1 But someone discovered a bug in the hardware that lets anyone with a consumer card basically crash it so that the register is cleared.

Brilliant.

Mornin' Pixy, morning' Horde.

6 @3/m: Thanks. My circadian rhythm is stuck on DST for a while, so I'm getting up at (or before) 04:00 instead of 05:00.

I'm trying to adjust but so far, no joy.

The closed-caption lyrics have the lyric "so virgin" for "so urgent." Haha!

But it hides, comes back then hides. A hit on comment block sends me to its website.

11 That looks like it must have been miserable for Foreigner, being crammed onto that little tiny raised stage.

21 @19/Biden's Dog:

Yeah, Pixy covered that yesterday:

Sam Altmanette says it is "quite terrible" that the peasants have bread when he can make far better use of it in his breadcenters. (Tom's Hardware)

"Let them eat no cake", Altmanette added.

I had cake for breakfast. Vanilla pound cake.

23 Foreigner - Urgent (1981)

None of the lyrics other than the song title seem to stick with you at all. To me.

You're not shy, you get around
You wanna fly, don't want your feet on the ground
You stay up, you won't come down
You wanna live, you wanna move to the sound

Posted by: m at November 02, 2026 04:34 AM (odBC9)

24 Am I early?

Well, I know I am -- for me -- so: Evening and morning, all! 'Tis Monday, I know, but remember:

"Compared to being on the wrong side of the ground, even a bad Monday is pretty small kumquats, nicht wahr?"

G & R, I must be stuck there too, despite getting about the usual amount of sleep on Sat. night. I was sitting dozing over my book at 8:15 last night; went to bed at 8:45. Woke up at 3:15, so no extra zzz's. I don't recall having this kind of of problem last year, when I'd been retired since April.

Well, it just means I can go work out a little earlier today. 72 F., humidity and wind are both up, but conditions are pretty good.

27 @25/Wolfus: Yeah, that's about what I'm trying to do - convince myself to do something useful with the extra time. What am I doing? Watching "The Fat Electrician" videos, the earlier 3 minute ones in his history.

Informative? Yes.
Funny? Absolutely.
Useful? Uh, let me get back to you on that.

28 MeTV's overnight schedule on Sunday-into-Monday is different from the rest of the week. Mission: Impossible runs at 2 am, Harry O at 3. I miss the days when they ran 77 Sunset Strip, though.

30 A cool front is supposed to come through here on Election Night, giving us rain on Wed. and then cooler temps (like, 77 high/60 low) for the rest of the week. That's still about 20 degrees too high. It's *November*, fer gossake.

31 My second coffee has been downed. Time to change, stretch, and hit the trail -- maybe just 1.5 miles today. If it really does get cooler Thurs., I can go longer.

34 BTW, if Binance is the cause of the loss of $3 billion by clients, they are insolvent. There is no amount of money that will cover the losses. Not understanding crypto, and I think the thefts can be "rolled back", but after paying for forensics and damages, Binance cant possibly survive.
