The Morning Report — 11/3 /26

VETOED.jpg

Good morning kids. And so today is Election Day. As we have been discussing for at least the past couple of weeks if not longer, the direction if not the ultimate fate of whatever remnants of America as founded that still remain is at stake. I know that the phrase "the most important election of our lives" is trotted out every two to four years, but perhaps it's my no longer being a kid as well as facing some critical medical issues that has done more to focus my mind on things than otherwise might've been the case, but given the state of the world, our nation, history and who and what we are dealing with makes the stakes pretty obvious regardless of what your own personal situation might be.

Well the events/stories leading up to today has meant things going on elsewhere have taken a backseat. One such story that has particular cromulence for today's results is a potential coup d'etat going on in Poland.

. . . France – along with many of its neighbors – faces the specter of a species of revolution that may end up replacing Western freedoms with some hideous hodgepodge of Communism and sharia law. In Warsaw, too, this past weekend, people began taking to the streets in large numbers. But the Polish crisis could not be hardly different from the one afflicting Western Europe. In Paris and elsewhere, governments that have slavishly followed the EU’s globalist-minded directives instead of attending to the needs of their own people are paying the price for it. In Warsaw, on Friday, a group of five judges who had been appointed by parliament but not yet sworn in by the president, Karol Nawrocki, occupied the building of the Constitutional Tribunal, whereupon one of them, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, illegitimately and peremptorily removed the court’s president and deputy leader, appointed herself to take their place, and ordered the court building surrounded by police.

Let's see, "replacing Western freedoms with some hideous hodgepodge of Communism and sharia law" Now doesn't that have a familiar ring to it right here at home, especially today. Meanwhile he may not be in Warsaw, but depending on how things shake out there, he might not make it back. Not alive anyway.

Polish member of the European Parliament warned Americans against voting for Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections, arguing that socialism could threaten their freedoms and lead the country down a similar path Poland experienced under communist rule. Dominik Tarczynski delivered the warning during an appearance on Fox News’ Saturday in America as he discussed political unrest in Europe and the dangers of socialism.
“Socialism is death, slavery, lack of any freedoms. Please don’t do it. Don’t go through 70 years of occupation like Poland did,” Tarczynski warned.

Preach it brother! But they're that is they'll be wielding the whips having us build a White Sea Canal back to the 12th Century!

It took the human race thousands of years of suffering under tyranny and slavery to arrive at the Age of Enlightenment, 1685–1815, during which the absolute powers of spiritual despots and monarchs were overthrown in favor of the construction of constitutions of common law and declarations of human rights, including the rights to one’s own thought, faith, and expression; the rights of property; and the right to pursue personal happiness through freedom of enterprise. The citizens became the sovereign, and the government became the servant. These societal compacts of law wrought an unprecedented change in human fortunes toward individual liberty and societal harmony. The era gave birth to an explosion of artistic expression, scientific discovery, and industrial invention, culminating in most of the benefits we enjoy in our modern age

I recently came across a news item that made me reflect on our strange political environment —always a painful experience.
Bernie Sanders, the ancient socialist senator from Vermont, delivered a tirade against artificial intelligence, claiming that it had provided the tools for unscrupulous hackers to break into unauthorized bank accounts.
Even as he railed about an “evisceration of our privacy rights,” Sanders introduced legislation to “ban artificial superintelligence and temporarily pause advanced AI development.”
. . . Progressives want to pause data centers today because they killed off nuclear power decades ago — a chain of causation that can lead, quite literally, to the dark ages.
The best illustration of the horror of change and lack of forward-thinking by this sect can be found in their favorite means of transportation: trains and bicycles.
I mean, these are 19th-century technologies: the first steam-powered locomotive made its appearance in 1804 while the bicycle was invented in 1817.

Nevertheless, progressives spend enormous amounts of taxpayers’ money to promote these comfy old machines.

The socialist mayor of Paris, France, spent hundreds of millions of euros and destroyed her perfect city to install bike lanes. . . The socialist craves a return to the communal womb — to a society as unchanging and dogmatic as anything experienced by our medieval ancestors.

