U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro revealed Tuesday that her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar's financial disclosures, opening a new chapter in the controversy surrounding the Minnesota Democrat's previously reported multimillion-dollar assets. Speaking on Fox News' "America Reports," Pirro said her office was examining Omar's financial disclosures, which previously showed that the reported value of businesses tied to her husband, Tim Mynett, had surged from as much as $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024. ![]() Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

No, that's exactly what it is. And it's not uncommon, especially with "celebrity" wines. They basically just buy the wine (or other booze) already bottled, slap their label on it, and use their celebrity cred to sell it. Nothing wrong with this -- but celebrities aren't in positions of governmental power like Omar is. You are correct. The massive entity you are referring to is MGP Ingredients (Midwest Grain Products). Located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, this historic facility is famously known as the ultimate source behind dozens of well-known American whiskey, bourbon, and rye brands. For years, it operated as the spirits industry's "worst-kept secret," serving as a massive contract distiller. Start-up brands or "Non-Distiller Producers" (NDPs) source aged or unaged liquid from MGP, finish or blend it, and sell it under their own labels Posted by: Archimedes at October 16, 2026 12:23 PM (Riz8t) 72

There isn't a vineyard within 50 miles of me. Yet, there's a "winery" right down the road. I believe they buy a set amount of grapes, have it pressed into wine, then put their own label on it. It's the same wine as a half dozen other "local" wines, just with a different label.
And they sell it at an inflated price because there's only so many bottles of it. Not because it's good, rare or exceptional... Omar's winery wasn't likely even doing this minimal effort. It didn't appear like it was a functional winery. It did appear to launder massive amounts of money however. Posted by: Martini Farmer at October 16, 2026 12:34 PM (RORbl) 133

John J Griffin, a 16-year-old from Bend, Oregon, was identified as the suspect in Thursday's shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School that killed four and injured two critically. John J. Griffin, who was shot dead by a bystander, was identified by NBC News citing three senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter. Per NBC News, the shotgun that Griffin used for the shooting was purchased by his mother around the 16-year-old's birthday in August. John J. Griffin's link to Silver Rail Elementary school is unclear as the investigation into the shooting continues. Griffin used a pump-action shotgun and opened fire around 12:30pm PDT Thursday. Three children - a five-year-old, an eight-year-old and an 11-year-old were killed. A seven-year-old student and a teacher were critically injured. Ilhan Omar's graft has been incredibly sloppy. She reminds me of Bob Menendez, the senator from New Jersey who had stolen Egyptian gold bars (traced by serial numbers to a 2013 heist) and a half-million in cash bribes stashed all over their house. It's as if both Menendez and Omar thought they were somehow untouchable.
But hey, unlike Menendez, Omar hasn't yet been arrested. She might be right. Right now, she's probably lying low in some fancy villa owned by one of her Somalian Learing Center millionaire contacts, waiting for the heat to die down. Usually authoritarians target those on the margins before expanding their repression. That Trump and Vance are going after a sitting congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, with politically motivated deportation means they have bigger ambitions. Their push to have the 14th amendment reinterpreted and their push to denaturalize citizens is just part of their overall goal: they want to be able to strip citizenship from anyone for any reason and send them to camps outside of the country. Like the Nazis did.
I remember a couple of years ago when about half the people on the left were arguing that putting dissidents in camps, or just anyone that won't take the clot shot, was perfectly reasonable. Posted by: 18-1 at October 16, 2026 12:57 PM (sKqQm) 248

Its better that these shooters get capped because our justice system apparently has neither the will nor the capability to execute anyone any more. Technically Oregon has the death penalty but it is effectively banned because its never, ever used and is extremely hard to even attempt to sentence.

Yeah I'm always puzzled by this kind of claim. Nobody wants to put anyone in camps, that's expensive and pointless. We just want them shipped out to their home countries. The purpose of a patent or a trademark is to guarantee that new ideas get out to the world in return for a limited period of exclusive control. In the AI world, ideas are still a dime a dozen, just the development and exploitation of them is democratized. It is also the end of financialization of products, and the end of intentional enshittification - in the future, when anyone can develop an idea, but may not have the skills to make it into a product, the real winners are businesses that can both make quality products, and can make them at scale for the market - which a 3D printer or a CNC mill is not able to do yet. 307 It amuses me that people are getting worked up about the portrayal of a minor character in a 45 year old movie.
Posted by: Archimedes at October 16, 2026 01:06 PM (Riz8t) With character actors, all you have is maybe a few lines, but that builds the character. The guy did some great work with the few lines he had in Raiders and he built a good character with them. It seemed to be at odds with the one portrayed in Last Crusade is all. THIS was acting. And good writing. It is hard to recognize today. Posted by: Aetius451AD at October 16, 2026 01:09 PM (Y/06r) 327

I don't buy that. In Raiders he says it like he had experience going after relics. And if he was bullshitting, Indy would have known it and laughed at him.
He would have at least given Brody a side eye if Brody was known to be a stumbling buffoon outside the university, for comedic effect. == there is only one objective truth to a fictional portrayal and other people's interpretations of facial expressions are obviously wrong, unreasonable and silly compared to my beliefs. If I had to guess, the Feds were/are hoping to use Omar to pop the top on all the Somali fraud and assorted muslim shenanigans.
She almost certainly has contacts and has gotten payments from the big bosses, IMHO. So, somebody has disappeared her out of the country already or soon to prevent that. What are her ties to the CCP? THIS Posted by: Lizzy at October 16, 2026 01:07 PM (rOKnE) _____________________________ Sadly, that's an easy and obvious one to answer. Who is the richest family in Somalia? Simple... the family that owns Dahabshiil Money Transfer Service. That family is headed by Mohamed Said Duale (Chairman and Founder). Abdirashid Duale (CEO of Foreign Interests). You will find a Dahabshiil branch and each and every single location on the planet where there are more than a handful of Somalis. Minneapolis has three branches within a 10 block area. Dublin Ohio has a branch. San Diego has a branch. Keep in mind that Dahabshiil is so recent in development that the founder is still active and running the show. You will find Dahabshiil throughout Europe where you find Somalis. In fact, there is a private Islamic school in Gothenburg, Sweden. Last year is was learned that embezzled funds were ending up in Somalia (most students there are Somali). Rural Gothenburg even had a branch of Dahabshiil. Posted by: Orson at October 16, 2026 01:18 PM (dIske) 349
