Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump Fires Three-Star General for Leaking to Press, Lying In Three Failed Polygraph TestsAlexandra Ingersoll Beege Wellborne saysthis comes after a story leaked to Steve Jobs' Widow's Vanity Magazine The Atlantic, claiming that Pete Hegseth is incompetent. Fox News: War Secretary Pete Hegseth fired one of the Pentagon's senior strategic planners amid an investigation into allegations he leaked classified information to journalists about the Iran war, Russia's war in Ukraine and other sensitive matters, a Department of War official told Fox News. The official said Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia failed three polygraph examinations related to alleged disclosures of classified information. The investigation has been referred to the Justice Department. Sylvia is also accused of meeting journalists outside the Pentagon with the alleged intention of leaking classified material after Hegseth imposed new media restrictions requiring reporters to be escorted inside the building. Fox News Digital has reached out to Sylvia for comment but did not hear back at time of publication. The Justice Department declined to comment specifically on Sylvia but said it has "ongoing investigations related to possible leaks of classified information" and works closely with the Department of War. Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said the personnel action followed "an extensive Air Force OSI investigation," though he did not identify Sylvia by name in his statement or provide further details about the investigation. Parnell issued a pointed warning to those suspected of leaking classified information: "Our commitment was not an empty promise. We vowed to find you, and we meant it." ... Due to the Pentagon's media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information. =================== Amazing how that works. Hmmm, I missed the last thread on daycare fraud. Maybe this one will be highlighted tomorrow when JD comes to town.
------------------------ For months, DFL candidate Abdi Daisane has been busy running for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives. On paper, his St. Cloud daycare has been pretty busy, too. Blooming Kids Child Care Center was first opened in 2018. The facility is licensed to serve up to 113 children and is scheduled for a license renewal in December. According to records from the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee, Blooming Kids Child Care Center has received just over $7.29 million in Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) payments since 2018. CCAP is a state-run program that subsidizes child care for low-income families. The program is one of several programs at the center of Minnesota’s ongoing fraud scandals. Alpha News recently spoke with a former employee of a neighboring business of Blooming Kids Child Care Center. The worker told Alpha News, “I do not recall ever seeing children entering or leaving the facility.” Posted by: beckster at October 29, 2026 06:43 PM (kX27y) 70

>>>I don't know what you mean...she was always willing to get down on her knees to get the job done. Coordinating the mayoral staff of Willie Brown took time and effort.
Posted by: jim (in Kalifornia) --- I think she was trained for this as a child, so much so that it's a natural reflexive response. There is no thought to it, there is no effort. Posted by: Braenyard - some Absent Friends are more equal than others _ at October 29, 2026 07:13 PM (Pee1E) 181
They'd reuse the big bottles, and if you could still read the paper label, they'd just leave it on. If you needed a new label, they'd just slap it on over the old ones. Getting a bottle with three stacked labels was common. More than once I have been in the presence of someone who was chugging Co'Cola from its iconic glass bottle and discovered the cigarette filter and fag end tobacky droppings from its previous user, who used it for a makeshift ashtray. Didn't the Germans found Yuengling?
Posted by: jim (in Kalifornia) German immigrants who came to this country in the 19th Century. Unlike the current bunch of immigrants (mostly), they became part of the nation instead of apart of it. Yuengling is a fine beer. It's not the best but for the price, it's pretty good. Posted by: Puddleglum, cheer up for the worst is yet to come at October 29, 2026 07:15 PM (sAmhv) 186

172 >>Is what Sylvia did considered treason??? Serious question.
Kind of interesting that the DOJ is investigating Sylvia not the Pentagon. Posted by: JackStraw ========= Espionage Act investigation is my guess. They are going after the rest of the pool and scuttlebutt on X is that includes Ms. Jennifer Griffin of Faux News. Some of the information included in leaks involved active operations in Iran which kicks it up a notch in seriousness. Iran is an enemy of the US now in open combat. Thus, death penalty for Espionage Act violations in War Time could apply. Summary from Brave AI "Criminal Penalties: Violations can result in heavy fines and imprisonment, with sentences ranging up to 20 years for obstructing military operations or causing insubordination, and the death penalty for conveying information to the enemy during wartime. " Posted by: whig at October 29, 2026 07:16 PM (E4rtv) 188
I haven't researched but supposedly the last diesel refinery in the U.S. was built 50 years ago. I imagine the Vallero refinery explosion and fire several months ago has domestic diesel supply constrained. The price of oil is not terribly high but gas and especially diesel prices are high enough to be hurting the economy.
