Novice Questions

Is it possible to prevent the "Comments ()" link from even appearing at the bottom of posts in MT2.6 ? (Not just from one post, but from all.) If not, is there something I can do to modify how it appears or what happens when the 'sorry' message comes up, after I've disallowed comments?

1 You want to completely disallow all comments on all posts at all times? Sure, that's easy, but is that what you really want?

2 You can just remove that bit from the template - then it will be gone for good.

4 I think I've got it. Deleted two sections from the Main Index Template that appeared to be related to comments and trackbacks. So far doesn't seem to have ruined anything, but there's always that possibility.

One of the databases at work dropped dead today. No reason; it just didn't want to work any more.
