that yes, the Congressman's office are literally completely above the law and could not be searched. When two branches of government agree that a felony may have been committed, by what right does Congress attempt to obstruct that investigation? The Gun-Toting Liberal wonders why THIS one is a big deal (and suggests that he thinks it's unconstitutional, too). And William Teach points out that it's perfectly Constitutional.Posted by: Ogre at 02:57 PM | Comments (0) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
