This Week in History

Do you know what happened this week back in 1850, 158 years ago?

*California became a state.

*The State had no electricity.

*The State had no money.

*Almost everyone spoke Spanish.

*There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically, it was just like California today, except the women had real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

DAMMIT!

I want to post every day, I really do, but it seems that the mother board of the computer has contracted altzheimers and just can't keep up with the program.

Nothing more frustrating to be waiting for a page to come up...and wait ....and wait...... and then have "cannot find server" pop up like a smart ass in your face remark.

I would comment on some news of the day, but I can't reach any, so I'm reduced to this inane bitching. I watched part of the Republican debate the other night and was highly impressed with Fred's performance; especially when he slammed Huckabee...Huckabee just showed what an ignoramus he truly is;and the rest of the field just went through the same old same old BS we've come o expect from Politicos. I truly fear that the time to lock and load is drawing ever closer, and more inevitable than ever.

On a personal note, I found out yesterday that even the group that touts itself as buying houses in any condition wouldn't touch my hovel on any basis except an extremly low short sale, so it seems that I'm going to have to take the hit on my credit and try to go that route; it's marginally better than an outright foreclosure, but I have no choice. I simply can't afford to keep bleeding half my limited resources every month on a house that is uninhabitable. I would try to rehab the joint, but I think it would only be putting good money in a sink hole, and Beth still wouldn't want to live there anyway, even IF it was totally redone...women are funny that way. It would always be MamaMontez's house, no matter what was done to it. Oh well, shit happens, and I've rolled with the punches before, just gotta do so again, and I'm lucky just to have someone that truly cares for me like Beth does. It's a rare thing and I don't care about the rest as long as she's there to help me face whatever comes next.

To my shame, I took love like that for granted before; I won't make that same mistake again. Same with any of you that read here with any frequency; I truly am grateful for each and every one of you. I thank you from the bottom of my little black heart.

I'll be back the next time the computer behaves as it should, hopefully less maudelin and more on topic with whats going on in the bigger world.

REAL Football Fans

Four football fans - a Cowboys fan, an Eagles fan, a COLTS fan
and a Patriots fan - are climbing a mountain and arguing about who
loves his team more.

The Cowboys fan insists he is the most loyal. 'This is for the
Cowboys!' he yells, and jumps off the side of the mountain.

Not to be outdone, the Eagles fan shouts, 'This is for the
Eagles!' and throws himself off the mountain.

The COLTS fan is next to profess his love for his team. He
yells, 'This is for everyone!' and pushes the Patriot fan off the
mountain.

GO COLTS!

A Rant I wish was real...

Too Bad that old "Blood and Guts" ISN'T involved in the military today....this is probably pretty close to what he would say if he was alive today....

Here is a clear reiteration of the "Patton Doctrine"...too bad we don't have the guts in modern America to enact it....

JESUS SAVES ...

Got this one from my little Sis, and thought I'd pass it along:

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly Jesus was tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, Jesus said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job."

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.
They moused.
They faxed.
They e-mailed.
They e-mailed with attachments.
They downloaded.
They did spreadsheets!
They wrote reports.
They created labels and cards.
They created charts and graphs.
They did some genealogy reports
They did every job known to man.
Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than ever.
Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off..

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming: "It's gone! It's all GONE! "I lost everything when the power went out!"
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate.
"Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?"
God just shrugged and said,

"JESUS SAVES"

Chicago Hijinks

BlackFive has the skinny on an incident that occurred in the Windy City last week between a scumbag legal beagle and a United States Marine.

I hope that Sgt. McNulty pursues this to the bitter end and extracts every last drop of blood from the asshole Mr. Grodner.

Just the facts, Maa'm

If you're like me and are getting into arguments about gun control all the time, HERE is a handy resource to have the facts at your fingertips.

89 pages of gun FACTS that can help you counter any GFW's arguments (except, of course, their "fweelings") about the subject.

Estate Planning

Dan found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, so he decided he
needed a woman to enjoy it with. One evening he went to a singles bar where he spotted
the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away.

"I may look like just an ordinary man," he said as he walked up to her, "but in just a few
years, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars.

"Impressed, the woman went home with him and, three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at estate planning than men !!!

'What's the matter?' he asks.

'I have a case of anal glaucoma,' she says in a

A Different Christmas Poem

My sister sent me this today; I'd seen it before and (I think) posted it before, but we can't be reminded too often to whom we owe our way of life to, especially in this Christmas season.

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

'What are you doing?' I asked without fear,
'Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!'

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said 'Its really all right,

I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night.'

'It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,'
Then he sighed, 'That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers.'

My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..

Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.'
'So go back inside,' he said, 'harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right.'

'But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
'Give you money,' I asked, 'or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son.'

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
'Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.

For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.'

Celebs and the Pols they kiss up to

Pat Sajak tells it like it should truly be....most celebrities ARE truly uniquely UNqualified to be making any sort of political endorsement. They specalize in repeating what writers TELL them to say, just WHAT in that line of work should make their endorsment worth the breath they take? If anything, the WRITERS should be the ones to listen to, if you are sheeple minded..

Just a little test....

I've seen this a number of times before...heck, I've probably already posted it before, but the classics NEVER go out of style.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?
Here is a little test that will help you determine.

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes
around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah,
raises the knife and charges at you.

You are carrying a 40 caliber Glock and you are an expert shot. You
have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you
do?

---------------------------------------------

Think carefully, determine what you would do and then scroll
down to compare your answer against the test standards.

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of
his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does
this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to
wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away
while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day, and make this a
happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for
few days and try to come to a consensus.

---------------------------------------------

Republican's Answer:

BANG!

----------------------------------------------

Southerner's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG! Click

Daughter: 'Nice grouping Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver
Tips or Hollow Points?'

Son: "Can I shoot the next one!"

Wife: "You're not takin' that to the Taxidermist

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(hint: In MY world I wouldn't CARE what the wife said, it's MY trophy dammit, and I'll do what I wish with it!)

KKK (Kool Kolored Kids) strike again

Jason Whitlock says it like I would LIKE to, but can't, due to the fact that I'd just be blown off as "just another racist Honky".

I don't always agree with Mr. Whilock, but in this case, I think he's hit the nail square on the head.

Sean Taylor is being mourned as a victim, with any mention of his past labled as "racist" and "blaming the minority". The fact is that we all have to deal with the consequences of our past actions; the real tragedy here is that an innocent 18 month old baby is also having to face consequences as well. She didn't deserve to lose her father before she could really know him, and that is a tragedy that is repeated all too often in the Black community, to the great detriment of us all.
