Feisty badgers.

Dog is really earning this stick.

Baby hippo doesn't want to get out of the water. Until his mom tells him to.

Tigers are really good climbers. So there's no chance of escaping them. As with bears.

Expect traffic delays due to dam construction.

Ride the dragon.

Circus parrot.

An unhinged Democrat Constituent decided to attack a group of firefighters. This went as well as most of the plans of low-impulse-control, low-IQ individuals.

A longer video here.

Mountain goat shakes off, powers away from a mountain lion who's got it in his jaws.

10 I'm dog sitting again. Daughter #2's dog, an English Springer Spaniel. A wonderful dog, even if I have to vacuum twice a week now. Together we began to fight back after the midterms. I sat in the setting sun (mostly as it clouded up) and laughed at the stupidity of dem voters while enjoying a Cohiba cigar (review to follow for weasel) and Irish whisky. The dog barked at democrat squirrels.

35 Politics is not life. I have other things to worry about, like, interim custody of my grandson (next week), moving jackass son into the upstairs this weekend, dealing with all the drama and nonsense. Selling the damned condo once and for all, finishing moving all the stuff from upstairs to the downstairs, rehabbing DH's knee and attitude about it, planning Thanksgiving dinner for a dozen guests. Finally getting the hot tub installed, so I don't go completely batshit crazy.

Some of it is fun, some of it is just required.

None of it is politics. Sometimes the rest of the world can just fuck right off to fuck off mountain.

There's some paint that was used in the house and a few things in the attic, but for the most part, everything is gone. A table in the kitchen, a sofa in the living room. I was told that was OK by the agent.

We vacuumed and swept most of it.

Even left them some quality wood flooring planks if they choose to use them. They match the other wood flooring in the hall and middle room.

These ticket-splitting results such as in KS mentioned above baffle me (and I know state-level stuff can be funky and appear inconsistent). Unseat the incumbent senator/replace with someone who would chain themselves to his Senate desk to prevent *any* election integrity laws from passing - while also approving a citizenship requirement for voting. And this is a pattern across several states.

Remember hearing about the 2 FBI agents that just had their corruption and lying to Congress lawsuit dismissed by a DC magistrate the other day?

One of the things they were accused of covering up was an attempt by the CCP to flood the 2020 election with fake driver's licenses. A lot of people were called crazy conspiracy theorists about that plot.

Turns out they were right. The investigation was covered up and dropped by the FBI.

181 I'd been sitting here for a min pondering and I guess I'll just put it here since some people kinda need a booster...

America First didn't die tonight, America First told those who couldn't deliver to fuck off. America First is alive and well in this country, and the Electorate is savagely searching for people who can deliver that promise... whether it be on the left or on the right.

Sure, there will still a some of the old guard to weed out... but DJT definitely did ignite a fire in the voters and they are now looking for anyone who can deliver on that American First promise.

I think DJT in politics is exactly what Americans needed to remind themselves what it is exactly they are
voting for, leaders who can (not want) put America First. Thune and Trump forgot that, and Republicans paid the price.

DJT was probably one of the best things to happen to politics, he shook the political landscape in a way no politician could have. Now the younger voter base has to learn the lessons we already know. Hard core leftist will absolutely do anything it takes for power. And that Republicans are absolutely feckless and timid in governing.

Hope ya'll find some solace in that. o7

Abbott got virtually the same number of votes, there was no Republican depression over the war. Yet somehow this woman nobody outside of Texas has even heard of, and apparently some of you in Texas were barely aware of, became an rockstar on election day and crushed Beto's vote total when every media outlet in the country pushed that dope relentlessly.

204 Between 2022 and 2026, the Texas population grew by about 1,500,000 according to the internet.
2026
Hinojosa: 5,230,908
Abbott: 4,524,948
2022
O'Rourke: 3,553,656
Abbott: 4,435,558
2018
Valdez: 3,546,615
Abbott: 4,656,196
Make that make sense.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Trump talks big, but he simply will not fight the Dems as hard as they fight him. He still believes in the rule of law (HA) and the Constitution (double HA), while it is obvious the Dems will do anything to hobble, block or kill him.

