Democrats and their co conspirators know that undermining the judicial system is key to gaining a maintaining power. Forever. Look at every corrupt country, and most in Latin America that have escaped the communist left. In almost every case they corrupted the judiciary.
The judiciary is the weak link in our republic. I do t know how many times those alleged and under oath pledging to protect it will watch the judiciary destroy it without any attempt to intervene. There is a point at which people sense it is slipping away and take matters into their own hands. That’s just history. Posted by: Vengeance at October 29, 2026 01:19 PM (0cp4g) 26

>>>Honestly asking, but what exactly do you do here? They are trying to prosecute, but unless we change who lives in DC, seems a hard problem to solve.
I literally just said: People are allowed to ask for changes of venues if the local juries can be shown to be overly prejudiced against the defenders. Trials for notorious murderers are routinely held a few counties away from the scenes of the crimes for this reason. What I am proposing is a rule that recognizes, in cases involving political figures, that having a jury pool that is 58% or more tilted to one party counts as "overly prejudiced" and removal to a more balanced venue is authorized. Even if you're pulling from a deep blue jurisdiction, the odds are you'll get at least some jurors who aren't blue or who at least will vote fairly. I think what is really going on is juror manipulation so that only the most viciously partisan blue-fuck fuckers get seated on these GJs. You could make a rule just for D.C., which after all is unique, that either the defense or the prosecution can have proceedings removed to the jurisdiction of the defendant's residence. This cannot possibly violate their right to a jury of their peers, even for Democrats that might prefer a jury of rabid partisans.

Amendment VI In all criminal prosecutions, . . ., by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, . . . --- This was put into the Bill of Rights due to the British taking Americans beyond the colonies to either Halifax for trial or even to London to prevent pro Americans in the colonies from being able to acquit on the jury. Easiest way by statute is to abolish DC or restrict it just to the Mall and Capitol so that most crimes by bureaucrats, etc. would be tried elsewhere. Cede the rest of it to Maryland. Frankly I prefer Congress to be distributed back to their home states or at least the House. But an easy fix for Congress on committee hearings with witnesses that tell Democrat lies is to hold the committee meetings out of DC. Well within the rules and has been done on occasion already. Having committee fact finding committees meeting outside the Beltway is a lot more 'inclusive' than having the same tired interest group reps spout off canned talking points. I literally just said: People are allowed to ask for changes of venues if the local juries can be shown to be overly prejudiced against the defenders. Trials for notorious murderers are routinely held a few counties away from the scenes of the crimes for this reason.

What does it say about not being able to assemble an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed?
Posted by: Sponge ------ Bill of Rights gives defendants the power to challenge venue, not government. The real problem is that the Democrats have been allowed to create a rotten borough in DC of judges. The response of the GOP should be create a bunch of new judges and pack the court there. Or create a National Court of Appeals dealing with conflicts between the circuits or to do cert. Abolishing DC as a federal district and returning the land to Maryland would be another option--no more Dem ran DC Circuit and no potential to create a new Democrat state with two senators. Fedgov already gave back the Virginia portion of DC in the 1840's. Posted by: whig at October 29, 2026 02:08 PM (E4rtv) 184

178 @163 wasn't Citizens United a big deal due to the dicta? As I recall that's where Scalia caused the left to go nuts
Posted by: Smell the Glove Yep. I think Scotus blew that one myself. And that is because Buckley v. Valeo which Citizens United did not overrule, is bad law equating money with speech. So Buckley created this wonky balancing test that allowed money given to politicians was protected by the 1st Amendment but yet could be regulated because it had the option to corrupt. That meant that wealthy individuals could spend all they wanted (or borrow to be paid by after winning) but others were bound to campaign limits on contributions. The justification is that wealthy individuals could not be corrupted by contributing to themselves and thus their First Amendment rights to speech would be quelled. The Police had more number 1 hits than The Cars. Posted by: Thomas Bender at October 29, 2026 02:10 PM (XV/Pl) The Police had a more reggae/ska sound and The Cars were more of a Punk-Pop act, in my view. The Police were more popular in the early to mid-80s for sure, but The Cars for their first few albums were popular, too. If you turned on the radio in the mid-80s for several hours you were just as likely to hear The Cars as The Police. Posted by: SpeakingOf at October 29, 2026 02:16 PM (6ydKt) 199
MAGA was the last, best hope for a genuine grassroots political movement to form a third party and break the grip of these DC bastards on the rest of us. But, the clock has run on out on MAGA. It has nowhere to go from here. Now, this kind of thing is what we're going to get as long as we're in this ridiculous federation. It's DC's plaything and we're stuck with it. 350 million people at the mercy of a handful of buttfucking Communist elites. So I've moved on to the obvious next (last) play: secessionism. Given that I want to carry through an unconstitutional State usurpation of federal power, I think that NPV compact is the template. Set an arbitrary number of States - I think 13 is a good number, as a nod to our amazing forebears. Once 13 States pass it, it triggers. In the meantime, while waiting for the laggards, signatories focus their resources on maximizing the size and power of their National Guards, and reforming infrastructure in preparation for border closure. By the time it happens, the federal government will be in deep shit without *any* material preparation on the part of the rebellious States, but that's no excuse for sitting around. Mea culpa, had to go out for an appointment.
Trump had actively blocked her from joining the team in Palm Beach but she remained for nine additional weeks on GSA's WH transition payrolls working in VA. Later, U.S. taxpayers funded Cassidy Hutchinson’s private security detail for approximately six months, spanning from immediately after her public testimony in late June 2022 until the House January 6th Committee officially disbanded at the end of December 2022. She's quite the connection for the aray of investigations & punishments. Posted by: L - No nic... at October 29, 2026 03:16 PM (NFX2v) 201

From above, "A grand jury rejected the DOJ's attempt to indict former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson for the account she gave lawmakers of President Trump's actions during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol..."
Which account? Vice Chair Liz Cheney was her primary institutional champion. Critics argue that Cheney used the committee's official congressional budget to insulate and shield Hutchinson, creating a protective environment where her late-stage, uncorroborated "recollections" could be safely added into the record without immediate pushback from other White House staff. In the end, proving Hutchinson deliberately fabricated her testimony, rather than just misremembering secondhand details, carried too high a legal burden for an indictment, so they say.
