Giorgia Meloni's government is set to approve a series of measures Tuesday, including the deployment of 500 troops in Milan, after a weekend of riots in the northern Italian city. The Italian prime minister is convening a Cabinet meeting Tuesday afternoon to respond to unrest in Milan and other major cities amid youth-led anti-government protests. Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani told Italian media deploying soldiers "with police powers" would be among the measures his government would take. Police in Milan arrested around 270 people over the weekend, most of them minors, after authorized youth protests turned into violence and looting -- echoing riots in neighboring France. The government is also considering a range of measures to extend policing powers. People who have not committed any crimes but are seen as a potential risk could be held in preventive detention for up to 24 hours -- a provision that may include minors. It's not about shifting major segments of the population in terms of something like voting. It's not about convincing people of details.
It's about the left ceding all detail completely which allows for just the smallest bit of detail (Craig snorting ketamine off a passed out guy's dick) to the point where one piece of information can emotionally shift softer partisans against the ideologues screaming about rape.

So average folks sort of absorb bits and pieces of whatever current op is going on but are too busy with their own lives to spend a lot of time on it nor even really affecting voting behavior. And the bits and pieces are often disjointed like the Cornell woman was a slut but the guys were bad too by taking advantage of the slut. So not really feminist, not really for the frat guys.
Riots in Paris would have similar disjointed impressions based on casual scrolling of their social media feed or worse, the people watching tv. And almost like magic, in a time of uncertainty, most individual fall back to some pseudo middle ground--well, they are students but are doing bad things yet if they are not getting enough money then French state is at fault.

And it's not just the generalized mayhem that's being rolled back. All crime in the city has cratered. There's a lot of work left to do in Memphis, but the troops made a huge difference, very fast, and with almost no bloodshed.
I hope people who live there take note of how easy this was for a small group of men who weren't on gang payrolls to achieve, and work on clearing out their PD.

Title IX was passed into law in 1972.
It took til 2006 and the Duke rape case to bring it to the forefront of news of college rape accusations.
I remember because I had two sons in universities and a couple of years prior read stories of boys being expelled for false rape charges. Their stories not heard by the Title IX committees on campus. Consensual texts of sex (often by the girl to the boy for sex) were not recognized to support the boy's stories.
The mere fact of underage drinking doomed these boys to be expelled and register as sex deviants. All because of a girl's vengeance of seeking sex without a relationship. I do hope, after thousands of $ and a return to court, they got their lives back.
Using Title IX for revenge is the crowning point of a woman scorned in universities...along with true rape.

While I was waiting for an hour in line to vote, there was this gray-haired lady (not in line) holding a sign asking Republicans to think hard about trans rights before voting. A NY accent, so a transplant (sic). She loudly lamented "What happened to the Republican Party? They used to be reasonable, with politicians like Nelson Rockefeller and Jacob Javits (blah blah blah)". The line was mostly Dem retirees, and they all clucked and nodded in agreement.
