Rough Week Cafe

Obligatory
or the remake, if you like

Jasper the Lab says it's time for bed, darnit!

Senior dog with the cutest crooked nose is rescued from living under a bridge and is happy and comfortable now.

A pack of wolves, surveilled with night vision cameras-- chased off by brave doggos.

Dog feels the need to do ninja-rolls to sneak up on a treat his owner dropped on the floor for him. It's possible the guy was so casual about dropping it the dog thought he did so by mistake, so thought that he would have be sneaky and crafty about eating it. Poor dog. Good life lesson: Make sure your dogs know when you're giving them a treat.

The cutest little B&E suspect.

I don't know if you guys are bored of these but I'm always up for a charging baby elephant. This one "roars" at the end.

Emaciated pittie abandoned in a plum box is rescued and is now fat as plum. To be honest, this chonky boy needs to exercise. But he's happy and healthy at any size.

Pet pigs purloin pumpkins.

A pair of twin dogs just showed up at a farm and took jobs as farm dogs.

Update on the blind old golden retriever who's so happy and proud to still retrieve the newspaper every day.

Baby kitten bullies a giant cane corso.

Woman buys a male sex doll and gets caught so she makes a video and pretends she bought it to be a surrogate to her dog who has separation anxiety.

Chocolate lab is the hardest worker in the house.

Frequently Asked Question: Was "Dobby the House Elf" in Harry Potter played by Jason Statham?

Well yes, of course he was. Duh.

You didn't know that? You're so silly.

I've watched the video three times, and she never says it's a male sex doll, nor that she bought it for herself.

I asked Mom, and she says the holodeck handles such issues now, but I'll have to wait to find out for myself.

It’s been a sad week. But.

It’s going to be ok. Reach out to someone and tell them they are appreciated. Do something nice for a naighbor. Smile at a kid. Throw rocks in the water.

I’m going to the range tomorrow with my #1 son and my range buddies.

Shooting will help.

24 Now Chloe has settled down on my futon. She's right next to my oldest cat Penny.

I don't pretend to understand it, but Chloe has only been here a few months now and she's already won over Penny.

They seem to be friends now. Both of them even sleep with me at night. Penny's been doing that for years, but for Chloe to do that in such a short time is amazing.

I love that little Bengal klutz.

Hard day today stewarding at the Cypress Creek KC show. Got to the ring at 7:55 this morning and left it at 4:30. Full slate of 175 dogs and I had to handle it all by myself. The judge was very complimentary about my work. It was by no means perfect, but I got everyone in the ring efficiently.

But Diana was Best of Breed today in her first show in a couple of years. Her Majesty had to handle her and Diana didn't turn in a disciplined effort, but she's showy and happy and that counts for a good deal.

34 I’ve been noting how upset by this many friends are, and I do sympathize with all of them. But as to myself, I keep thinking of a scene from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, a 2018 Coen Bros movie. In this scene (and it makes sense in the context of the film) James Franco plays a criminal who’s standing on the gallows with a rope around his neck, about to be hung. Another criminal, a younger man is to be hung with him, and he’s sniffling and crying a little.

Franco looks over at him, grins a bit and says “First time, eh?”

That’s pretty much how I’ve been feeling about it.

While extremely disappointed, I'm actually surprised how (relatively) unbothered I am. I was way more upset at the 2020 results, but it all worked out for the best, as Trump 2.0 has been MUCH better than a continuation of 1.0 would have been. We've survived (and ignored) Dem congresses before, and the Republicans in congress weren't doing much.

I'm a little more upset we lost so many state governors, as that will have more significant ramifications.

Still, the economy is actually doing well, Trump will keep deporting, and the Iran war has to wrap up before 2028, so I think we'll be in a good position for that election. Dems will infight, squabble, overreach and terrify the electorate, while Trump's seeds will hopefully be bearing fruit. We win the presidency in 2028, oversee the census...might do well.

Her Majesty, however, once she was done showing, stewarded for a judge who was snappish with her. HM is really excellent at her work, but whenever she told the judge about what was upcoming - problems should be anticipated in advance - she got sharply told it wasn't necessary.

60 So I've been saying since the DSA psy op appeared in June that things were going to get very weird. And that we were being set up with a phony war between the DNC and DSA.

Equally I have observed all year that we were being set up by the Left for needing a (previously scheduled) masculine manly man for president in 2028, and that it was over for women.

So, laugh at me and feel free to bookmark this or whatever, but at the moment I will say that it is looking to these eyes like we have been set up - for President El Sayed.
