Who needs Sitemeter? Or Statcounter?

Look!

Up in the sky!

Is it a gif?

Is it a Javascript?

No!

It's MUNU COUNTER!

Just add this to your templates in the appropriate place:

Stand up and be counted!

Unfortunately, right now only I can see the stats, but I'll write I have written a little script to publish them periodically at counter.mu.nu.

1 Do we install this in our templates and then it will count all the hits from everyone in MuNu? If so that's sounds like a cool idea.

5 No, it's entirely invisible. But the stats at counter.mu.nu should update every two hours.

There's a slight problem here, in that viewing the stats page skews the stats.

I might move the stats page somewhere else... But not right this minute.

10 in the template, do i put this between the [head][/head] thingies or down at the bottom near the [/body] thingy where my sitemeter code is located?

11 It goes in the between the <Body> </Body> tags.

After looking at your site, I would suggest putting it right below your sitemeter. There is no image or anything so there won't be anything displayed in your sidebar; it will just add your visitor stats to the group totals.

Pixy: as part of your wonderful offer should the only rule to be part of Munu be to add the Munu roll to each blog? And perhaps this counter too. It's not much to ask and lends itself to a common bond, plus it boosts everyone's ecosystem rankings. Not that that's what we're all worried about...right?

15 Simon - Right. Every Munuvian should have the Munuvian blogroll on their blog. That way, every new Munuvian is instantly a Flappy Bird - and at this rate, an Adorable Rodent pretty darn soon.

The Munu Counter helps me work out the overall hits across Munu, which ties into the next stage of Project Mu.

Debbye - you should show up in the stats within four hours if you got it right.
