Top-Ranking Virginia State Senator Arrested by Feds for Trafficking Marijuana, Money Laundering, and, Get This, Fraud

Louise Lucas has been charged with allegedly having a leading role in a criminal enterprise that traffics marijuana and launders the proceeds, according to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday. The indictment charges Lucas and six other defendants, including several of her relatives, the Justice Department said in a statement. The 82-year-old lawmaker has surrendered to authorities, a Justice Department spokesperson told the Associated Press. Authorities in May searched Lucas' hometown office and a cannabis shop in which she had a stake. ...
They allegedly orchestrated a scheme over years to enrich their own criminal marijuana enterprise, and Lucas used her position as chairwoman of the state's "Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee to insulate the enterprise from criminal scrutiny and influence legislation to financially benefit group membvers, according to Patel.
The feds also arrested seven of her criminal family members.
Virginia State Sen. Louise Lucas and various family members are in federal custody today, up on charges of racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to launder money, conspiracy to commit audit services fraud, and maintaining a drug-involved premises. ... FBI Director Kash Patel said at a press conference today, "As alleged by the Attorney General, Ms. Lucas, for the last nearly five years, accumulated nearly $5 million in ill-gotten gains through her criminal enterprise." I knew the guy who basiclaly started the whole "legalize weed" movement in California. He was up-front about it:
His goal was to make cigarettes illegal, and to thne make pot legal, simply to "rub the conservatives' faces in it" because "tobacco is right-wing" and "marijuana is left-wing." That's it. They just want to "shock the squares" and reverse all cultural norms simply as a juvenile act of rebellion.
Also, he and everyone else involved in the movement was a pot-head. They just want to get high. There is no consistency, rationality, or logic behind it, other than the desire to become intoxicated.

So, Dolley and I are watching all of Survivor (she's watched it since it started, and I've sort of gotten into it because there are often attractive women in bikinis and I can barely pay attention to it while playing video games at the same time), and we're at peak woke era, Season 42.
Two black people get voted off in a row. The remaining two black women have a struggle session about how racism is everywhere, the one Chad (Jonathan), actually pushes back, "You're calling me racist," which instantly deflates the whole thing and gets the chicks to end up saying "racism is in the air," effectively.

The latest defendant has been convicted in Minnesota's sprawling Somali-linked Feeding Our Future fraud scheme.
Muna Wais Fidhin, 45, was found guilty of using $1 million of taxpayer dollars meant to feed hungry children to pay off her personal expenses on Wednesday, Fox 9 reported.
She was the 75th person to be charged by the US Attorney's Office in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme last year, the largest COVID fraud case in the country.
Feeding Our Future was a nonprofit led by convicted fraudster Aimee Bock that stole $250 million in federal funds from the Federal Child Nutrition Program by using other companies, such as Fidhin's, to launder the money.
Federal prosecutors said Fidhin enrolled her company, M5 Cafe, which was located inside a hospital, in the Federal Child Nutrition Program under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future in 2020.

🚨 IT GETS WORSE: Federal prosecutors say the Louise Lucas enterprise didn't stop at marijuana.
According to the U.S. Attorney's office in the Eastern District of Virginia, agents recovered both illegal narcotics AND firearms when they searched properties tied to the operation.

when i was in high school, i worked for an accounting firm, doing data entry. on a couple of occasions, they drove me out to their main office in salt lick city. once, the accountant doing the driving passed someone on a double yellow (on a narrow bridge, no less). i gave him a look. he said "it's only illegal if you get caught", which i thought was a heck of an attitude for an accountant to have.

Watch Amazing Race episodes in India. The contestants are always thrilled to go, as they are with any new location. But after a few days, you can tell they hate it. Polls have been getting so bad for so long, it'll fall on deaf ears.
The point of the polling is money.
It gets Talarico to raise $60 million for a race he was never going to win. It gets Schumer to throw $1.2 million at the Mississippi senate race over bullshit. It gets people donating all over the place in the hope of winning races that have no chance.
And, it manipulates the betting markets. Shifting the odds towards one side by dozens of points. Buy on the opposite side (like Baris did int he Massie primary when he said Massie was winning in his poll but he bet on Massie losing, he admitted it on his podcast like it was a joke) for pennies on the dollar and make bank afterwards.
The polling industry is now just financial fraud.

Grew up seeing pictures of floods in 1937 in Cincinnati OH, more that 25 feet over flood stage. A couple of players rowed a small boat over the left field wall of the baseball stadium and reached home plate.
There's more flood control now than then, but I saw the creek behind our house fill up its gorge and flood the elementary school fields and go over the road heading out of the neighborhood.

Despite the reapportioned districts, our expectation given these results is that the Democrats will gain at least 30 seats in the House. They also have a shot at winning at least six Senate seats and flipping control in a full wave.
This assumes Democrats win in Texas, Ohio, Maine, Iowa, Alaska and Kansas. And hold on to seats in Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, and Minnesota.

Yes, its complicated. But not even Pritzker can do anything of note outside of Chicago. If they show up to burn down any other place the county sherriffs will start arresting and shooting before they know what happened.
They've got no juice outside of a handful of big large metropolitan areas that under blue rule. They go anywhere else, locals will deal with them. Very strongly. There won't be immediate bail, and there won't be help from local politicians.
It's a threat, with no real bite, because the people it harms aren't on our side, so frankly I don't give a damn. And when Mayor Johnson refuses Trump's help to stop the rioting in Chicago - Trump just lets it burn, and watches Pritzker's political hopes go up in flames with them.