Here's what I predict: the first time Trump vetoes a bill, a judge will rule he has no authority to do so. Or, at the very least, the GOP nickelfuckers will join with the Dems to override the veto.

I support a strong Texas economy, small businesses, individual freedoms, responsible spending, and policies that benefit everyday Texans. Texas is bigger than any political party, and our loyalty should be to the people and the future of this state, not to a color on a ballot. Blind loyalty doesn't build a stronger Texas. Accountability does.

My last word (I hope) on the debacle in Texas. If you voted for Democrats, you're a damn fool. If you didn't vote for Republicans, you're a damn fool.

I can't be more contemptuous of the people in this state than I am now. In a single evening, you destroyed your brand. Now you're Massholes with a southern accent.

237 And speaking of this, there's particularly worse news than the bad news above. At least one survey (which looks reasonable in terms of methodology) shows ICE/deportations as the top concern of Hispanics in TX switching R to D yesterday. "War" not even on the list.

Posted by: rhomboid at November 04, 2026 07:01 PM

Demographics is destiny. Deep red Texas is long gone. Taken over by Hispanics and Indians and Muslims, who now make up ~50% of the population and vote 90-95% in favor of Democrats.

And Republicans have no one but themselves to blame as they pushed for Hispanics and Indians and Muslims to invade this country, going back to the Bush 43 "Islam means peace" years, the 2006 Amnesty betrayal and lately over the past decade the push for Indians to take Americans' jobs.

Texas demographics:

40-41% Hispanic
37-39% White-only
13-14% Black
6-7% Asian alone (mostly Indians from India)

Median age is 36.
24% under 18, 14-15% 65+.
17-18% foreign-born.

243 Clyde those are interesting numbers but don't explain the massive shift from '24 to '26. Perhaps what I posted earlier, about Hispanics switching 30%+ back to D from R (Trump election) partially explains it. But the demo change you document didn't occur in the last 2 years. So it's both demographic and intra-GOP idiocy (Paxton vs. establishment) and the cry of anguish from those fed up with the lowest unemployment rate in decades, healthy econ growth, and greatly moderated inflation.

Would be good to look at how many H-1B visa workers were naturalized during that time. H-1B visa workers are not allowed to vote in elections. But there is a H-1B visa worker to citizen pipeline that has been happening in this country for decades now, shifting demographics dramatically.

Quick Grok inquiry reveals there is no data specifically for H-1B naturalization in Texas. But these are the naturalizations in general in Texas for 2022-2024:

FY2022: ~106,120
FY2023: ~100,290
FY2024: ~80,110

Average of ~95,000 per year.

So ~400,000 naturalizations from 2022-2025. And add in any that happened this year.

That's a lot of new votes, likely mostly for Democrats.

283 >>it's always the cheat...or AWFULs

In 2016 the Obama/Biden administration including the directors of the CIA and FBI along with numerous minions, the Obama DOJ and other assorted drones, cooked up a plot to run a coup on a duly elected president. Not hyperbole, fact. Even have a grand jury in FL currently hearing evidence about it. Brennan was just there a couple weeks ago.

In 2020 Joe frigging Biden got more votes than any president in history by sitting in his basement and mumbling that if you didn't vote for him you weren't black. We all literally watched him get a mathematically impossible number of "late votes" in a few state that tipped the election. And now we know the CCP was likely involved.

The Trump DOJ just sent out over 20 target letters to people who are believed to have been involved in rigging the Alaska election including Hillary's personal cheater Marc Elias.

Why would anyone discount Democrats cheating in an election at this point? These are corrupt people. We all know that. Rigging elections is something Democrats have been doing since Tammany Hall. It's who they are. It's at least worth looking into when the numbers do not make sense.

313 Would be good to look at how many H-1B visa workers were naturalized during that time.

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 04, 2026 09:13 PM (P5BPp)

If you take that entire 400,000 and tack it onto the 2022 Dem governor vote total in TX, Abbott still would have won in 2026 by more than 500,000 votes.

