21 Malinois for the Win!

Daisy was chasing balls today when one of them got too close to the nearby deer. She couldn't resist "herding" them a little bit, but she came back without leaving the yard after them. She's become a very good dog, and getting better all the time.

One fawn, about Daisy's size, seemed to be watching Daisy chasing the ball. Possibly wanted to join in the fun.

Watching the video of the Malinois leaping fences was very familiar. Daisy sails over the wall with the greatest of ease.

As I told her this morning, I'm so glad she chose us.

Is the plural of Malinois Malinoises?

23 For those who missed my morning job update...
the job that had such a great interview a couple of weeks ago got cancelled. Dangit.

Next week I start subbing. I plan to sub 2-3 days a week and leave the other days open for interviews, extended time on the job boards, etc. I've got some part time temp work in my field that is slowly getting organized for me to eventually do, and hopes for something longer-term to come through sooner rather than later.

I pray for guidance and "if it's the right job, let them give a firm offer. If it's not the right job, please make sure they don't give a firm offer".

93 Attended the local Oktoberfest tonight. Had a wonderful time with friends and good beer. The entertainment was first rate - we get all the A- bands and performers here as we are very close to Nashville. Anywho, there were a number of very elderly and/or disabled folks in the crowd. Their caretakers worked hard to make sure they were having a good time and were participating to the extent they could. One very old guy with almost no ability to move his hands or arms was sitting in his motorized wheelchair listening to the music. His caretaker handed him a sippy cup with beer in it. Which he was enjoying very much.

Terrifying and infuriating, and the web is much more complicated and organized than we ever imagined. Watched it last night. Here's the link to:

Then, for reasons that remain a mystery to this very day, she served up canned spinach. I suddenly understood my friends spinach hate. Could not get a forkful past my gag reflex. Foul, evil stuff..

Many of the ways we are being attacked are perfectly legal. Winning one election is not going to fix everything. We've got to keep on winning.

Mom had recipe from my Paternal grandma that she'd cook...first cook a pound of bacon. Next, cook the onions and add the spinach. Add some apple cider vinegar to the end. Saltiness came from the bacon grease.
