MT Blacklist Conundrum

Here's an interesting Blacklist problem. I just attempted to leave a comment on my blog - Hold the Mayo - in response to another comment. In my comment I referred to John Kerry's thinly disguised socialism.

The problem is someone has blacklisted Cialis. Now I have gotten enough spam to know that blacklisting cialis is a perfectly sensible thing to do.

I also know next to nothing about the function of the blacklist. Is it possible to assign exceptions to a blacklisted word to cover a circumstance such as this?

I did find a work-around that will work for the site author only. Post your comment without the offending word or misspelling it. Then go into the entry page and edit the comment. Editing the comment apparently bypasses the blacklist.

1 Editing the comment apparently bypasses the blacklist.

That's pretty valuable info, Steve.

3 This came up over at Michele's A Small Victory. The fix there was, people simply placed a hyphen in the "s" word. Ugly, but effective.

4 The last time this came up, I think Pixy recommended that they just be called "godless commies."
