Has Anyone Here Gone WordPress?
I've tossed around the idea of going to WordPress instead of the MT upgrade. Mostly I'd like to go to it because #1, you can password protect and #2, you can park a post at the top. Not that I have the inclination to do either of these very often, but you never know. If I have the capacity to do so, I might just feel a bit better about not sensoring myself as much.
Anyway, I know that our cpanel gives us the option. I'm just not sure how moving old posts & comments works, in addition to stylesheet. AND I'm not sure where to login once I do that. I might have more questions, but those come to mind first. So, has anyone done it????Posted by: Auterrific at 05:20 PM | Comments (8) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

I have ... and haved moved a couple of other blogs over as well. I'd check with Pixy though as it will put a bit more strain on the ole PHP and MySQL.
Migrating posts and comments is done by exporting from MT, and importing into wordpress using a script. Stylesheets you'll have to do by hand (or get some help).
If you need pointers on stylesheets and stuff then give me a shout

Wordpress is fine. You can install it with a couple of clicks using Fantastico.
The only problem is that it's not multi-blog (yet), so if we went Wordpress in a big way we'd have 170 separate installs of Wordpress to maintain, which would be yucky.
There's Wordpress MU, which is a multi-user version, but when I tried it a while back it wasn't ready for prime time.

So 'can' we try out wordpress if we install it in a separate directory? As I understand it, the Spam Karma 2 plugin has obliterated almost all trackback spam. Wouldn't that just ROCK?

I meant, can I try it? Not we.....I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to make work for anyone.