The dream is of Utopia, but what you get is Cuba, a place where the population is too hungry and too cowed to worry much about data centers.

That, in brief, is my complaint and concern about progressive conservatism of the Bernie Sanders kind. . . But by confusing their hopes with reality, progressives have tumbled into a fallacy and seem determined to drag us there with them.

Like Goethe’s Faust, they believe they can “pause” society in a perfect moment of universal harmony and sustainable prosperity.
That way lies damnation.Human societies are dynamic, complex systems, assembled through a historic process of trial and error and always adapting to changed conditions.
They can’t be paused, any more than one can pause a Cat 5 hurricane — but they can be made maladaptive, contradictory, and ultimately self-destructive.We are no exception.

Although this is quite a good piece, the author attributes way too much altruism on the evil Commies when all they want to do is exert absolute, total and permanent control on society, period, end of story,

And on that note, I invite you to peruse the Politics and associated links to try and read the tea leaves.

And of course GET OUT AND VOTE, LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW because depending on the outcome, there might not be one, at least not the one we had wished for, or more accurately worked our asses off and sweated bullets for... and in some cases like Ashli Babbit and Charlie Kirk as well as some of our ancestors who survived socialism in th third world and Nazi occupied Europe, took bullets for.

On that note, as always I nevertheless bid you all to have a good day,

and say a prayer for our sacred nation and society that we carry on regardless of today's outcome, and that Leftism and Islam one day soon are returned to the fiery pit from which they slithered.

6 Morning all! Just waiting for the polls to open. In fact, gonna do my morning walk, then go sit in the parking lot.

Then maybe make sure I have groceries for a week.

Job-wise, got a screening call later this morning, otherwise I'm just waiting to hear back and continuing the job search.

45 Here is one paragraph of What I saw:

One person stood out in the line, in a black suit with a black Trump hat, and a cell phone with
an external power pack.
He was a Romanian member of their Parliament. His mission was to contact the 1.4 million
Rumanian-Americans to get them to vote for Trump. He had spent 2 months traveling all
over the US. On Election Day, he will be near Mar-a-Lago.
Thanks to Whig and other
commenters, I could knowledgeably discuss recent Polish and French events, and the
specific Rumanian shenanigans. His take was Trump is ensuring the continuation of
Western Civilization, and is the last barrier to barbarism. “The US is the hope of the world.”

"They call it weighting their poll. I call it a Magic 8 Ball," he added.

Yep. They know their polling is flawed, but it's not stopping them from declaring a Blue Tsunami.

It reminds me of 2016 when Hillary was 98% certain to win, because the polls said so.

It was only ten years ago. Remember the faces of the expert pundits as the reality slowly set in.

Both parties are changing, and Noonan misses why.

The Ds evicted White Non-College from their party years ago, even though they outnumber White College by two to one. They're now Trump's base and with their support he's won the White House thrice. Trump has been expanding his base with many Hispanics and some Blacks. It's becoming a Populist Party slightly right "north by northwest."

Meanwhile, the Ds have a shaky minority coalition but with hands on many of the levers of government and business.

The Ds are already fracturing over DSA. "It's the People's Front of Judea."

We no longer have "Election Season."

That was an Obama era thing.

Now we have "Election Year," running from Q3 of odd-numbered years to Q3 of even-numbered years.

The absurd pageant of fake democracy has become a grueling civic ritual stage-managed by the deep state and donor class, and it consumes fully half the waking lives of people who live in this empire.

It's lame AF.

In Imperial Rome, as the actual Senate and People of Rome lost more and more relevance, they at least promulgated more and more State holidays to keep people entertained and distracted.

We just get this intensely aggravating farce, and then a year of respite before the next, ever more repititious episode.

171 The blame game started already today, with Investors Business Daily ignoring as much good accomplishments and knifing Trump:

But then the wheels started coming off. Instead of focusing on wringing inflation out of the economy, Trump launched an erratic, unfocused, divisive trade war that opened him up to the charge — rightly so — of raising prices instead of cutting them.