Lowest unemployment rate for who exactly?

Not the 18-29 demographic. Not those in the tech sector who are having all their jobs outsourced or taken by H-1B Indians.

I can say that I am employed right now as an engineer in the auto industry, but not the same way as I was in 2024.

In 2024, I Stellantis laid off 400 American engineers and replaced us with outsourced workers in third world countries (mostly India, some in Mexico, some Indians living in Canada). I got back in to my old job through a contract house. India-owned contract house at that, which mainly outsources work to India, places H-1B Visa Indians at Stellantis and then has a small number of us Americans placed back at Stellantis. Only reason I have that job back is my supervisor fought to get me and a handful of others back.

359 In March 2020, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) was 100% in-office American and Canadian workers at Chrysler Tech Center (CTC). Over the past 6 years since COVID, FCA/Stellantis is now 50% in-office and 50% outsourced to third-world countries. And of the 50% of employees at CTC, I would guess at least 50% of them are Indian, likely H-1B.

I lost my vacation time, my company holidays, my company profit sharing that I had worked 13 years to earn. Now make $13,000 less.

Paxton was courting Indians hard in his campaign. I don't blame anyone for being turned off/angered by that and voting accordingly.

No problem here, boss!

I asked my dude on a scale of 1 to 10 how concerned he is today. He said zero. I asked if he was worried he'd tell me, right? He claims he would.

Until I have to fight my way out of stuff I'll stay calm and wait here in my castle on the ridge. We sadly don't have a moat of gators.

I learned to stay calm as you think more clearly when a patient is dying right in front of you. No doctors run to a code, they are thinking.

With the flooding in FL I think our last home might have briefly had a moat this week. Man, 22" of rain in 18hrs made for some bad flooding there. I feel awful as most, like in Arizona, etc with their flooding, probably don't have flood insurance.

We always did in FL. Insured to the max to get something if our island house was wiped out to the slab by a hurricane. Supposedly if it hit "just right" off the Atlantic 1/4mi away, it could have happened as the ocean met the Intracoastal over our roof. We left our bunker if told. Run from water, shelter from wind.

Well, we drove caravans of precious stuff, but you get the picture.

369 Winning breeds chemistry. I will continue to insist that any "war" between the DNC and DSA is phony.

This is what the DNC wants. To lurch the country as far left as possible. Some individuals may get run over along the way but this is it. The op I have been going on about since June simply moved a *lot* faster than I feared.

I started to suspect as much when the entire party immediately openly embraced them all, about two weeks after saying they are so "scary" and "extreme". Only getting rid of a couple who were either not playing ball or were somehow embarrassing in the wrong ways. So here we are.

Waiting for the media messaging on all the Democrat "youth" and "energy" and how much young people simply long for communism. That should complete the picture.

375 Gorgeous tree, clever pug.

Is there a possibility that in the presidential election in '28, things swing back to the GOP in TX, and TX votes up ballot red again? I don't feel like that's a forgone conclusion TX is blue forever. There was war and economic malaise, midterm is a not huge voting time statistically, and the DNC got out the vote. That doesn't mean '28 is a goner. But again, I'm an optimist.

376 Why would anyone discount Democrats cheating in an election at this point? These are corrupt people. We all know that. Rigging elections is something Democrats have been doing since Tammany Hall. It's who they are. It's at least worth looking into when the numbers do not make sense.

Posted by: JackStraw at November 04, 2026 09:13 PM

I am inclined to believe that. The left has been cheating and stealing elections for who knows how long.

This is why it was so important that (1) there had to be consequences for the stolen 2020 election (arrests, prosecutions, prison time) and (2) the SAVE Act was passed.

Neither happened. So the left was emboldened to continue their actions and here we are.

Republicans have no one to blame but themselves. No one was held accountable for 2020 and the SAVE Act was not passed.

And now with demographics having shifted dramatically, it makes it that much easier for the left to steal elections.

