High-Speed Train Crash Kills At Least 68 People In Spain

I'm pretty sure that Rome, as it crumbled, experienced many accidents such as this.

Dying nations like dying people experience a lot of injuries before they pass.

Kangmin Lee
@kangminlee

10m

Absolutely horrifying footage coming out of Spain.

A Rente high-speed train carrying 397 passengers rear-ended a stationary Iryo train carrying 147, with the death toll currently at 64 and rising and injuring dozens more among the 544 passengers aboard.

This tragedy marks the second major crash on the corridor this year, following a January collision at Adamuz that killed 46.

Accidents like this are easily preventable and utterly unacceptable in the first world. What is going on in Spain? Pray for the victims and their families.

You know who's to blame?

Foreign accounts already know who arranged this collision: Jews.

And the terrorist propaganda network Reuters tries to link the collision -- which occurred under a Socialist PM who's not spending enough on maintenance so that he can give freebies to nomads -- on "far right" groups.

Far right groups who think the government in power is responsible for what happens under its maladministration. What racist crazies.

Look at them, "clashing" with police even during this tragedy! The left would never exploit a tragedy like this for political purposes.

NBC "News" similarly can't believe the "far right" would politicize a tragedy like this!

It's unseemly! It fails to seem! It's completely lacking in seem!

Protests erupt in Spain after train crash kills dozens

Far-right demonstrators clashed with police outside the country's transport ministry where they had gathered to call for the prime minister's resignation.

Spain began three days of mourning Thursday after at least 69 people were killed and dozens more injured in the country's deadliest train crash in decades. But anger is mounting about the alleged incompetence that allowed the accident to happen and protesters clashed with police overnight outside the country's transport ministry.

Once considered one of the country's crowning achievements, Spain's high-speed rail network had not endured a deadly crash since it came into service over 30 years ago.

After the second train accident in less than a year, the tragedy has deepened the feeling among many that there is something broken in Spanish society. The crash follows weeks of protests.

Oh right, I forgot, Spain as endured three weeks of violent rioting, looting, and arson at the hands of the Islamocommunists, but now "far right" groups protest in a perfectly appropriate place -- outside the offices of a government official credibly accused of deadly incompetence -- and all of a sudden protesting is Treason.

11 "Three days of mourning" just contributes to the farce. A people capable of three days of sincere *morning* would be capable of running a government where events like this don't occur.

I'm not suggesting mistakes never get made. I'm just saying that "three days of mourning" is practically the chef's kiss to not taking something seriously. There will stuffed animals and candles and drawings on the sidewalks...and nothing of significance will change.

Put an tracker on each train, and sensors every 100 meters or so, and let software stop the train if it thinks there's a chance of a collision. It isn't like the trains aren't on a known route. JUST IN: California’s High-Speed Rail to Nowhere Chief Abruptly Resigns Amid Questions About Multi-Billion Dollar Boondoggle

Ian Choudri, the CEO of California’s high-speed rail to nowhere abruptly resigned late Wednesday night amid questions about the multi-billion-dollar boondoggle.

Originally greenlit by the voters with the promise of linking Los Angeles to San Francisco in a modern, efficient bullet train system for a mere $33 billion with a completion date set for four years ago, the project has ballooned to an eyewatering $128 bilion to $130 billion, with no clear completion date in sight, according to abc30.

Ian Choudri, who came on board in summer 2024, claimed last year that the high speed train might be finished in twenty years. That would be the year 2045.

IF...the next governor of California, regardless of party, wanted any of us normies to ever take California seriously again, they could do one simple thing upon taking office: simply announce that the high-speed-rail experiment was over and no more money would be allocated to it.

The last words many will hear will be "Allahu Akbar", as the terrorists try to obtain their 64 virgin (goats). Unfortunately USA has also incentivized thousands of such crazy Islamic terrorists, as even "clever" Ilhan revealed in her terrorist song.

88 From what I'm reading, there was a sensor/control system failure over a 60 km length of the line. The system automatically stopped all trains on the dead stretch.

But, operators in Madrid, overrode that automatic system and restarted the state-owned train and sent on down at full speed. The other train was still sitting there stopped.

Why the hell they did that, there is no clue. Mistakes were made.

Instead of driving the 2.5 hour down 99 Highway to get to Bakersfield, in my own damn truck?

No. I think the freaks will continue to be freaks and all of the money spent on Freak0's campaign will have ended up in all of the right pockets and those pulling the strings will move quickly to pretend none of that campaign ever really took place.

95 Importing a bunch of foreigners with "Inshallah" as their reaction to every close call or actual accident, rather than taking competence seriously is bad for first world transportation and industry. Coupling that with communism 'I should get a big piece of the pie because I need it, never mind that I have developed zero skills to make myself valuable as an employee'. It is a wonder that Europe is not experiencing a lot more of these tragic accidents.

To read/watch the MSM is to be misinformed. Not to read it means one is uninformed. Easier on digestive system to simply be uninformed. X has better and faster coverage than the dying fake and gay media with its endless dog and pony narrative crap.

Even in Europe, which is why the Eurotrash hates Elon, X is now the trusted source for news worldwide rather than the old decaying standards of the MSM. And smart bloggers and substackers recognize that and use links with summaries of their stories on X so you can go more into detail.

108 Sorry to not post this until now, I saw the mentions of students expelled for Charlie Kirk stuff in a previous thread...

I checked on updates for the "kirkiversary cake" story from the University of Utah (not the school Charlie was murdered at), about the horrible girl that marched up to the college republicans table on the one year anniversary of his death, with a "happy kirkiversary" cake.

It will surprise no one, since this is a very liberal school, that the only students that went through disciplinary measures was the college republicans. Because they posted video of it and it went viral.

Luckily it sounds like the school dismissed all allegations against them. But they could have been expelled. I think public pressure forced the school to halt going any further.

Also, one of the college republican kids present at the cake incident had previously been threatened. Someone has told them at a previous event they were going to "Kirk them." So IMO they have every right to expose anyone promoting violence.

The girl that baked the cake is apparently the daughter of a tech bigwig, and is going into medicine for kids. I wouldn't want her anywhere near kids of mine.

112 As a Spaniard I am beyond infuriated because it didn't use to be like this. We used to get refunds if it was so much as 5 minutes late.
Now we're lucky if the train even shows up, doesn't get stranded in the middle of the railways, doesn't catch fire, and we survive, all while paying through the wazoo for the privilege.

For some reason Spain has a unusual amount of very bad train crash fatalities, look up incidents between 2000 till now. It's unnerving.

Human error, underpaid and overexerted workers, no one complaining when one is fired and their work has to be done by the rest.

Kind of amazing that this happened today when there was already a strike called for tomorrow because of safety issues.

There is simply too many people visiting Spain and too little money invested on renovating aging infrastructures. Either we tax tourists more to pay for it or set a maximum number of tourists so there is less deterioration (and less chances for a disaster to happen).

On the face of it, it seems that the privatization of trains still is a flawed idea. what we saved on budget cuts we are now paying in lives
