The choice the Dems made with AES over Stevens is an odd one.
They'd vote the same on everything that actually matters - in fact I was reading some Jewish left leaning forums where they explicit argued AES being an anti-semite didn't matter because he'd be one vote out of 100 but on most issues he's just another leftist. Ignoring electibility there are only two differences: 1) How you get to virtue signal and for your average lefty voting for an open jihadi is worth more points then another Karen. 2) Which groups get the graft. But this is a very, very small number of D voters Posted by: 18-1 at November 03, 2026 08:54 PM (sKqQm) 48

Posted by: Locarno at November 03, 2026 09:21 PM (GjI0V) ******* Important governor races will be lost tonight. We needed to win those so they can help Trump with his agenda. If Hinojosa wins in Texas she probably won't let Trump step foot in the state and will open the border. Not only that they will be devising plans on how to become like California. The cheating will be off the charts. Posted by: redridinghood at November 03, 2026 09:33 PM (wzaBj) 312
And, at this point, we're going to have to give up the idea that vote fraud is the only reason we keep losing in GA.
It just does not make sense that Trump won in 2024 to have this result, fraud does not explain it. --- It explains part of it, probably a significant part. The other part of the explanation isn't something that anyone wants me to post. Posted by: Crusader at November 03, 2026 09:33 PM (Cjcf6) 313

Being in California I didn't have much hope for the Congressional or State races, though I voted the straight R on all of the ones where there was an R to vote for. For the propositions, the only one I care about deeply is the billionaires tax. Not that I could be mistaken for a billionaire but buried in the fine print was a provision allowing the legislature to lower the threshold as they saw fit.
So suddenly the billionaire tax becomes an everybody tax..... - Luxury. In Illinois, we had a ballot initiative for a *millionaire*'s tax, which I voted against, but I'm not even going to bother looking up how it went. Did you want him to seal the border and deport illegals including criminals? Did you want him to end USAID and NGOs? Do you think the left around the world wouldn't strike back? Hopefully, Hustad (R) in Ohio can squeak out the win. He's closed the gap to 1.35% with 70% of the vote counted.
I'm worried about Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska right now. I hope that those rather large margins that the Evil party has right now evaporate. Posted by: Sasquatch, the Original Trans-Wookie at November 03, 2026 10:01 PM (QXsxd) 506

It would be funny if all the major networks wishcast and call Texas as blue, the rural counties save the day and vote red and keep it red. And then the major networks accuse the right of election fraud in TX.

I read they called Texas for talarico
Dear God please tell me that is not true Posted by: Gonzotx There are still lots of rural votes to count, but Talarico has won around 65%-68% of the vote (75% counted) in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. Unless cows and oil rigs are voting that is an uphill margin to overcome. 490 >>But tell me: was it worth it?
Worth what? Obama lost a huge number of House and Senate members not to mention state races around the country during his term. Was that worth it to push leftist policies around the country? Or does it only matter when it happens to Republicans? This happens ever frigging midterm. The party out of power wins. Yea, what Trump has done in the last 2 years was absolutely worth it. Posted by: JackStraw at November 03, 2026 09:58 PM (viF8m) Specifically: the war with Iran - was it worth the loss of the House and likely the Senate? Obama's policies are still with us. Trump's progress on the border won't survive till the end of his own Presidency. Can we lay the blame entirely on the war with Iran? The math is pretty straightforward, Iran war leads to gas prices up 30% leads to electoral smashing. I mean sure the Republican Senate did not give Republican voters to come out and fight for them. The Republican House hasn't even been in session for a couple of months. Posted by: blaster - Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat at November 03, 2026 10:04 PM (NlEaG) 521

448 Texas...ugh. Talarico is taking Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio bigly: about 68% with 75% counted. Those rural counties have their work cut out for them.

Posted by: Alteria Pilgram - My president has convictions at November 03, 2026 10:02 PM This is from NBCNews website: About the Remaining Vote Ken Paxton would need to win 61.1% of the remaining vote to catch or overtake James Talarico, who leads. They are showing 55% counted and Talarico leads by about 1.1 million votes. They are estimating 4.657 million votes left to count. Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 03, 2026 10:08 PM (P5BPp) 528
”Fairly certain the Senate did confirm some Trump nominees, which is an important function.
Posted by: My Ridiculously Circuitous Plan at November 03, 2026 09:39 PM (jIGh3)" Senate has been abysmal about backing judges and us attorneys. We don't need "some" appointments, we need ALL the appointments. When this all spirals into a dumpster fire of balkanesque boodshed - and it will - some of the GOP's share of blame will fall on Trump trying to preserve the idea of a republic that stopped existing decades ago and failing to sufficiently crack down on vote fraud, but most of it will be the GOP being useless backstabbing twats as usual. At least Trump tried, though. I have never expected him to succeed and have been saying the republic is obviously done since 2016. A GOP sweep today would not have changed that opinion. He has done signifigantly better running the WH this time around, but it is deck chairs on the titanic. Re: Iran, PDT trusted the pentagon way too much and got suckered. Most of those shitbags lacked the intent, or the capability, or BOTH, to fight competently. I am straight up embarrassed to have been part of my branch.