As long as you don't sound like an old Suzanne Pleshette or Kathleen Turner, you're good.
Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at November 04, 2026 09:43 PM (2614e)

********
I don't sound like her but was once told by a patient (probably drugged) that I looked like Kathleen Turner.

I think it was my hair in the '90's. I was also told I looked like Jean Smart when Designing Women was a series. Again, a possibly drugged male patient.

One older man said I looked like Alice Faye, and this made me confused so I had to look her up years later. He was also probably drugged. Every week a new person I looked like.

This was when I worked every Saturday 3-11 so my dude could watch our boys and I could get out of the house and make a buck or two. Cardiac PCU. I then left for the newborn nursery.

I liked cardiac nursing, however, a prostitute with HIV tried to bite me one night and I decided to change departments to babies who can't bite.

Plus it was the happiest place in the med center for 7yrs and I quit asking for another baby boy.

Hollywood always gets this wrong, unless by chance the actor is actually from Texas.

Louisiana has about 4 accents, only one of which is close to a normal Southern accent.

Then there's the way they come up with some bastard hybrid of the Appalachian/Ozarks accent and the genuine Southern accent.

It's like a character with German accent and a French accent at the same time.

I dunno. Nobody does. This is America, where the truth is always locked in a Schrodinger's Box made of lies, at the heart of a hall of mirrors.

If Dildojora fucks up and goes full open border, it'll reinvigorate the lazy unmotivated dumbfucks that couldn't be bothered to show up last night to finally come vote.

But it will be during a mid-term election so results may vary. They'll probably burn their 'Voter Enthusiasm!(tm)" on the '28 Fed Election. Plus your usual GOPe vultures will be waiting in the wings seeing which way the wind is blowing at the time.

Look at the numbers. They are impossible not unlikely.

They make as much sense as, oh I don't know, Trump colluding with Russia to rig the 2016 election. I mean who would believe that idiocy?

Posted by: JackStraw at November 04, 2026 10:00 PM (viF8m)

391 >>> Oh but Texas let you down. How about cleaning up your on states

Not wrong. But if the left abolished the electoral college only 4 states matter ever again:
California
Texas
New York
Florida

If the Japanese import too many Muslims, and need to flee their country, we can always import them to TX. They loved them some TX during the World Cup!

Ok, enough politics. I'm so glad hubby made me watch hockey last night! Got some good winning euphoria juju from that at least. More hockey tonight and writing.

394 Paxton was courting Indians hard in his campaign. I don't blame anyone for being turned off/angered by that and voting accordingly.
Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 04, 2026 09:44 PM (P5BPp)

Compare Paxton's 2026 vote total with Cruz's 2018 vote total (another bad year for the GOP not involving a presidential contest):

Paxton 2026: 4,249,752 (lost by around 12 points)
Cruz 2018: 4,260,553 (won by about 2.5 points)

The include Cruz 2012 (a year no one thought Cruz did poorly)

Cruz 2012: 4,440,137 (won by almost 16 points)

Same basic vote totals. It doesn't really seem like there was a big sit out here by GOP voters this year. Our recent senate race totals for non-presidential election years have been pretty consistent for the last decade plus.

I don't discount it per se. But what looks like happened, in TX anyway, is that the GOP had a decent turnout and numbers for an off-year (non-presidential election) but the Dems were able to mobilize something far close to presidential election year turnout levels. My best guess.

Yep, doesn't look like a lack of GOP turnout. But record Democrat turnout.

Or very high Democrat turnout + cheating.

But, again, this is on the Republican Party. No one was held accountable for the stolen 2020 election and the SAVE Act was not passed.

This is the result. Massive Democrat victories across the country.

Republicans had 2 years to prevent this and didn't.

And this is the same as always for the Republican Party since I have been following politics (09/12/2001).

They either don't do anything on which they campaign or they actually act against the wishes of the base (Amnesty betrayal in 2006).

The past 25 years have been the Democrats using their time in power to move the country left, while the Republicans when in power do nothing but keep the new status quo.