The attacks on Iran, as justified as they were to prevent that terrorist nation from acquiring a nuclear weapon, could have stopped with the bombing of its underground facilities, with the promise of more if they tried to reconstruct it. The wider campaign, which we support but which he never fully justified to the public, jacked up the cost of both gasoline and food — the two things where prices are the most obvious to consumers.

Trump closed the border while restarting wall construction, which were massive victories. But the deportation campaign has been a needless PR disaster.

And Trump’s fixations on the White House ballroom, the Kennedy Center, and various other D.C. projects only served to paint him as vainly focused on the wrong priorities.

173 It's likely that every candidate I vote for today will lose with the possible exception of one town councilman. Very popular guy running as an Independent for one of the council slots. Local realtor, guy was the sellers agent when I bought my house and he was very helpful and went out of his way to introduce to local trades when I got here. Also volunteers to do things like run the annual Independence Day fireworks, beach cleanups, etc.. I will lose everything else.

Doesn't matter. I am still voting like I always do. If nothing else it will let the winners know at least some of us don't support them.

Its interesting when charting money pissed away to elect candidate X compare to candidate X's legislative effectiveness, those lines go in opposite directions.

If you look at the aggregate of things done in the House or Senate SoS (Session over previous Session), they accomplish less and less and the functioning of the nation relies more and more on EO and bureaucratic cruise-control or the Regulatory Branch of government.

The assertation of the Esteemed Hawaiian Judge's complete and total rule over any matter, has disrupted this picture even more.

There are a whole lot more voters in this country who contribute nothing to our society, than nonvoters who contribute nothing to it.

And never lose sight of the fact that, voter or nonvoter, nobody's opinion matters to the people counting those slips of paper.

317 Months back, I asked Grok about the correlation between midterms prez approval and party losses.

The biggest thing you have to keep in mind is, there's not a lot of data; less than 20 marginally useful points.
Second, the biggest losses came after wave elections, where weak candidates were swept in 2 years before.

the biggest losses came when the prez had under 40 approval and the other party had over 10+ on the generic.

So, 100% of the Dems prediction of a blue tsunami are:
- Trump is deeply, widely unpopular
- Trump lost 40 seats in 2018

However, Trump is now over 40% and the only proof he is unpopular is ... polls. It shows up nowhere else.

2018 is not predictive, it's an outlier where over 50 Rs resigned, many of them senior members, where the entire GOPe was openly embracing the Russia hoax.
But I see the online left are taking 2018 as a baseline--and all their polls flow from that.

2018 happened because Dem numbers increased by...a weird amount.

Trump had the best retention numbers from his party for a midterm for a president in...a very long time. It was like 80% of the vote from the presidential GOP showed up for the GOP in the midterm.

Obama got about 60% in both of his midterms from Democrats.

In 2018, Democrats just increased...more. It was either highly animated base turnout (possible) or...well, 2020 happened 2 years later.

No it isn't. The Kennedy Center has been used by the Dems as their private Church for decades, siphoning off public money to put on increasingly degenerate, commie shows. A playground of grift, with no-show jobs, deferred maintenance, and the usual DC black incompetence. Trump wants to clean it up and make it something to be proud of. Here’s the official synopsis: “Slam Frank imagines what happens when a progressive theater company asks themselves that same question, transforming Anne Frank’s tragic true story into an intersectional, multi-ethnic, genderqueer, decolonized, anti-capitalist, hyper-empowering Afro-Latin hip-hop musical.” The description goes on to call the work “a satirical reckoning about identity, tribalism, and art that left audiences reeling.

406 392 My hope is 2026 is 2022 but backwards.

In 2022 everyone was 10000% sure gop would win the senate. All the polls said so. Betting markets said so “Experts” said so. And they ended up
Losing a seat.

========

Contentious senate elections drive up turnout in the states that have them. The electorates end up closely reflecting PVI of the state.

Which makes it pretty much impossible, outside of the rare incumbent like Manchin in 2018, for the wrong party to win a senate race in a state that the right party president won by 10 or more.

