The Saturday Morning Coffee Break & Prayer Revival

download

Good morning boys and girls and everything in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Denton.)

1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate. Don't forget to say a prayer or three.
2) Be kind, be nice. Vote early and vote often.
3) Running with sharp objects is really not a good idea.
4) Have a great weekend!!!

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

9/18 – Random Dave posted an update to his job progress. He is still looking for FT work, but has accepted a substitute teacher position (more flexibility for interviews, some income to slow the bleeding). He asks for prayers that the interview results he is waiting on will get back to him soon, especially if one is the “right job”. If any are “not the right job”, they would fall away soon and get back to him, and that if all of them are “not the right job”, the ‘right job” would show itself aggressively, so he doesn’t miss it! He also thanks the Horde and the folks at church for their prayers and support.
8/14 Update – Random Dave needs continued prayers for his job situation, that God would guide him to the right one soon, and also for prayers for M’s grandmother, who fell the other day and tore a ligament.
10/22 Update – M’s grandmother is healing well. She is mostly mobile now (on crutches), and occasionally has bouts of bad pain. They praise God for the healing and humbly request additional healing. Random Dave reports no real change on his job situation. He continues to pray for God to make the path known as he applies, and periodically deal with “good” interviews that end up going nowhere.

9/18 – Brother Tim posted that he has been overnight in his car more than indoors. He is convinced that his retirement/resignation was a severe error, a result of fatigue and depression. He asks for prayers.
10/17 – Bother Tim posted that he has been in the hospital for 3 weeks.

10/10 – Just Some Guy asked for prayers for his former work colleague, who had a heart attack and stroke.

10/10 – Mile, okravangelist, requested prayers for Mama Publius, for grace and fortitude, and that she passes in her sleep. Mama Publius is in home hospice care.
10/24 Update – Mama Publius passed away this past week.

10/14 – NR Pax requested prayers for a friend, whose husband died on 10/10 after a long illness.

10/17 – Pooky’s Girl posted that she is in the hospital, because Wee Pooky is threatening to come early at 30 weeks.
10/24 Update – Pooky’s Girl’s contractions have been stopped. She is at 31 weeks along, so every week that Wee Pooky stays put is less time in the NICU.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her. Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks or so unless we receive an update.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

Goodbye Horde, I am stepping away from the blog. I have volunteered to fill in if needed but this is goodbye to the Coffee Thread & The ONT. Everything is fine. It's just time to walk away. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making the Prayer Thread the most uplifting Thread anywhere on the web. Be well my friends.

I've been yammering on about that for a while. I have a feeling it's not going to happen unless "unconventional" means are used.

Likely involving the use of lead, at high velocities.

But it most certainly will not be resolved through political means such as "voting." Because the judiciary here is squarely on the left's side.

There you have it.
The correction is not more cartoon togetherness or compromise or prayerful turning of the opposition’s hearts.

There are two sides in that conflict, as there are in most any. The two sides can never live peacefully without agreement on national direction, just as America cannot remain peaceful under multiple ideologies.

Look carefully at domestic separation and see the philosophical cleaving patterned after ancient emotional (female) human failings of spite, envy, jealousy, and rage among others. Is California any different? Is New York?

The US is so far distanced from our origins of freedom and liberty, and independent thinking, that we are propped up on toothpicks.

see, here's the problem

we've complained for years about the polls being skewed / manipulated to favor the left / suppress the right (demographic sampling / misleading questions / etc.)

it would be far easier for a campaign to manipulate the "predictions markets": throw some monies on your candidate to win, then say "look at the betting! the people are speaking with their wallets!"

I would think that, for a small fraction of a campaign's media budget, they could make a significant swing in the prediction markets

and these days, people are looking more towards the prediction markets, and dismissing the polls

83 it would be far easier for a campaign to manipulate the "predictions markets"...and these days, people are looking more towards the prediction markets, and dismissing the polls

The Prediction Markets, as you said, have more unearned credibility because stupid people think that there is skin in the game, whereas pollsters can flat out lie since none of their claims can be verified. We just have to trust that they took a poll, that the poll was honest, that a high integrity sample was taken, that the results were honestly tabulated, interpreted and reported. Lots of links in that chain that can/will be corrupted in a Low Trust Society.

In Deuteronomy, its built right in: "You shall appoint judges and officers... and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement"

So when the fear of the LORD is absent you get:

"Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts" - Isaiah 1:23

In fact, Isaiah 1:21-24 reads like the US since its founding is a recapitulation of Zion- a common understanding among the Founders as the New World was a recapitulation of Hebrews leaving Egypt.

Will there be a temporal recapitulation of vv 25-31?

Everything is corrupt about this ballot, including the fourth candidate, Heinkes, a Republican, who was also drafted by the DSCC’s operative to run. The Peltola campaign forced the actual fourth candidate from the primary, a D, to drop out, so their other R spoiler could also muddy the water. Total corruption and a full-blown conspiracy.

Collectivism is an inversion of Christianity. Collectivists profess a concern for the poor, but Collectivism requires the commission of the sins of Pride, Envy, Wrath and Theft. Unconditional Love (i.e, agape') has no place in their worldview. Being materialists, they view humans as "things" to be used and discarded as necessary in the pursuit of Utopia. Instead, the path to Utopia turns to a path to Hell-on-Earth.

My thinking is that at this point (post-primaries)

it's now all about numbers and leverage points.

In legislation, even the most putrid Republican is okay to vote for because, if the numbers game is won by Democrats, they will actively govern to harm you, your children, your grandchildren and the country.

Outside of legislation, a Democrat win gives them a position to foist insane Democrat damage to your community as we've seen with Soros' DAs and Police Chiefs.

So, I just vote R, assuming that we can clean up the filthy tards like Ol' Corny in the primaries.

Here in Texas they banned porn sites and hemp products. I guess that's a good thing but lowering property taxes might have gained more votes. Priorities. Idiots.
Good luck Mis Hum.

Regarding IQ tests and statistics, the Hrothgar Index (yet to be proven wrong) is that basically every other person you have to deal with is below average!

The only places where the above HI does not apply are any AoS MoMe where the inverse will be found to be true!

Chemo has been halted due to side effects and the oncologist will review before moving forward. We may do it every other week. Four sessions down, eight to go. Not sure what the path is but prayers are appreciated.
