How on earth?
I opened my horde mail box this PM (something which I haven't done for a while) and found over 2200 emails, the vast majority of which are from Mailer Daemon or similar programs returning an email that I didn't send. They have email senders addy like "mibgmroperneg@gmroper.com' and gmroper@akane.mu.nu etc. Has someone hijacked Horde? What can I do now or in the future?

You haven't been hijacked. This is a problem common to all website owners.
Because other Munuvians (Hi Mad Mikey!) have asked about this before, I've written up an explanation of the problem and how to deal with it.
