64 'Mesquite' is filed in my brain adjacent to 'mess kit'.
Like the WWII surplus mess kits that consisted of two halves, one that could serve as a frying pan and the other that was a divided plate. The handle of the pan folded over into the groove in the plate to clamp it closed. Inside were utensils: knife, fork, spoon. We used those on many a Boy Scout backpacking trip.

Painted during Tsuruoka's time as an inmate at the Poston incarceration camp during World War II, where gnarled, barren mesquite trees were a recurring subject in his work reflecting the isolation and landscape of the desert camp.

See Scholten Japanese Art,
Kakunen Tsuruoka, 1892-1977
untitled (vertical mesquite)
watercolor on paper, signed at lower right, Kakunen Tsuruoka, ca. 1944))

During his forced confinement at the Poston Incarceration Camp (specifically Camp III) in Arizona during World War II, Tokutaro "Kakunen" Tsuruoka’s artistic style underwent a drastic, profound shift. (Densho Encyclopedia)

Before the war, he was known for creating decorative, vibrant bird-and-flower paintings (kacho-ga) & picturesque California landscapes for art collectors. However, his camp watercolors discarded commercial appeal to capture the raw solitude, bleakness, and haunting beauty of the Arizona desert. (AZ Memory Project)

March 1943, Tsuruoka designed and curated the "Mojave Room" inside an empty barrack at Poston III. The installation featured 16 of his original paintings lining the walls.

An important lesson

107 Democrats spent the entire campaign talking about affordability, groceries and the cost of living. It took them less than an hour after winning Congress to drop every word of it and show the country what the campaign was actually about.

The new agenda is already being said out loud. Arrest the political opponents. Seize Elon Musk's factories. Nationalize SpaceX. The mask did not slip over weeks or months. It came off before the victory parties even ended.

Anyone paying attention could have seen this coming. The affordability language was the wrapper, and the wrapper was never the product. The product is power, and power aimed at everyone who stood in the way.

America now gets to watch the real Democrat Party govern with both chambers. The country will remember who warned them and who sold them the story.

This something we've been reporting on extensively, that if Democrats took control of Congress, Caravans would be heading toward the US. Per DHS sources we've spoken to, and whom we trust, 12 caravans totalling over 12,000 people are en route to the US southern border. I doubt it. A country so clueless that it can't remember back 18 months (when gas prices had declined rapidly), and of course seems to have no understanding of why or how anything works, cannot be expected to "learn".

Every day I am more amazed that the US even survived, much less developed into the greatest country in history, given how ignorant, selfish, and stupid such a large % of the populace is.

🚨 EL-SAYED REFUSES TO BACK SCHUMER FOR SENATE MAJORITY LEADER

Michigan Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed declined to endorse Chuck Schumer for Democratic Senate leader, despite Schumer’s support for his campaign.

“I do believe we need new leadership and I think people are hungry for it,” El-Sayed declared.

The outspoken Israel critic signals growing divisions within the Democratic Party over its leadership and direction.

I think he's simply going public with telling Schumer (and other Majority Leader candidates) that his (Abdul's) vote for Majority Leader must be purchased. The final price will be determined behind closed doors. For example, Abdul wants to be assigned to choice Senate committees. Foreign Affairs, Defense, Budget, and one or two others. Abdul will not stand quietly if he's assigned to the Agriculture Committee and the like.

>>And the shift to blue in EVERY COUNTY in 21 states (1799 counties)? Yeah that seems real.

Political realignments happen.

People forget but the Democrats are the natural governing party of the US, they had a nearly 60 year run of both the house and Senate, only broken when the country realigned politically allowing the Republicans to take control of both the house and senate in 1995.

The GOP has largely been in charge of the house and Senate for the last 24 years and we've largely gotten wars and debt out of that.

So, the country may be aligning back to it's Democrat default.

Unfortunately.
