Using Fonts

Hey guys!!

I have a quick question about using fonts in a post: how can I get my Stylesheet (if that's it) to utilize a font NOT already included??

Once in a blue moon, I like to insert something inside a blockquote that uses Courier or New Courier, specifically for bass guitar tab notation where the spacing of the characters is important.

I have tried the typical font = "Courier", but without knowing where to adjust my Stylesheet, it's just so much flotsam in the post.

Oh and since I'm whining - how can I adjust the font size and how?

(Once again, I am indebted to Pixy for allowing my smelly behind to be included in the ever-expanding Munu universe. Really.....thanks metric tons Pixy!!)

2 just noticed you asked about font size as well. So, something like this would do everything you are asking about.

<blockquote><span style="font:courier; font-size:12px;">text you want to display this way instead of your default style</span></blockquote>

3 Point of order - eric is spot on but you could save time and typing by adding <blockquote style="font:courier; font-size:12px;"> etc. no need for the nested span

It's still coming out looking disjointed.

Okay, I get how to insert the random font change, but doesn't the Stylesheet need to be adjusted such that it knows what I'm talking about if I were to put this modification into my post?

5 Rob, you're absolutely right. I just tend to keep each of my tags as simple as possible.

Mikey, make sure you are closing your spans or blockquotes, whichever way you're doing it. You don't have to put anything in your style sheet. This overrides the style sheet.

6 An easy alternative may be to use the HTML "Code" tag. I.e., <code>text of post</code>

7 Okay, I tried the 'code' tags and it worked - marginally.

I ended up putting the tags at the beginning and end of each section of the text I needed to change - and it worked!
