I know I have weird theories and some of them are more humorous than others but here's one for you.
The Brits have had this "Five a Day" campaign about their servings of fruits and vegetables, forever. They all know it. I guess it's as common knowledge as, like, "I'm lovin it". So... I think the campaign is priming them for the REAL five a day (Mecca), which... is not as good for you. Posted by: ... at October 27, 2026 01:28 PM (y49sE) 50

NEW: Respect Orders are now live across England and Wales
People who cause harassment, alarm or distress to others can receive bans from town centres, anger management courses or unlimited fines Anyone who breaches an Order can be arrested and jailed for up to 2 years Posted by: weft cut-loop --- This just illustrates the innate fascist character that European governments have long had. Fascism is a model cooperation with the government, and it's aspirations. Because it requires government self-control, it's only uncoercive as long as it extends toleration. Europeans have enjoyed non-coercive fascist form of government. It's just that now it wants to make the decision of coercion and punishment. There have never been a barrier it had to cross. It just had to make the decision to clamp down on disagreement. The DSA would bring that form of government to America. Of course, they are going to promise goodies. 69 Moving the B-1 out of RAF Fairford had a bigger impact on US-UK relations that most realize. It was a demonstration that the US has lost confidence in the UK as an ally. This kind of action is where the action is louder because it wasn't accompanied by rhetoric.
The UK failed in ensuring basic security for an ally's military asset. They have been demoted to a status of trust equal to the Afghan Army. --- We can't even come to terms with the failure that "sexual equality" has been. When it's all about establishing female prominence through law, based on the idea that the existing order is some "patriarchy" which keeps males in charge. The law can't know everything that happened exactly. Including to mete out punishments. So the consistency of an account is how it ascertains a probability of happening. The law-backed female tendency to say "We should be allowed our irrationality" is saying "Ignore the parts of my case that don't makes sense, and punish the other party". Thus, if the "days of irrationality" case for Lucy Craig gains any traction in a forum of law, it says that the standard of proof is not "preponderance of evidence" it's evidence + excuses which might be the case outside what a court traditionally considers evidentiary. When this case fails, as it should, it will witness to "The Patriarchy" for people who already have their bias. So, Dems are not relying on really bad readings of early voting in states that don't have partisan voter registration. So, they look at the partisan flags in the data in OH and TX and say, "There are more Ds than Rs voting" even though the partisan flag is just which party primary they last voted in. That's not a great measure of overall party makeup of the general election electorate. Yes, early voting analysis can be bad. Democrats are really bad at it. I really liked Donovan. The Beatles did as well. He was their hippie flower child prototype.
Posted by: Pudinhead at October 27, 2026 02:19 PM (Wp1X1) I read a story a few years ago, that Lennon really wanted to learn this peculiar way that Donovan played the guitar for some song he was working on. Apparently, Lennon had a terrible time learning it, even though they practiced a lot. Anyway, at some point, McCartney wandered over, took a look at how Donovan was playing and picked it up instantly. Then, went off to write a song using it. IIRC, that song was "Blackbird". Musical genius versus musical competent, I guess. Posted by: naturalfake at October 27, 2026 02:31 PM (YSUhf) 255

Travis picking. Lennon did quite well with it in Julia and Dear Prudence. Posted by: stu-mick-o-sucks at October 27, 2026 02:33 PM (w9Wax) Processing 0.05, elapsed 0.0477 seconds. |