It has happened once this century (Tester in 2006, an awful GOP year). The idea that the GOP loses the senate requires at least 4 of these to happen this year. At the same time.

Waves crash unevenly. The are highest in favorable enclaves and lowest in unfavorable enclaves. They're muted, at best, in contentious senate states.

Give first lady my voter registration card - doesn't even look at it, just wants my name, address, birthdate to look up on her screen. Prints out the ballot claim ticket, rips it, so needs a supervisor to get a new one printed up. Finally handed to me, where I see it's my son's name (his middle name is my first). No, I didn't vote for him - got it straightened out. But right there - my voter reg. card with my full name and address was RIGHT THERE in her posession. And I ended up with the chance to vote twice. But no, we can't have Voter ID here. Red down the board, for what it's worth. Carroll County is still a bit of a red oasis here, but expecting for the worst today overall.

483 473 I hope this isn’t considered sacrilege, but Atlas Shrugged is a pile of steaming shit. I’ve read many a bad book in my day but I couldn’t get to the end of that one… just bad. I’ll never understand how it acquired its stellar reputation. The fact that Paul Ryan loved it… that alone should ruin it’s reputation…

========

She writes villains really well, and her speeches are readable from a polemic point of view.

But, Rand is best when she's being satirized badly like in Bioshock.

Andrew Ryan is more fucking badass than John Galt.

486 What's with all the interest in this plane crash? While crashes aren't routine, neither are they unknown. But to listen to the coverage, you'd think it was the Apocalypse.

Everyone one X turns into an aviation expert within 3 hours of a plane crash.

No, the blame is on the 55 year old white male pilot. He made the catstrophic error. Was he overconfident? Did he miss it? Was he took concerned with getting to the Bahamas on time vs taking the time around? Who knows.

But he underestimated weather...kinda like Kobe Bryant's pilot...

Yeah, 48 hour rule is in effect. The NTSB is REALLY good at what they do. Eventually, there will be an 'Air Disasters' show about it.

It's going to take months for their report, so I'll just stop talking about it, especially since I am asking questions that irk some, and wait for their report.

Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at November 03, 2026 09:29 AM (ccf/V)

488 That is one thing the NTSB has not talked about, how fast did that thunderstorm cell form. But if it was already near flight level 35 they should have visually sighted the anvil head and steered around.

Has anyone reported how much fuel was loaded in Austin for the plane?

DataRepublican let her analytical mind go when looking at early voting over the last few weeks.

There was no conclusion to come to other than Democrat front loading, or cannibalizing, in red states. They just didn't have enough voters left to do anything once election day started.

492 "he Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported, citing sources close to the mediation team, that the US approved the draft memorandum of understanding presented by the Qatari delegation to Iran yesterday. It was reported that the mediation team updated Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates regarding the memorandum of understanding, which received their approval, and that the US and Tehran made concessions regarding the Iranian nuclear issue and frozen assets."

we made concessions??? why ??! we are the winning side !

493 The real money is in entitlements fraud. Cut that out, and we can lower taxes.

Not so fast. There is a sizeable (~10%-15%) of the demographic who have no marketable skills, cannot be profitably trained, nor have the intelligence or physical ability to perform work.

They are too retarded to be trained, to feral to be around others, too irresponsible to be trusted in any capacity, or physically incapable of providing for themselves.

Society has no plan for these people, so we permit NGOs to discover proxies through fraud. Society just needs to optimize the fraud so that the retards aren't receiving G-Wagon levels of sustenance.

At the Rally, I had to say "No Pictures." But there was a stunning blond, with a dress showing off Bulg worthy assets, behind me. She must have used double-sided tape to get the rounded protrusions on the cleavage side.

She was healthy. All the guys noticed, and the married ones stayed silent, except for the eye rolling.

I deliberately avoid keeping up on whatever the crowd finds to be particularly titillating since it is 100% disposable Tier IV opinions-as-facts "information".

Yet, did this pilot underwrite her training by leveraging OF?

That is the only thing that would make sense.
