Help?

Ok, folks--help me out here. I got two emails "returned" to me that

#1 I never sent
#2 were returned because they had an email worm.

To wit:

***********************
A virus (WORM_MIMAIL.R) was detected in the file (data.zip/data.doc
.exe). Action taken = remove
***********-***********

The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a
binary attachment.

and
***********************
The file (file.zip/file.doc
.pif) was infected with the WORM_MIMAIL.R computer virus. The following action
has been taken: remove.
***********-***********

The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary
attachment.

The attachment (file.zip) was infected with a virus and has been deleted.

Anybody know a "adam@ergon.com.au" or "bob@hpcl.co.in"? 'Cuz I sure don't...

1 There's a particularly nasty worm running around at the moment.

It's possible that it's sending you this while pretending to be a return.

Or that it bounced when sending itself to these people while pretending to be you.

You'll probably be seeing lots more of these in the next couple of days.

2 Yes, its a virus. Don't open it, and don't open the attachment.

3 I got three yesterday. I fearlessly opened all the attachments. And I am still Virus Free.

MAC OS X rules!

4 I opened them all and played with them. OS X rules!!

5 Cool. I have really got to get my hubby over to Munuviana. I'll say, "Look, honey! Tom and Stephen are Mac men! You'll have company."

I'm on a PC, still. But I run SUSE at home, and browse with Konquerer. Heh heh heh. However, here at work, our email support inbox is filling up with exactly the sort of "bounced" emails Susie mentioned.

It's that g*d*m*f* virus.

6 I have four Macs!

Also three Windows boxes, four Linux boxes, an SGI, a Sun, two Amigas and a couple of dead things that I'm not sure what they are.

7 I think you forgot the partridge in a pear tree...

8 I'm running on an old Atari Pong game console rigged up with a TI-99 keyboard, viewed with a 1972 black & white TV perched on the Honeywell Drum drive.

I suppose I should upgrade. I heard color is the big thing nowadays.

9 A drum drive is probably worth something to a collector.

10 Hey, I wish I had that small a problem. Our school network's been super-affected by the bloody virus. I get at least 20 virus-laden emails a day. Gets a bit annoying.
