An Answer

First, you need to have Category Archiving enabled. You can find this in Weblog Config, on the Archiving page.

Then, add this in a suitable spot in your main template:

<div class="sidetitle">
Contents
</div>
<div class="side">
<MTCategories>
<a href="<$MTCategoryArchiveLink$>"><$MTCategoryLabel$></a><br>
</MTCategories>
</div>
And viola!
