Water from the kitchen sink doesn't go down the drain it comes out on the pantry floor under the secondary wash tub. I've used the Home Depot rooter on the outside overflow hit an obstruction but the rooter continued on. Inside the rooter when 2' then no mas.
I've redone the wash tub from the drain cap to the wall. There is a clean-out cover. Rooted through it and tub drain is working. Also the washer drain is working. Can't figure it out. May have to sell the house. I like having the "one wall different from the others" paint scheme. It is a nice accent.
I admit that the color I had chosen for my livingroom was too dark for the natural light, so I painted the walls with the windows that color, and the other walls got a shade two times lighter. I love Eu du Nil, but one has to have decent lighting or it makes one feel underwater Posted by: Kindltot at November 08, 2026 02:24 PM (rbvCR) 37

I had to patch a wall in the bedroom and I couldn't find the right color in my collection of samples. I cheaped out as a temporary measure and bought a half pint of "oops" paint from the paint store that was nearly right but brighter, and used that as a primer for the wall, and decided I liked the look.

PAINT MATCHING ... One option is to gently cut through the paper layer of your drywall with a craft knife -- in an inconspicuous area -- to remove a minimum 1-inch square sample ... Then, take this square sample to your paint store which should have a scanner to perform a very close match to your square sample ... Finally, use some spackling to patch the area you cut out, sand, and paint with your matched paint ... Keep in mind that, if the existing paint is very old or grimy, it will affect the scanner results.

Second hour mowing the leaves. One more hour to go. The front yard has a yellow lotus with tiny leaves. AI says they'll dry up and blow away but it's getting colder in my part of Canada and that doesn't happen. Easier to mow them. The front yard is ready for Christmas decorations which would usually be up a week ago in happier times.
Mulched leaves never come back. They're like dead enemies. The backyard and side still have a bunch of leaves but maybe in a couple of weeks I'll do a final pass. I looked it up on AI. Governments spend a fair amount just on getting rid of leaves. Posted by: Stateless - Ralphy - 106.5 years old! Puppy at heart! at November 08, 2026 02:27 PM (Sco7b) 41

As long as it's black. Posted by: H. Ford at November 08, 2026 02:13 PM (2Ez/1) Repainting cars was a common thing then, the paint was not as durable as the later formulations. Grandpa worked as a car salesman for a Ford dealership in the 20's, and part of the perks of the job was he could take a car home "for trying out" at times, especially if he had a date planned. He said he went to a party, and one of "the football players" (his term, it seemed important to him) got a belly full of prohibition period hooch, and then puked over the fender of his loaner Ford, and peeled the paint off of it. Grandpa had to pay to get it re-painted at the dealership shop Posted by: Kindltot at November 08, 2026 02:31 PM (rbvCR) 48
I don't rake leaves here, although the box elders and caragana shed plenty. Most of the yard is open space, and the wind carries them off. With today's Chinook, my leaves are probably close to Saskatchewan by now.

We just got back from watching - "Wild Horse Nine" Excellent movie. Great writing, directing, acting. Plenty of good laughs with some serious turns. Well worth watching. The interesting thing is that as the plot concerns two spy who've been responsible for revolutions and/or assassinations in various countries. This hits very differently than I think was intended by the folks who made it since- we here in the United States have just suffered our own color revolution here in the US along with several assassination attempts and successes. Their First World Problem is the message they wish to convey essessentially gets turned back on them by reality. Regardless, good entertaining flick! Check it out!
